Called in with questions about weight capacity of the bed area. Was transferred to a person in service who has been very unpleasant to talk to. Called in again talked to service manager who told me he ll find out and get back to me. Probably will never happen since it wasn t a good conversation either.

Ordered replacement parts for the front and rear panels that push up the roof (which are broken) three months ago and still have not received them with no promise as to when, if ever, I will. I agreed to the $950 installation and replacement cost. I have had numerous promises of delivery and installation but they unequivocally tell me that warranty and replacement work is their LAST priority and that they will not get to manufacturing replacement parts while they have new camper orders. Further, they were rude in discussing. Heads-up, if you ever need warranty work or replacement parts, it will happen, if ever, when they are good and ready, which may be months. I have been without my camper the entire Summer waiting for these parts.
This is a follow-up to my initial review, with a one star rating. I subsequently received a phone call from John and Jay at Four Wheel and they were very polite and very accommodating, advising that I will have my replacement parts by the end of the month (less than two weeks away). As a result, I am changing my review to five stars.
Very hard to deal with I paid over $300 dollars of parts for my camper I called customer service thinking there would send me two extra nuts. No not without charging me shipping . I ordered on a Thursday they did"nt ship until Monday Bad service ( lift strut kit)
What a great company to deal with. We are so happy with our new Hawk Shell and we owe it all to Stan and Pete in the office. You just can't beat buying a new slide in camper direct from the factory. Forget dealing with those big RV dealers, go straight to the HQ!
Poor customer service and support for used campers.
...Jay, I talked to you and Aaron several times on the phone and through email over the course of several months. The standard answer was always, I ll check on that and get back to you during each step of the order process. I never got a call back and when I called back I usually got voicemail.
If i could give no stars i would. This place is awful. The new CEO is a bully and steals money from you. He could care less about keeping the name alive of this great buiness. He has taught his team to lie cheat and steal. Then tells you that your are being hostile and rude to him. I made a purchase here and was very excited about the already build Hawk we were buying. After doing research on how this would be installed and contacting them about my concerns they played games. I went down to speak with them about the install process and they could not answer. When i asked for more information and paper work that s when the lies started to come out and the back and fourth between the instal techs and and the sales team. When i asked to speak to the CEO i was told he wasn t available. I only asked as i wanted my deposit back and to bring to his attention how his employees where not sharing and helping me the customer to understand some important information, the also said he is the only one to be able to refunded a deposit. Not once did someone say let me see when he will be back or let me take your number and have him call you. Finally i was told he would be back in 2 hours so iwaited. At which point while waiting his VP came and was speaking to the office girls which are very sweet. I happened to say hi you guys don t have a way to reach him to let him know he has a customer in need to speak with him. The VP then yelled at me i don t have to give you anything. I was so thrown back as i was speaking to the office girls who again were very nice.Thats is when i asked who he was. Finally after waiting 3 hours the CEO walked in walked passed me and then 20 min later came and got me. I knew by his tone and approach this was not going to be a good conversation. Long story short i explained my experience and he was so rude and so awful. After an hour later i walked out in tears and anger from how he spoke to me he tried to belittle me and lie. My husband was finally able to get our money back after the CEO saying i will give it back minus $500. Why did he feel the need to keep $500 they did nothing. This was a already built camper noting being done to it. He did just because he could. Awful buiness practice. Beware if you have to ask questions.
My experience wasn t the best here. I ask questions and expect the same answers from each person I ask. Hearing a bunch of different things made me very weary on purchasing one. It truly sucks because I have wanted one for years. When a employee says it s going to leak.... the other one says to him you can go inside now. They stated that the camper would fit my truck. Actually it wouldn t fit and would be unsafe. Propane gas hanging out past the bumper. I asked a lot of questions after the fact. They took deposit money from me after I canceled my order on a floor model. They now have a new web site with a fitment guide they made days after my dilemma. It doesn t say a hawk will fit on my truck. They also didn t put my year and model vehicle on the work order I signed. Most likely because they knew it wasn t the right fit but wouldn t tell me. They now won t sell me the one that fits my truck because they hate me for having issues. I needed the Raven not the hawk. All they had to do was say this one isn t for you and I would have ordered the Raven. They would have had a sale and a very happy owner. Instead they pocket my money. I get it if they were building it it would make sense to lose the money but this was a floor model. As you see in the photo that s not my truck I have a 2015 super crew. I was also concerned about drilling in a aluminum bed. The aluminum is thin kinda like the new Toyota composite beds they use external tie downs on. Later I found out they could use tork lifts and not drill holes. Not one time did they guide me in that direction. As you can see I m upset if you lost money you would be too. Hopefully things change for other people. Suck I had to be the one with these issues.
Stopped in with my new used Hawk for proper installation on my truck... I can't believe there are still places that are happy to see you at the end if a long day, giving you extra work to do, and they smile the whole time! Supreme quality work, excellent product. So happy! Much love!
I have been doing my research on Pop-up campers that will fit a full size truck and Toyota Tacoma. Four Wheel Campers make light weight function-able, four wheel ready low profile cab over campers.
I was not disappointed. They also believe in providing a construction quality oriented camper. I was impressed and treated well on my tour of their show room models and the completed models on the ready to ship product line. If their camper is in your wheel house of possibility I strongly encourage a visit to their factory in Woodland, CA prior to you crossing their camper from your list.
Four Wheel Campers is a very professional and customer oriented company. Besides building a superior product, they listen to customer suggestions on upgrading the product. Our Hawk model was built in May 2012, and is still in top shape. We have taken 2 cross-country trips and taken it on many secondary dirt and gravel paths. If you want a camper that can take off road, and bad weather, FWC is the one.
I applaud Four Wheel Campers for your excellent workmanship and high end materials. We have owned our Four Wheel Camper for 11 summers. We have always placed it in covered storage and it has had excellent care. We bought it as a shell, with an overhead bed, storage bench and a wonderful furnace. We installed a fridge and cooking stove with storage underneath. We have been able to camp in secluded places in the Rockies and South West as well as many spectacular places in the US and we never needed hookups. We really can go ANYWHERE. The ventilation from the overhead screens is wonderful on hot summer days. With a gentle breeze, we have been comfortable even sleeping in Nebraska when it was over a hundred degrees outside. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your vision, your determination to produce a quality product that lasts, and for the wonderful years we have had camping in our beloved rig.
