I respect our boys in blue but the way they issue weapon permits is absolutely ridiculous compared to the old way. What use to take me 30 minutes is almost a 2 month wait... First you have to wait until your appointment date and you would think you would leave with your permit that day but no! You're just there to apply for a weapon purchase permit and having to wait another 10 to 12 days. This is not convenient or innovative.
I had to get live scan fingerprints done here, and the whole process was so easy and quick! I was in and out in probably less than 20 minutes. The staff I interacted with were pleasant and efficient. As long as you have your necessary paperwork ready, you shouldn't have any issues.
Quick and easy. No issues. Went around 10am on a Tuesday to apply for a gun permit. I had my paperwork filled out in advance. In and out in 5 minutes. All three people I dealt with were polite and friendly.
Update: I went two weeks later to the day around 1 or 2 PM to pick up the permits. Same thing in and out no problems.
I think it is great to get people up off the couch and outside.
However, I would like to know how it is that you created this game and placed these "creatures" on private property without getting permission from the owners?
And if a owner of private property wants you to remove your markers/hot spots etc, how can that be accomplished?
So I received a speeding ticket from the Forsyth County Sherriff's Department, which, shame on me!
But in the course of receiving the ticket, I was approached by a Deputy who was maskless and came within just a foot or so of my face.
I do not understand why the general populace has to work so hard and make very difficult decisions about masking (including business, churches, and schools) but our Sherriff's deputies can ignore social distancing without wearing masks.
It is no wonder the general population is frustrated about masks. Fair ought to be fair.
Traffic backed up for miles because 2 sheriff's cars slowed to 1 mph on business 40 just after the 66 exit heading to winston. There was no warning or suggested alternate route. When I asked the officer what was going on he was very rude. I asked if there was any road work keeping is from the next exit to get off. He said you'll get there when we let you. Very unproffesional and poorly handled.
Every employee I had contact with was extremely well informed . The facility is very clean and everyone was very friendly. Thank you for all of you service
Reading some of these reviews of "Racist" is absurd. Never once have I seen anyone in the Dept act unbecoming. Most likely group think social justice warrior manics who scream racism when they don't get their way.
The amount of unnecessary bashing these folks tolerate is worth a 100k salary.

A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE FORSYTH COUNTY SHERRIFFS OFFICE SAME DAY FRAUD-THEFT DISCOVERED. (GRAND THEFT-A FELONY). WITH IN 24 HOURS THE REPORT WAS CLOSED. THE ONLY INFORMATION ON THE SO CALLED INVESTIGATION SHEET GAVE THE OFFICER ( JL MOSER (2723). WAS HER NAME, ADDRESS, AND THE WORD FRAUD. IT MADE NO MENTION OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES, NOR THE EXTENSIVE NOTES AND RESEARCH "J" HAD MADE PRIOR TO THE CALL. THERES MUCH MORE TO THE STORY...
We will continue with this case, other complaints will be filed in Raleigh and If this sheriff runs again, I will work for any opposition to him.

Permits are not by apt. anymore, you come in, take a number, wait a few minutes, then in and out. A much improved process over they way it was several years back. This Sheriff's Office is a professional agency from the bottom to the top. It is one of the very few accredited Sheriff's Offices in the entire State which makes a positive statement about the level of professionalism. This Office is a large Sheriffs Office with over 500 employees in lots of different positions from school services to making the community safe. Could not help but notice how some of the negative reviews/posts, seemed to arise out of one family situation and that's unfortunate and hopefully an isolated instance.
Glad to have my permit to carry, but for $95, I expected an actual plastic (hard) card...not this flimsy little piece of paper that I have to laminate myself.
