The guys at Flythe don't seem like they know too much about bikes or various brands. They were unfamiliar with Salsa, which is a pretty big name. (Salsa's a subsidiary of QBP so I'm not sure how a bike shop would not know about them.) I asked them if my stem was part of a recall, and they had no idea or interest in finding out. I brought it in to Allstar Bikes, and they immediately called the manufacturer to find out if my stem was part of the recall.
They sold my sister brakes that wore out in less than a month (and, no, she doesn't ride the brakes or do an extreme amount of riding). Also note Flythe's brakes were more expensive than a longer-lasting alternative from Allstar Bikes.
They replace the headset on my sister's bike. A few days later the whole front fork and handle bars started wobbling significantly. She brought it back to Flythe and they told her nothing was wrong with it, there was a 'break-in period for new headsets'. Yeah right. So, she brought it to Allstar and they told her that whoever had replaced the headset had stripped out the star nut.
Moral of the story: Flythe doesn't know what they're doing, Allstar does.
