Forrest County Health Dept. Review

People are so rude over the phone. I can only imagine what it is like in the inside . Very unprofessional!

Nice people but poorly understaffed. After waiting over an hour I had to leave. The State of Mississippi needs to better fund this office.

Went there today for my son to get shots. We arrived at 3pm and finally got to check in at 3:25 after the receptionist got done catching up with her friend that was in front of us. The lady at the reception desk was very rude. After sitting for over a hour she calls me up there only to tell me that my child would not be getting his shots today. When I asked why she said that she wasn't going to be late picking her child up from daycare again because she couldn't afford the late fees. I then informed her that I took off work to do this as I work in the health care field as well and she said that wasn't her problem to come back Thursday. There was 3 other people that came in behind us and they was called up there and I formed they was going to get there shots they just had a little bit of a wait. The receptionist was African American and everyone else In there was as well except me and my son. I know she refused my son his shots and sent us away because of our race. That lady was just down right racist. I'm calling Jackson first thing in the morning as well as a lawyer.

The service that I received here is very nice, Doctors are very friendly and helpful.

Went in to get shot records and updated shots for school since I was going to be leaving for school and living on campus. I was on a time crunch and they really helped me meet all my deadlines. Got to school and was still missing some files and they faxed them right on over. I m thankful

I had a terrible experience here. I was having some issues with my newborn daughter's insurance (initially set up with the wrong effective date, big mess), so I went ahead and made her an appointment at the health department to get her shots instead of going through the doctor's office. She was almost nine weeks old when we went. They refused to give her her shots because she was born on 07/30 and it was 09/29. According to them, I would have to wait one more day. Again, she had been two months old for five days when we went. The woman who scheduled the appointment in the first place did not see fit to tell me that. Moreover, they couldn't fit me in the next day, and the first available appointment was October 11. Meanwhile, my child does not have her vaccinations and is susceptible to all manner of horrible illnesses. The woman I spoke to was not apologetic or sympathetic at all. She did not seem to care about my wasted time and effort or the fact that my baby is being put at risk. I will never go back here again if I can help it. Hoping baby's insurance is ironed out and we can get in to see the doctor in timely manner!

My experience was Completely awful.. I called to get immunization records sent to me because I moved out of state. They told me I had to fax them a request first. They gave me three different fax numbers and I still haven t received the immunization records. Don t waste your time.

Very poor and rude service. The staff doesn t communicate with each other and they take much longer than necessary. Would never recommend.
