Place with amazing scenery! In addition to wine, the story of this acclaimed director with several Oscars is a must-have for fans of the Godfather trilogy. Service, wine and food are well worth the visit. I came back a year later, now with the family, and it continues a great experience. Attendance, food and wine that are worth the visit.

Coppola Winery is moving to twist off caps instead of real wine corks in their bottles. Reminds me of the Old Boone's Farms Wines, guess everything changes to save a few dollars and let the product quality drop.
Wonderful time. Excellent staff. Not just a wine tasting room but a dining experience. Food was delish and the view of the landscape was beautiful. They also have a pool bar. Lots of memorabilia of francis's films. Let there be no mistake it is an eloquent place
Many better wineries nearby with better and more substantial food, service, and wine. This place felt very restrictive. Arbitrary mandatory order for every member of your party. One other example: one in our party was vegetarian, and instead of giving them an equal portion of food compared to the rest, they just took the meat out and gave her less food until we asked for something comparable. Just seemed like an easy thing to do to feel cared for and included. Value for price was not comparable to nearby places.
Francis Ford Coppola Winery is an grandiose facility in the hills of Sonoma county. The expansive grounds, the amazing pool and all the memorabilia from FFC movie productions.
The wine tasting, while tasting costs are similar for the region ($25-$45 pp), access to taste all the wines is limited to only a handful. Given there are so many wines available for sale a limited tasting selection is a bit frustrating.
Still, the lunch venue is amazing on a stone terrace and you could enjoy your time here without tasting wine.
I've been to many wineries in my career and I can tell you Coppola is world class. Beautiful is an understatement for both the buildings and the grounds. They also have a pool. A really really big pool! The restaurant is fantastic, we had a family style Italian meal on their terrace. They made my group fell like we were family that night.
Slightly dissapointing visit. If you are used to European winerys and all there charm you will most likely leave this place shaking your head. Two reasons: 1. There is a pool area where you can buy seats for a ridiculous price to sit together in a beach club like atmosphere. Feels very wrong while entering a winery.
We left the place with the feeling that its not about the wine here and all its amazing process but rather to sell any kind of product and that is, indeed, very sad.
Amazing experience! We have three kids (2-13 yrs). Very family friendly, but still beautiful, great wine, and great service. Must visit for anyone who needs to to Sonoma w/ kids in tow - pool was key in bringing the experience to the next level.
Some amazing wines, and the restaurant meal was fantastic and reasonably priced. Pleasantly surprised compared to some reviews I read. Definitely a destination winery. There is a fantastic pool if you want to spend the day with great wine and food and fun in the sun. The 2013 Archimedes wine was one of the best I have ever tasted. Can't say enough good things. A real gem.
Yes it's expensive but don't let that scare you off. It is worth it. The food here is amazing. I really love the lamb but I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. There is an interesting collection of movie memorabilia from Coppola's films including an actual Tucker Automobile and the desk from The Godfather. Take your time and enjoy.
The atmosphere was great! Great outdoor are and the inside has tons of mobie memorabilia (duh). The was was pretty good as well. If you go for a tasting, do yourself a favor and head to the second floor tasting room.
Very poor service. Sat at the bar and ordered food and a glass of wine. Saw it was submitted in the system but then watched two large groups receive all of their items before me including their food even though their order was placed 5-10 minutes after mine. I'm still sitting here waiting after every one who ordered after me has received service.
The food and wine are both excellent. Meals are pricey, but the Director's Cut wine is an excellent value: it costs as much as any regular restaurant bottle of wine, but it's much better than the average regular restaurant bottle of wine. And if you have to wait, the displays of movie props will keep you entertained for a while.
Beautiful venue. It is a brilliant and uplifting experience just to got there. Even if you don't drink wine. A bookshop and souvenir store is great. A stunning display of a genuine 1948 Tucker classic car. The pool bar is great for a snack or lunch. Wines are excellent. Tasting and wine prices are excellent value for money. Joined the club and going back again.
3 of us visited last week and found that everything was very clean and safety guidelines were held to a high standard. The surroundings are elegant and dramatic and the view from the patio we were seated on was stunning! Probably one of the best in the area. However, we weren't allowed to walk the several feet across the patio to take a picture of the view even though there was nobody else seated on the patio or near where we wanted to take a picture. We asked if there was an area we could get a good view for a picture and we were told to go out to the parking lot. What was even less impressive was the tasting itself. Our server was pleasant but very lacking in any depth or enthusiasm in his presentation and we felt very hurried through the experience. Only one glass was used for the entire flight, which doesn't bother me in the least, but I wasn't even done tasting one wine before he was back to pour the next one. The wines themselves were mediocre at best which was disappointing considering the price of the tasting and the lack of hospitality given. We were in and out in a half hour even though the reservation slot was for an hour so we were fairly underwhelmed to say the least. There was one gentleman working who was very kind on our way out and showed us the way to the restroom and also encouraged us to take a path around the parking lot out to the vineyard to take a picture. Not the same amazing view but still somewhat helpful. Overall, it was an OK experience, the beautiful building and landscape was this stops saving grace thus the 3 stars, but I doubt that I would go back considering we had much better experiences and wines at other locations.
