Fort McDowell Casino Reviews

I had a very unwelcoming experience at this casino. I do enjoy gambling so I visit many casinos in the southwest part of the United States. But this visit was mainly business focused. I was a hotel guest who had a backpack for my track needs & had agreed to check out of my hotel at 11AM. I was visiting for a work meeting so I still had business at the property. I wanted to gamble more, have lunch & spend more time at this casino. The place has a very strict rule on backpacks not being allowed. This would normally not be a problem but I had taken an Uber from the airport. So I had to keep my belongings on me or in a trust placed. I was asked to leave inside the property because of my travel bag being against policy. I like how I gambled $500+ of my own money & was not given some type of accommodation. Security would not even hold my bags or work with me on any level. So after being told no by a third person, I politely let their staff know I would speak with my boss who booked this location for our work conference about how unfairly I was treated. I let them know how unfriendly their policy is & I hope this review reflects that.

All you could eat lobster and prime rib....soooo good.

Slot set too tight spent $200 and never hit a anything

Buffet was too expensive for the offerings. However the slots were generous.

They don't have the all you can eat crab legs anymore

Wow, I tell you what, the pace is fast with a home town feel. I feel like a winner already. I registered for fortune club card, they gave me a free $25 just to play at my own will any game I wanted or games. Not a bad way to start. Then the food is not expensive, but is really good. So, you can see, I am a winner before I played even a nickel. What do you have to loose, only the $25 they give you. Also, there are a lot of nice looking people here. Yea, I mean the women I'm seeing that are all around me. You can't beat it.

Hello if you are looking for some fun Fort McDowell is the place to go games food music and dancing as well as getting a room and relaxing

Nice, but limited staff. Seriously needs remodel. Machines very tight.

As far as casinos go for the valley this one is the oldest. First the smoke is so thick you can't breath, the restaurant choices are not the best plus the employees at them are not given enough training. Wait times to order and then get your food are unacceptable. They do have quite a few new games which is nice and it felt clean there.

Winning money...Also, for myself, a way to destress.

Very pleasant and friendly we will come back unfortunately didn't win and thing but had a lot fun.

Great palace but you get no rewards for playing at there casino.

Bingo was very crowded. Waited in line for an hour to get cards. Also tried to ride the bus from Sun City West. Was instructed to wait in aisle 18 from the employees at Fort McDowell, but found out later the bus pick up was in aisle 8 after talking to the bus company. Tried to talk to manager was asked to come back or call later. Left my name and number been over a week no call back

Great restaurant's and even more fun ,employees are friendly and helpful, never had a bad experience, always great.

Great atmosphere with the friendliest staff. The one-armed bandits, however, vacuumed out my wallet like a new Hoover!

Asked for a mask, my elastic broke on mine. The employee puffed up rudely replied " don't you have one, it's required everywhere and not our responsibility to provide". I just spent $350. gambling, had to ask a slot attendent for beverage after sitting at same machine 3 hours. Been a member since they opened. Won't be returning!

I haven't been here in a long time. Was pleasantly surprised. We had a great time. We were able to play on slots of all denominations and the band was great.

The atmosphere was great. Want to stay at the hotel. I had a wonderful time. Want to go back.

Wat toooooo much cigarette smoke, needs much better ventilation. However the buffet was really nice and the service was good.

Inexpensive no limit hold em tournaments. Poker room is a bit dungy

Nice place ,,has good food and great games! This casino has plenty of New and Classic slots, something for eveyone.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! Machines seemed a bit more tight. Overall enjoyable time!

We went there to eat at the buffet, was not happy with quality of the food nor the price, 58.00 dollars for two. Played the slots on the way out and did not have any luck.

I like to go there and play BINGO with my wife.Yes she does go there more than me but I still like the go there once in a while so who knows I might see you there one night

I like this casino, but is a little older crowd. Kinda far for me, but overall one of my favorite casinos.

Went late in evening. Had my service dog with me. Staff not as friendly as Deserter Diamond where I usually go. Food expensive.

Too smokey & too many out dated slot machines. I was new and was given $15 free play (Great) only to realize I could only use it on the older slot machines. Staff were polite & restrooms were clean.

Nice place to hang out and relax. I enjoyed a free Garth tribute concert tonight with my wife. There is nice free live music on the weekends. I would recommend this place to get away and have some fun.

It's a great casino, but you can feel and smell the age of the casino. Very excited for the casino they are building next door. Ft. McDowell will always be my favorite.

UPDATE *********10/31/20?
I had the pleasure of spending 2 nights at the resort 10/17-19/20. As always the staff was extremely helpful. The room was spotless and all amenities were stocked.

Had a wonderful time in the casino and even won some money.

Ordered room service which was promptly delivered and and delicious.

I can't wait to stay again.

They opened a brand new casino on Oct 28. I hear it's pretty spectacular. I will probably go tonight to check it out.

Don't pass this jewel in the miuntains.

They need to know that the people are rude and just playing down right now be drivers don't know where they're going and people that work there just need a whole lot more training but now the people at the Chevron gas station are the awesome people no I will never return to Fort McDowell ever now the driver that drives the bus in the morning that picked up people at Walmart at 59th Avenue and Northern he was great but he deserves a 10 plus that everyone else he'll know have a nice day

The one thing I don't like is THE RECEPTION BAD I DON'T GET ANY PHONE SIGNAL PARKING IS TERRIBLE

Haven't been here for awhile. It was okay, clean, the workers were quite pleasant. Not many were winning. Long trip for me so wouldn't go that often.

Had a great time this time. Got to play for a while before losing the money I had allotted myself.

Machines not hitting. Some smoke from cigarettes. Buffet available.

The 4th of July fireworks show and event was the best we have ever seen. The presentation was fabulous! Parking was difficult but they did a good job.

Food is pretty low quality. Machines are worn out rsp wheel of fortune

I like the old school machines. I don't care how old the people are around me. I'm gambling not making friends. Only complaint is it takes forever to get a drink. Other than that its a casino I prefer . ;)

I played Bingo and a few slots, it and older casino, But they are going to be building a new casino and it supposed to done in 2020 sometime, So it will be nice to have a new Fort Mc Dow.

..stopped playing after not winning over several years...only go there to eat now. But, service at the cafe has deteriorated; I was ignored for over 10 minutes before I left. Days later I went back to give it another try, and......it seemed the waitress reluctantly served us, reeaally sloow. The food is good tho, service has gotten poor.

So smoky, hard to get a beverage as I think they had one drink cart the whole night. Not a place I would come back to for fun.

Love this place!! We had a good time!! The food is awesome!!
