Truly enjoy four dogs Tavern and my book club meets there on a regular basis. The food is good and the service is always good. I truly enjoy being outside with a fire pits during cooler weather. It's comfortable, has a beautiful location and setting that is a wonderful romantic place. The views around the restaurant and Tavern are calming and really worked with the restaurant

The food here is so good. The octopus might be the best octopus I've ever had - amazing! Food aside, it's always a good time on the patio - I love sitting outside on the patio playing with other people's dogs!! And when they have live music, it's not overly loud - it's a nice setup. It is quite pricy however, so probably won't be a place we visit regularly unfortunately.

This place now is overrated. it's like a hit and miss joint. They have kids running the place now, and it's like a pot luck. nobody knows what they're doing there stay away. Big name for everyday food.

Wow. Awesome food, awesome service and awesome atmosphere. Locally sourced ingredients combined with creative flavors is a winning combination here.

I had their 10 ounce flatiron steak with mashed sweet potatoes and watercress vinaigrette, one of their specials of the day. Perfectly cooked, tender, with a glace that was incredible. My friend had their homemade gnocchi with shrimp and a basil pesto, parmesan sauce that was also a symphony for the palate.

As an appetizer they offer several "shareable" choices. We chose the broiled briev with huckleberry sauce on top, with crudites. Also wonderful.

I highly recommend this restaurant. I can't wait to return.

A great place for a date or a family outing. The pub ambience is enriched by the local community's attempt to reenvision the village of Marshallton as a center of Chester county history, going back to the Quaker founding and the Revolutionary War activity along the Brandywine Creek. Don't miss the small historical education center between the inn and restaurant, just by the fire pits. The French influenced food is excellent, and the alcohol list, which includes local breweries, will give you plenty of delight.

What is happening with the prices? At those inflated rates you d think you ll be getting a top notch meal. $7.50 for a beer... come on now! $14 for wings that were naked and super well done with little meat (fried to hell)

Live down the road but seeing where things are going best for a glass of water at best!

Run of the mill food at really high prices. Nothing to write home about. I had the Gnocchi which had some really off flavors and service was excruciatingly slow. My father in law ordered the BBQ pork and it was passable, but not something he would say was "good."

I rarely write a review, but after having dinner at the Four Dogs tonight, I feel compelled to share the fact that it was a very poor experience. Service fine and on point as we have had many meals at Four Dogs, but the quality of food was poor. Specifically, the crab cakes were a sad excuse for a meal and were just a tad bit above eating cardboard. Huge disappointment and my husband was definitely not feeling well after dinner. I note that he is from Maine and rather educated on quality of seafood and the preparation. Have recommended this restaurant in the past, but will refrain at this point and hope a bit of quality and attention is paid to so called specials.

This was on my list with my bf to try. Went here for dinner. I got the pulled pork and my bf got the Ruben. Pulled pork was ok.. I was kinda disappointed. Bun was super soggy and not that appetizing. My bf enjoyed his sandwich. Service was very slow... our waitress kept disappearing on us.

Once I realized that this was yes in West Chester, but not the "in-town" part - I could relax and enjoy. The food was EXCELLENT! The atmosphere was adorable - and if I lived closer I'd probably be a regular. I look forward to going back one night when they have live music.

Had a great time. Food was tasty! Service was quite nice and professional . The drinks were a bit pricey, but all in all an excellent lunch was had by myself and the group of four others! Nice job. They also allow you to bring your dog there which I think is way cool!!

The grilled double decker Reuben is great, and filling. Comes with fries and pickle. Restaurant is in historic Marshalton a few miles outside of West Chester. Casual relaxed dining. Can get busy at peak times.

Nice patio out back that allows dogs. All the owners kept their pooches leashed and quiet. Food was good but a little pricey. We split the special which was billed as a cheesesteak fondue but it didn't resemble fondue at all. It was more appropriately described as a deconstructed cheese steak in a skillet with baguette slices on the side. Still good just a bad description!

With the Pandemic my wife and I sat outside under a canopy setup and found all food and service to be very good.
We will return later when we can experience the real interior charm and ambience of this historic eatery which is part of the Marchalton Inn.

Appetizers & Steak was very good. The waiter was very good & attentive to our group of 10 people. I didn't like that I could not change the side that went with the steak. Do not like brussel sprouts that went with the 12 oz steak. & asparagus & potato au gratin that went with the 6 oz steak they were not able to be substituted. I was not the only one in the group who didn't like the no substitute.

Food was a big disappointment. Clam soup had 2 clams floating in a tasteless tomato broth. Ruben left a lot to be desired. Nachos were decent, presented on an old cedar shingle. Interesting. The burgers were pretty good but the fries were mediocre - regular frozen ones coated in rice flour. Could have been way better!

Always great service here! My husband is on a mission to find the best French onion soup and so far no one has come close to Four Dogs'. We love the prosciutto flatbread and I always order the seven hour pork. Ask for au gratin potatoes instead of slaw for a truly sinful meal!