This is the premier place to go in the Sonoma/Napa Wine Country. Impeccable taste surrounds this complex, with lush vinyard, English style Cott Mansion with poolside and amphitheater amenities. An original Tucker car, as the center piece of the tasting room and quite the bar around the corner. They also serve dinner by the menu as well as set calender meals not on menu. No better experience in class and accoutrements.
Super cool estate, wasn't expecting such a destination or would have arrived earlier to spend more time here (arrived at 5 pm). Next time I'll schedule a half day here alone! Fantastic pool, wine tasting, lunch and dinner! They just need cabins or a small hotel here next!
A wonderful winery to visit for the big-money experience. They have two wines to taste for free and a ton of others for Napa-tasting prices. Better than that, hang out at the bar or grab a table and a glass of your favorite along with delicious snacks and meals. There's a beautiful pool and for about $20 a day (I forget the cost) you can enjoy that as well. Cabanas for rent for a bit more. This place looks (and sort of feels) like a castle but the hoards of wine tasters rolling up in limos will keep you in check with reality. If you want to avoid the crowds and have a more relaxing experience check out Trentadue across the street.
Visiting the winery of Francis Ford Coppola is a very special experience! Take wine tasting ($ 20 for 4 wines), there is also a museum with items from the movies, including the Oscars. Price wise, the wine is not a bargain, the bottle starts at around 15 on the top, there are hardly any limits. There is also a beautiful sun terrace and a pool. We liked it very much :)
Terribly disappointed that my Christmas present (shipment) ordered mid-December never arrived at all. Customer service was not helpful nor apologetic. Cancelling my membership =(
Beautiful Winery, just off 101. Ample free parking for a Busy Hot Saturday. Pool is $35 with lawn seating; Much more with chez lounge and cabana. All staff were very polite, happy and friendly.
Restaurant was about 1/3 full, more outside than inside. Lots of formal waiters, women and men. Linguine con Vongole, clams, lacked broth and was a small serving, with bottomless ice tea, for about $20. Lots of clams. Took about 30min. So that's not recommended.
Nice grounds and tasting room, however the entire winery is more of a circus. Restaurant was good. I would not recommend for some that wants to taste and enjoy wine.
We drove a couple of hours to the Coppola winery to have lunch. Nice grounds and building, but unfortunately at lunchtime on a Friday with very few people there, and the restaurant half-empty, we were told that we would have to wait 1 hour to get in.
Explaining our situation to the attendant didn't seem to be received with any degree of understanding. Judging by the disorganized, yet small line to get in, along with other tourists who left the line while we were waiting, I have to concur with others that this is a poorly managed restaurant with employees that don't seem to understand how to serve customers professionally.
To make it worse, if you can't get into this restaurant there's not many other places to have a meal, except local wineries with basic wine tasting.
There are plenty of better choices in Napa Valley which is an hour away from this place and way closer to the city.
Absolutely beautiful grounds, building, etc. The tasting staff was very friendly and informative. The restaurant was just okay especially for the price. We could have skipped the meal and just did the wine tasting.
Bartender was very attentive, made great drinks and we were able to have amazing appetizers at the bar, while we waited for our table. The chocolate mousse was delicious. The New York steak was below fair. The property is so grandiose, especially at night.
My wife and I came here for a visit on our 50th wedding anniversary. She doesn't drink but was entertained by the Coppola museum and memorabilia. I had the pleasure of tasting with Trish. She was very informative and allowed me to taste a few of the wines outside the regular tasting. What had started as a two or three bottle purchase turned into a case. We then had lunch at Rustic. A bit noisy but the food and service was excellent. Would recommend this as a must stop when travelling in Geyserville.
Absolutely fabulous venue for wining and dining. Great outdoors for sipping, and swimming facilities for cooling off. Fascinating museum complete with academy awards, and memorabilia Memorable!
We visited for the second time last week. The view was spectacular and the food very tasty just as it was on our initial visit. The restaurant service, on the other hand, left much to be desired this time. Maybe all the regular staff called in sick? We will, no doubt, return as there much to see even if you have to wait for service!
For $25 fast you can enjoy 4 selection of their best and top of the line wine. The best thing about the testing experience that I had was the staff behind the counter. They will explained to you from when they pick the grapes and when they bottle their wine. That shown me how the sale staff are involved from the beginning to the end of their product. Some sale person don't have that information in some winery. That shown me, they know what they were doing at the winery.
Honest review: beautiful beautiful winery, you can tell that the owners and staff really love the place. We did the flight tasting at the bar which was really wonderful, then stayed for dinner at the restaurant.
We were seated pretty quickly, however our server didn t actually come to us for about an hour. It was a bit busy but not packed when we came. He dropped the bread and then we watched as he gave us the one minute gesture as he went to literally every other table. We were reasonably hangry & upset because the menu has an amazing selection & the place is absolutely gorgeous. After an hour of waiting we asked him for another waiter since his hands seemed full..he said sure then didn t actually get us anyone.
