We drove 2 hours to this safari and only got to see the rams. The facilities are clean, the welcome center where you pay is easy to find and hassle free. The safari trail is easy to follow and takes you on..

We took our grandchildren on the Fossil Rim Wildlife Safari at the earliest time. The animals were all out and about, most all of them greeting the vehicle for some food. Jack was our driver and guide and he was entertaining, informative about the animals and the center, and patiently answered all the questions asked by the children. They fed the giraffes and emus from their hands, but the rest they threw food out to. The views were beautiful looking across the countryside. The safari took 2 hours, but the kids all said it felt like we were out only 30 minutes it was so good. Afterwards we visited the children's petting area which also good, but more geared to younger ones. All in all a good experience and would like to go back for the behinds the scene tour next year.

WARNING!! IF TOUR IS ON YOUR TO DO LIST YOU HAVE TO CALL AHEAD 3 days IN ADVANCE. Website so cluttered that you can easily overlook this info. If you drive your own car through, it's $26 PER PERSON, pretty steep for what you get. Biig FAT WASTE OF TIME. Staff rude.

Pretty decent experience, if you ever decide to visit the fossil rim wildlife center, try to book the ticket in advance. Usually tickets runs out during the weekend very quickly so keep an eye on the website

Well. This used to be an adventure. Just found out that they are paving the roads in the park. What a joke its a wildlife safari park. Next idea is to put a starbucks at every corner of the park. Wow

Awesome place. Animals are very friendly. Even the crowd is more during weekend, we can see animals coming to vehicles to take food which is great and generally in other places it dont happen. Staff will give only one food packet that also makes people to give only enough food to animals and animals can come to every vehicle.

Me and my family with 10 people decided to come here for a fun event. We came and Meet our instructor. He was very very friendly and nice he was also very funny. He educated us on the animals and told us funny stories about them. When we came the giraffes and ostriches were in cages because Of construction. We saw each and every animal. Since we were the last people of the day he told us you can make The tour last from as short as we want it as long as we want. We had some of my cousins who are little he explained everything to them if I could remember his name I would definitely put it in here. I may update this later putting his name in it. He told us you may interrupt him ask any questions
Or just not listen to him if you don't want to. He made sure we were completely safe at all times if I went back I would definitely go with him.

Absolutely fabulous time!!! We saw so many animals and they all came up to the car for an up close and personal experience! We got there right at 8:30 A.M. on a Monday and there was no wait. No long lines at all! On our way out around 10:45 it sure looked crowded to get in, long line of cars! And I bet the animals are less hungry later in the day so going early is the way to go! The giraffes were a highlight and were very gentle!!! We had a great time for sure!

The center is ok but nothing great. Not really setup for families. The drive and looking at animals was good but we didn't even get to feed the giraffe due to people ahead of us taking too long and then the staff pushing us out of there abruptly as the place was closing. They need to be a it better organized and figure out a mechanism to keep traffic flowing.

This place is a family favorite and we like going here every couple months. Only downside of going there is the other day when we went their staff was not limiting the amount of cars that are allowed in. We had to wait in a line up on the hill waiting to see the giraffes at the bottom with 30 cars in front of us. There is no reason this many cars should pile up and they should not let that may people in at once. I understand the money is good but maybe think about your customers experience before letting every single car in so fast. There should definitely be a limit as to how many cars are allowed in at once.

Great place, love the place but terrible, disrespectful & racist manager (middle aged white lady) at the information Center. We were asking if we can purchase the tickets for two persons that were literally 2 mins late. The rest of the group were inside already. She threatened us for calling the Cops on us. Last time she was assuming & accusing us for not purchasing the right number of tickets for our group. After asking her why is she behaving that way she said oh people cheat on buying less tickets. We told her not to treat every one the same. We had purchased our tickets. Had bad experience with her twice in six months...

Very enjoyable for the whole family. My toddler got to hand feed a giraffe, which was awesome. However, the park should have more people patrolling the hot spots to prevent guests without etiquette from blocking traffic and hogging the animals. For example, when we went, there was only one giraffe coming to the cars and some people in a truck 4 cars up took what felt like almost 15 minutes feeding it. But over all a great time.

Highly recommend paying extra for the safari tour, rather than driving in your own car. You will be exposed to more animals, and bypass the long lines! Staff was knowledgeable and friendly!

What a fun day for the whole family! We drove in from OKC. Definitely go for the guided tour, there is so much to hear and learn about it makes it well worth the extra money. We came on a very rainy and chilly day but we still had a wonderful time. Our guide was so funny, I didn't catch her name but she was a younger girl. She was so well informed about all of the animals and I loved how humorous she was. We had a great time and cant wait to come back!!

