FKCC sent me to a debt collector for classes I *NEVER* attended... I sent them a letter explaining the circumstances, they not only did not respond, but sent the $2000 I owed to collections. No respect for veterans, obviously, and a huge for-profit that honestly feels like a scam. Very sad.

Having graduated from The College of the Florida Keys with an Associates Degree in Marine Biology in 1972, when the institution was called Florida Keys Community College, I was pleased to see how the campus has grown since that time. It is also encouraging that the College has launched a unique Marine Science Degree Program. Jack Stein Grove, PhD

Communication between students and academic advisers is near nonexistent. They never seem to answer the phone and they take multiple days to return phone calls if they even bother returning calls.

Great place for adults to go lap swimming! Clean and well maintained pool, very calm ambiance and reasonable prices and good schedule that makes it easy to work out for most. So thankful for this pool.

Pursing a degree as a registered nurse. The campus is gorgeous. There are palm trees everywhere and it's located on the water so the views of the ocean are spectacular. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, from all levels. Staff in high positions such as the dean of nursing take the time to interact and get to know the students. Jared in the bookstore always takes the time to help you get the best deal. Destination catering runs the cafe and the food is delicious with great service. The program had one of the highest passing NCLEX rates in the state, and the college just approved a BSN program. FKCC has been nothing but fantastic.

Ah, yes...FKCC, or as I like to call it the "Harvard of all of the colleges in the Florida Keys." It's actually a great little community college with a reasonable amount of academic programs offered for its size. Smaller class sizes allow for more one on one interaction with instructors. Some of the staff can be a bit pokey in Student Services, but that's life in the Keys. Facilities are nice and up to date. I can't comment on the campus dorms as I do not live there. The writing and math labs in the library are awesome for additional tutoring too.

If you have a child with a disability, then this is NOT the place for your child. We thought it was, just like many parents thought it was. Many parents paid for certain services and never receiving those services. Nice campus but some of the staff and policies need to be changed. Most parents were told the cost would be close to $17, 000 and it was closer to $24,000 (that's living on campus with the meal plan). Some student mentors do a good job and some don't do anything, but the school will still charge you for it regardless. If your child has a disability, then you're gonna want to find another program and there are many out there.
