Best thing we ever did for our freshman son! This school may have gotten some bad publicity but it's no different than any other school in Marion County with one exception.....the present staff is the best I've seen. The admin., teachers and especially Colonel Watson cares deeply for these students. The students that want (key word: WANT) to be there are thriving!
My son is enrolled . Freshmen this year. So far i think he likes it.
My younger sister goes here and she says she enjoys the school. It has some small school issues(population is about 200 kids), but in my experience, most of the kids seem friendly and respectful.
Wow! 1:15 ratio of highly qualified instructors to students, 2:1 computer ratio, and more advanced science classes then I've ever seen offered in a regular public school. If your child is looking to develop their leadership and responsibility skills in an uncrowded atmosphere, this is the school for you!
We moved here from Pennsylvania for one specific reason and that was for my son to attend a better school with the military format. He has progressed so much in his personality and academic achievements in this school that I am very thankful we made the right choice. I want to thank the school, staff and the board for making this possible for my son and all the other students who have accomplished a lot by attending Marion Military Academy. I hope the school is around for a long time so other student's have the same opportunity to attend and succeed.
i love this school!!!! its taught me to respect authority and i want to join the navy now, if i wouldn't have came to this school i wouldn't have known how much JROTC/ROTC interest me. I'm so glad I'm here.but i recommend this school 100% <3<3<3<3<3<3

As with any school it has its ups and its downs its negative and its positive but the impact that it has had on my daughter is priceless and has definitely served as a learning experience for more than just academics. The small population allows each student to be a person not a number the teachers are able to know each of their students for who they are and they are not kept in a box but can excel as quickly as they like.
My 14 year old son will begin the 9th grade at this school this year. He has never really enjoyed schol, would usually come home really stressed and even angry. So far for the first time I have seen him happy to go to school everyday, and when the school day ends he can't stop talking about his day. Very happy with this school!
Coming into this school, I thought it would be a great choice for me. The principal told me there would be better education, less bullying and smaller classrooms. The classes are packed, people who don't fit in are bullied and the children there don't allow the teachers to give anyone an education.
The only thing about the school that is decent about that school is the amount of free time you have in all your classes and the small handfuls of teachers that can control the classroom.
I'm not going back to that crappy school next year and I couldn't be happier. If you're thinking of attending FMMA, please don't. It's the worse school I've been to since Howard Middle School.
