the hotel is located in a beautiful bay but expensive. Supposed to be all inclusive but many extras ask for pay. The slides are prefect for childs. Service is good although we had to spend the night without air conditioning. Bottom line we enjoyed staying two nights but cost is not reasonable.
good rooms; over crowded and stretched facilities; many tour groups....not enough sun beds around the pool; main pool is too small; not a 5 star hotel; def not a place to relax; staff have no idea real what comes with the 5 star rating and come across rude at times but think more a case of under training; beach towels can only be changed once a day between 10-12 in the main building and have to be carried around at all other times; beach buffet serves same 3 dishes every day On the positive side - many events; entertainers and activities; beach is nice; Dinner and lunch in main restaurant are good;
Fodele Beach & Water Park Holiday Resort is located 30 km away on the northwest side of Heraklion city on the Crete island. You can reach it in less than half an hour by taxi, there is plenty of car renting options at the airport though. Also apparently public transportation is available.
Fodele provides a special level of holiday service in either hotel facilities or customer courtesy so that you never worry about anything except how to enjoy your stay! We got our room in an all-inclusive package so that we were using most of the hotel services free of charge. You will receive a complete description and manual at the hotel reception at arrival plus a nice mobile app that guides you through the hotel facilities and places. The resort is placed on top of a beautiful hill with a dedicated sand beach.
There are some restaurants with different recipes and designs so that you can get your desired food and drinks at any time of the day and taste various flavors; plus several bars with nice service.
You find three swimming pools in the main area of the hotel plus some other ones in the water park section at the top of the hill. They are clean and beautiful surrounded by plenty of sunbeds ready to enjoy the sun.
They offer a full range of activities and entertainment either for adults or children so that you can always find a lovely activity to enjoy.
Among all, I can name particularly their nice staff, delicious food, lovely beach and high quality of service. I strongly recommend the place and looking forward to backing there next year.
What a perfect holiday. Fodele Beach is ideal: lots of options from beach with paddle boarding to jet skiing available, noisy "fun" pool with music and activities, quiet "adult" pool where you can hear the waves crack. Heated pool if needed, but wasn't in August. And of course the water slides; 9 slides to choose from, with few queues, well life guarded. Bars everywhere so staying hydrated isn't an issue, endless food in the all inclusive restaurants, a bookable a la carte restaurant or BBQ for variation. The spa is great for massage, pedicure and splinter removal The staff everywhere are excellent, friendly, helpful, unobtrusive and professional. The scenery is barren but beautifully so, the weather is cloudless with plenty of shade available as required.
The only improvements that are possible are more information provided about booking food and such, also no point saying reserving sun loungers isn't allowed if it's not enforced. That said, we were always able to find a spot in the shade even if not exactly where we wanted to be.
I would recommend this place to anyone who wants variety, activity and relaxed uncomplicated in their holiday
An excellent summer holiday resort on the northern cost of Crete. The resort has fancy pools, all inclusive food and beverages with great choices for all flavors especially kids. The rooms are nicely decorated with a garden balcony towards the small bay. There are evening shows organized in the lobby and an open bar till 2300. The highlight is by far the pools, the 1800-2300 arcade and the exciting water park with 7 excellent slides and many pools and chill out areas. The lowlight is the room location, try being close to the main building where the pool and restaurants are or prepare for some stairs exercise.
Don't come here if you do not have children of your own to add to the 470+ minors who stay here with their shattered parents during the summer months. Refurbished (2017) rooms are scattered up steepish hill (fun train will carry you and your inflatable beach toys up the slope every 20 mins). Enormous self-service restaurant with surprisingly good food and all-inclusive drinks. However, common areas are tired, and despite the hard work of kind and patient staff, many parts of the huge complex feels like a camping site. This charter holiday hotel is 5* due to the vast range of amenities, not because anything feels particularly luxurious.
Great for all the family. We went in May and lovely weather, around 28 degrees. Water slides are amazing and well run. Beach is so close and sea is warm. Lovely views all around. Also a lot of water sports available - my favourite was the peddlo! Pools are a nice temperature and not too crowded. Bars have lots of nice drinks. Our room was very nice with lovely views out of the window. The buffets have nice staff and the food was nice too. I would strongly recommend this place
Excellent place for a family holiday. Water park is excellent, pools all great and plenty of sunbeds. Downsides are rocks underfoot as you enter the see (ouch!) and the lack of bar staff in the evenings make for huge queues and long waits.
