Unempathetic for stolen motorbike they got paid to store from police

Got a letter saying they have my stolen motorbike from years ago and that storage cost is £192 plus £13 pd from the time they wrote the letter (28th/11) well I only received it Saturday 6th when they are closed every weekend.

Only says on the letter to let you insurance know if you made a claim and not if they might take the cost of it. So first worried about that, considering xmas is coming and money is tight anyway.

Then letter states any personally belongs will be held separately.

Gave them a call as letter didn't state what if anything was in my bike and they said they'd call me in about half an hour after checking.

2 hours later around 3.30 I called back as didn't hear from them. They said it was stuffed at the back and wouldn't get it till tomorrow when insurance was going to take it. Also that apparently the seat storage was locked and that they couldn't do anything about it (giving a what do you want me to do attitude) as I explained i didn't know what tools, and permission they had etc and after a awkward silence I said I could bring my keys in. Surly as their job they could say what they can or can't do and give recommendations rather just implying so what.

They didn't say what time my insurance was coming to collect and at this point I was losing my patience from their unprofessional lack of empathy and helpfulness. So I confirmed the address and agreed to come tomorrow.

Woke up early, already stressed, depressed etc, as again didn't know when insurance would be collecting. Called again and now suddenly they could get in the seat etc and found nothing. So got up early for no reason and almost drove to them for no reason.

Why could they not add on the letter these details when they should have first searched it. Or get the bike out and check, when I enquired, if they didn't before (especially if you needed it ready for next day anyway) or at least have the decency to call me back to explain, or apologise that you didn't when I called you. Or call me when you got it out this morning and found nothing rather then expecting me to check a 3rd time or come down in person for a wasted trip.

Very lazy, unempathetic, rude staff.

You are dealing with customers victim of theft that are already stressed and upset. Do better.
