I've been at Florida Tech since 2014, starting with my BS in Aviation Management, MSA in Airport Development and now PhD in Aviation Sciences, and there's a plain and simple reason I've stayed on - the feeling of home.

The College of Aeronautics at Florida Tech houses some of the best aviation programs from around the world. The professors are excellent, and you gain real industry knowledge, and you'll be ready to step into a job the day after your graduation.

Yes, a school is a business that needs to fund itself, so there are expenses involved in going to Florida Tech, but hey - you get what you pay for! Most negative reviews would generally involve the cost factor, but I can assure you that it is worth every penny to attend Florida Tech.

First. This place has its ups & downs. But one thing s for sure, they provide quality education as good as Ivy leagues. 80% of Professors are great at teaching. Some will even be the reason youre passionate about you re major.

Downside to this place is the QS ranking(doesn t exist on there). But they make up to that by being well known in the community & having connections with big engineering companies.

I graduated may2020 with an Bsc in ME. & am now getting my masters at UCI in MAE. Let me tell you I study with students from berkely & UCSD & I am just as knowledgeable as they are or even better at times.

One of the downsides is the extremely expensive university housing which you re forced as an international student to stay in for 1 year.

Wish FIT imvested a bit more on better parking lol.

Best 4 years of my life. Even though Melbourne is extremely boring. Orlando & miami are 1 & 2:30 hours away.

Don t ever estimate the quality of education FIT is providing. I once did & now know better. Take up that panther pride.

One last thing. You ll get to see rockets taking off every couple weeks from campus. Nasa & cape canaveral are 40mins away.

Administrative nightmare. My daughter started her freshman year this past January. Made the 1200 mile trek to bring her to FIT, and less than 24 hours notice of new students registration they made the announcement classes would be online. . We tried calling the school, but their phone system was down. So we didn t know if she was able to be on campus are not and we had already spent a day and a half traveling. Then billing was a nightmare, signing up for classes was a pain. She couldn t sign up for classes because of a glitch in the system stating she hadn t provided her health form, but she had, and since the phone system wasn t working it was very difficult to deal with. Orientation was a joke. She was given the wrong mailbox #, she wasn t told how to access her suite to get into her dorm. Complete chaos. Now summer session comes. I pay the bill, received another bill for the same session, still need to clear it up when she gets locked out of her summer class for owing another (3rd bill) $325. I guess the $2200 I paid wasn t enough and all she gets is two online classes and I still have to clear up a $1995 she doesn t owe. And to make matters worse, she went there for flight school, and she got a whomping 4 flights over 5 months. Not worth the almost $30000 we have sunk into this pathetic education.

Love and enjoy my classes (Psych major), but the thing is that I feel alone and it's hard to make even one friend, making it get lonely. I hope FIT will create more events and activities so that students can come together.

I had a reason to explore the campus of Florida Institute of Technology as about 20 of our freshmen at the Japanese university where I was teaching attended a three-week long language training program at the campus, while they stayed with individual families. My visit was planned long enough in advance, and I received a warm welcome from the university staff and from the faculty and director of the English Language Institute, where our students were studying.
During my multi-day stay in Melbourne, I was able to go along to some of their classes and also attend one of their on-campus field trips, in which they visited the department of Aeronautical Sciences. It's a very modern, sprawling campus. As a visitor, I was given a parking pass to either park in the parking structure at the main entrance (see photo) or to use the student parking zones anywhere on campus. Our students who studied at FIT enjoyed their experience at the English Language Institute very much, and I was able to see their final research presentations at the end of their short-term study since I arrived for the last 3 days of their stay.