Epic! These are animals which are not seen every day, and it is part of an effort to preserve life. The environment is fitting for it, as well. It's mostly deer and horned woods creatures that will come to your vehicle for food....all day....and the geraffe may put their 2ft long tongue in your far to take the entire bag....be careful, you're definitely out in nature, amd be sure to drive slow. No more than 15mph at all times....stop when they are in front of you. The more risky animals like cheetahs, wolves and rhinos are off the roads. A must see in Glen Rose, along with Dinosaur Valley and the Creation Museum.

Tried to call for information and the woman on the phone was very snide and rude. She continued to cut me off. She asked if we knew how to get there and I said I had the address. She then said that it is not at the front gate. When I asked where it was she then said Well I guess you don't have the address then do you. Was not helpful and was extremely rude. Way to lose out on profit.

The family always enjoys their visit here. The scenery is pretty unique and beautiful, but the interaction with the wildlife is enjoyable. The animals are all friendly and take the food from you very gently. It's a very unique experience and better than a few other Dallas area wildlife centers. Highly recommended for a day trip!

Though we still had a good time this was a lesser successful version of the drive thru safari concept. Could it have been to hot? Possibly. But it looked like to guided truck tours got a better view/experience. This place is costly and had we not recieved complimentary tickets from a near by resort we would have been greatly disappointed.

Best place to see animals up close and free range. Been coming for 25 years. A slow drive through the park will take 3-5 hours. Scenic drive up and down hills and savannahs. Best time to go is early when animals not affected by heat of day. Open 8:30-4:30. Early in the week discounts. Too many animals to list. They will give descriptive brochure. Snack bar at half way point or you can pack a picnic lunch. Wonderful place to bring your kids or grandparents.

Horrible day wasted here. Going on the weekend is a huge mistake. Paying $26 PER PERSON to sit in stop and go traffic for over 2 hours and not see a single animal during that time is frustrating. If you're lucky enough to get an animal, besides the deer which seem to make up 90% of the entire drive, to come up to your car they won't be there long with the park workers constantly driving past you and spooking them away. You know something's wrong when a line of over 15 cars willingly cut through a staff only shortcut to avoid the endless stop and go after paying the insanely steep admission price. Maybe if they would put some of that money towards the massively pothole littered road you could actually drive around some of the people who stop to feed the 276th deer for 15 minutes. If you find yourself near New Braunfels, Texas the drive through safari there is 100 times better.

Fossil rim is a great experience.
However, the price is outrageous! We came on a Sunday and they charge by person, $22 a person. They don't charge by the car, it's by person! And you only get one small bag of food per car..
This would be a 5 star experience, but the price is pure highway robbery...

Went on one of the hottest days so far. They open at 8:40 am. We Showed up at 8:40 am and the line of cars was already long. Bathrooms are closed due to COVID, instead there are portapotties. Cafe was serving to go only. You must wear a mask if you leave your car. We got a bag of food and still had some left cover at the end. The animals got super close. The giraffes were the only ones not interested, but by then it was past 9 am and it was HOT. Noticed a difference once it got super hot, the animals chose to stay in the shade and well we get it. So I recommend you get there early and try to go on a day that isn t over 100.

Very beautiful landscape, but lousy safari has nothing 0% recommendable I attended the one of Jacksonville first and I compared it with this and the truth is not amused the animals do not approach and when finally one in all the safari approached the security They ordered us to move forward ... I recommend the Jacksonville one if it's super nice, only it does not have giraffes but it does not need it since Fossil has them but when they get closer they are scared by those who care

Honestly, in my perspective I really didn't enjoy. 90% of the animals were either a deer or a goat. What should've taken us an hour ended up taking 4 hours because of the long queues. From what I experienced, I thought it was way overly priced.

It was amazing. Had family and friends down from Seattle and they absolutely loved it. One had been to Africa and been on a safari trip and said that it really reminded them of that experience.

What a brilliant idea! I have been on many African safaris and I just love this concept. The animals are from all over the world, some of which extinct in the wild. The animals come right up to the cars expecting food pellets. Unlike a real safari, you can see animals easily and up close and feed them. There are also many other things offered like youth education programs, lodging, special tours and special animal encounters. It is the best combination of a zoo, drive through safari and petting zoo. Be sure to bring your AAA membership card or Texas park pass to get discounts on admission.