So why a 5 star review? Well, we were able to let another staff member what was going on and he instantly apologized and took our orders right away. From that point that staff member and our amazing waiter Jeff took amazing care of us. The amazing service and friendliest we received made up for the first waiter. The first waiter we had was not a good representation of this place at all.
After dinner the amazing service continued in the gift shop where the shop attendant was able to share with us awesome info about the Tucker car in the showroom & local things to do in the area. Really really nice guy!
We will definitely come again for sure, thank you for being able to turn our not so great experience into something wonderful.
Love those memorabila from the Godfather. They have the desk, the car, phone used on the film and so too awards wins/ awards by the Director. Soo too got some wine tasting! Wonderful Experience!
The pool is awesome! Make reservations well in advance. Wine excellent and grounds beautiful. Staff very helpful and happy. Great food and wine options with cabana service!
Great food and great service. Attention given to every detail. I'm not necessarily a fan of Coppola but dude knows food. Really good staff and the facility is meticulously maintained. Beautiful place. If you're in the area you need to come here.
Today I was served the best meat I have ever eaten. I ordered the lamb rack and it was beyond anything I could have ever expected. It was true perfection. Perfectly medium rare, perfectly seasoned, perfectly charred, perfect. I will dream about that meat.
The grounds here are impeccable, you feel like you're on a movie set. If you want to have a really good tasting go upstairs! It's worth the $5 extra. We had the best bar tender/wine educator Todaeo who made our tasting so much fun. All the wines were good but some were exceptional (Directors Cut Cab 89).
This was my first trip to California. All I wanted to do was taste my favorite wine at Francis Ford Coppola's Winery. Wonderful wines. Great service. The bartender and his friends were remarkable. It rained all day, but I loved the wine country after visiting Coppola's winery. I plan on bringing my friends along next time I visit California.
This is an awesome place to visit and to eat. We had lunch in the dining room. The food was most excellent. The muffatta was true to The New Orleans recipe. It might use more olive salad. The Cobb Salad DoD not disappoint. The wait staff was better than you expect in a 5 star restaurant. Heather was most attentive, friendly and still professional.
The grounds and atmosphere are beautiful. The service was great. The food was good. Nothing spectacular, but the lemon tart dessert, now that was deliscious!
Lovely winery setting, such interesting memorabilia inside. Food and service first rate....however VERY NOISEY, not conducive to the fine dining reflected in the ambiance and the check! !
It's impossible not to stop at Coppola when you do the Californian wine circuit! Sonoma Valley and its surroundings are just sublime. Lost a few kilometers from the highway, the Coppola Winery is a large and entertaining wine park. Very touristy, the vines are the least highlighted attraction; indeed, the Winery offers a swimming pool, a museum of Coppola films, several bars and restaurants as well as a rich vegetable patch. In short, a very good film-alcoholic afternoon to spend;)
Really liked the wine tasting that included their select/reserve collection upstairs. Some great wines. A bit expensive for what they are but overall experience makes it a great place to visit.
Super friendly staff, excellent wine and very military friendly. Really enjoyed our visit. The movie memorabilia everywhere was very enjoyable to peruse.
The unexpected. Friends took us to the winery. Discovered it is a museum as well. This is a great place for family fun with a pool and bocce ball. My favorite winery to visit and do wine tasting. Entry cost: free.
This is a slice of Napa in the middle of the Healdsburg area. Depending on what you're looking for, that's either good or bad. Big crowds, big tasting room, mass market wines -- but at least the wine is pretty good!
Nice everyday wines, easy drinking wines with a great view from the winery, this is a must visit. Use a Visa Signature card for buy 1 get 1 free tasting. The staff reminded me of my credit card perks.
Great Hidden GEM right off of Hwy 101 "Rustic" Restaurant was an Amazing Experience. LOVE the Cinematic Museum with Original show pieces from the Francis Coppola Film Genre. A Must Visit!!
Linda and Trent were great. I brought my 3 girlfriends with me, it was their very first time. We all had a blast, all wines were delicious. Linda let us taste Cinema, which I am already a fan of. Everybody got a bottle to take home, too. Trent took care of us upstairs, you MUST try their reserve tasting! Best part is we became members, our first wine adventure together. And let me tell you we don't commit easily.... But both Linda and Trent spent extra time with us to make sure we are familiar with other wines that come in the shipment, so we knew we were purchasing nothing but delicious product. Thank you for your time and great service! Dasha
It s a rip off plain and simple. $20 to taste mediocre wines, long waits in the restaurant -over 30 mins for our average tasting food to arrive from the overpriced menu. We then spent our time chasing flies away form our authentic pot of lamb.
The Disneyesque version of a European vineyard is America at its worst I m afraid.
If you want to waste some money and pretend to discuss the virtues of dodgy Chardonnay, or saving bees by buying wine, this is the place for you. For anyone who wants a civilized meal and some gentle pondering on the joys of wine, look elsewhere.
