I go hear very nearly once a week during the summer and have yet to be disappointed. Very friendly staff and consistently good food.

Very friendly staff. The food is good quality and plentiful. I get the pizza steak every time and am never disappointed.

I visit stone harbor and Avalon a few times during spring and summer to fish, i only been in the liquor store to get alcohol when staying at a room for the night. They got more registers open then a Walmart, fast service. Always in and out. Always seem to have what im looking for and my fishing buddies.

Although crowded, we were accommodated with seating for eight in 15 minutes on a Saturday night. Amazing burgers, crab sandwiches and sides like onion rings. All portions were very generous. Free off street parking too.

I ordered from Fred s in many occasions and they can t seem to get it right from soggy fries to over cooked fish (twice) and the last straw was finding hair in my salad. They can t seem to get the orders right at times even in the middle of the day when it s not busy. Poor customer service.

Liquor store had a good selection. Inquired on a certain beer and was led to it right away. Nice guys with a good location.

A great place to relax and have a beer or cocktail or two.

Always great food. Serves late during the week, even in the winter. Hard to find that on the islands in the off-season.

Waited a few minutes to be seated and it wasn t crowded at all. Ordered a shrimp po boy and fish sandwich, both were burnt and dry. The sauce was really hot with an odd flavor on both sandwiches. Paid extra for fries and they were a strange flavor and were also burnt. When the waitress was told she had an attitude about it. The prices were kind of high for food we didn t eat. Won t ever be going back and don t recommend it.

Great staff and an equally great selection!!! Not only was the cashier friendly and knowledgeable, he remembered me everytime I came into the store.

Very cool tavern and Liquor store. A broad selection and good service but pricey. Around 20-30% more than Costco. Purchased wine here for dinner at nearby Jay s due to their BYOB policy.

Although it took quite a long time for the food to come out it was good. Had the short rib bonmi sandwich without cheese as I don't think cheese really belongs with that type of sandwich and I left it off and it was good.

Deliciouse food, friendly people, fresh food. Girls had a chicken salad and patty melt for myself. Big portion for the price.

Fun environment, busy bar, strong drinks at a reasonable price.

Always a good place for a drink, snack or meal and conversation.

My favorite place in Stone Harbor and I live 5 miles from it. Great food. Reasonable prices. I can't wait to go again.

I've been visiting Stone Harbor for 50 years and since I was old enough to remember there has always been a Fred's Tavern. Over the years it's expanded from just a liquor store to a great Tavern bar and now they have a pretty nice inside restaurant area and also an outside patio dining area. Good to be comfortable inside with the AC when needed, otherwise I personally prefer the outside patio. Fred's has always had fair prices on everything they sell which can be hard to find in a summer Resort Beach town. Was very pleasantly surprised to learn they have a very good menu with an amazing kitchen! Great steak and cheese subs if that's your thing but they also have great salads and other fare. Had one of the best chicken fajitas in my life here. Best onion rings by far! No question. And to top things off menu items are not outrageously expensive either. Very reasonable prices!

The place has a good vibe when traveling to the beach during the off season. Just watch out for the locals when the music is a-rocking. They know how to boogie with the best of them.

Loved loved loved the sausage and mushroom appy. I was disappointed they couldn't separate checks at the table.

The food was great and the service was amazing. We are regulars in Stone Harbor and always make sure to stop by Fred's! I would definitely recommend them!

We come here every year and food is always good. Service is hit or miss as far as waitress/waiters. Sometimes super friendly and sometimes you feel like you are bothering them.

The best sweet potato fries around. Great burgers too.

I had the French onion cheesesteak and it was fantastic, the best I've ever had.

Only been once but we had a great time. Guitar player was great, decent beers, quick service, relaxed crowd and atmosphere.

Hadn't been here in 30 years (when I was 4), went out of nostalgia; excellent, fast service, seated the two of us immediately on a Friday in-season at 7:30 pm. Great meal, decent beer selection, friendly server. Stop by the liquor store next door and grab yourself an iconic down-the-shore stop 'Fred's' t-shirt. Won't be 30 years before I'm back next! Cheers!

Great food and friendly staff. Changed the channel to the Eagles game from the Phillies game for us. It's the little things!

Just a bar. The bartender was a cool guy. The other people at the bar were kind of strange though but thats probably just because Avalon people tend to be a little off. Very odd! But the bar was nice, so.

This place is amazing. Waitress brought us new drinks before we even had a chance to finish our firsts. Food was hot and fresh also delicious.
Do not go anywhere else to eat in stone harbor.

Great food, drinks, bartenders, and atmosphere. Couldn't ask for anything more. Had a mushroom swish burger, cheese steak(added au jus for dipping). Best I've had in a looong time.

The live music was great! Their beer options were limited.

Didnt eat here yet, but it's a cool atmosphere, bartenders are always cool. Service is quick. Fair prices for the area. I always hear good things about the food! I'll update my review when I go back to eat, but I imagine it won't change much! Check em out!

I love this place. A Stone Harbor tradition. Good food. Great drinks and open all year.

Just bought several different IPA'S and all of them were expired. I did not check the dates when I was there unfortunately. Do not buy their beer. It seems to me they buy them at a discount and sell them at a premium price total tourist trap and those bastards got me!

It's a liquor store with the usual varieties. Prices are competitive.

The waitress was so friendly and pleasant, the food was great and quick. The price was very reasonable ($10 for most burgers and sandwiches). We had a couple of appetizers-potato skin and Asian Wrap (a bowl of soup too) and they were all good. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely go back if we ever visit Avalon again. (This restaurant is in Stone Harbor just one mile down from Avalon). Oh we learned the street parking here is free until May 1st!!

Asked for medium rare burger and came out burnt. Slow service and not personable. This was a top rated place and I don't know how.
