I can t really comment on the negative reviews I ve seen but I can tell you my experience. This company has helped us through three difficult times and has always been responsive and honest. They are not the cheapest for homeowners insurance but they have always been there when we needed them.

We suffered hail damage to our roof and called them on a Wednesday. By Saturday, OF THAT SAME WEEK, we had a check for damages which covered a new roof (minus the deductible).

We also had lightning strike our house and the damage was devastating. TV s, cable boxes, two HVAC systems, light fixtures, outlets, security system, irrigation system, A/V equipment, and more. We were miserable, stressed and aggravated. We had to deal with the overwhelming process of calling all the various services to deal with the damage. The one shining light was the ease of the claim process with Florida Family. Our agent was empathetic and helpful. We still had a deductible but we didn t have to deal with a bad insurance company. Replacing and fixing all of those things was awful. But Florida Family was fair to us.

I will never leave this company because they supported us in our worst of times. They didn t question us or give us a hard time. So I will gladly pay their higher premiums because they backed my family when it counted. Florida Family has my back

They initially lie to you regarding what they will...

They initially lie to you regarding what they will cover when you file your claim. Later in the process they will deny most of the coverage they promised AND say they didn t lie to you because they have a policy of constant reassessment.
PATHETIC!!!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

We have only been with Florida Family since Nov 20...

We have only been with Florida Family since Nov 2019 and this was only because the last company we were with filed Chapter 11. In January we had to file a claim because water started leaking like a waterfall through our garage ceiling coming from one of our upstairs bathrooms. We were very pleased that an insurance adjuster came to our house and explained everything to us, however that was the extent of anything positive from them. They sent us a check so that we could start repairing the damage. We then received a letter within 3 weeks telling us that they were cancelling our policy. They included photos that we do not know when they took, instead of focusing on the damage from the claim. They put a picture of the fence and said it was old (which by the way we told the insurance adjuster when he was here that we had a company coming to install a new vinyl fence in the next couple of days and it has been installed), they included a picture of some rotten wood on the outside of our home, they said that the shed had rust on the roof, and that the garage ceiling had areas that looked like they had prior damage (part of this was an area that would need to be fixed from the claim that was filed.) We never received a call from anyone, only a letter giving us about 2 1/2 weeks to find another insurance company. My husband immediately fixed everything they complained about, except for the shed (which he was prepared to tear down if they requested). He then called Florida Family and told them he had made the repairs that they complained about - their response was that it didn't matter because we had filed a claim within 90 days of the start of our policy so they were cancelling us. If they were any type of professional company they would have called us with their concerns and allowed us a designated time period to fix them - we would have been more than happy to fix their concerns. It seems like it is getting harder and harder to find companies that are professional anymore - most are only concerned about their profit. WHY IN THE WORLD DO WE EVEN PAY FOR HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE IF WE CAN'T FILE A CLAIM???? We have been homeowners for a little over 20 years and in all those years we have filed 3 claims, one of which was because of Hurricane Charley, another one because a hose burst in our kitchen and soaked a good majority of our bottom kitchen cabinets, and this last one was because a dry rotted gasket that we knew nothing about and this happened after we had re-plumbed our entire house only 1 and 1/2 years prior. After all of this it sounds like Florida Family only wants people paying for their policies and never filing any claims. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I have worked with Florida Family as an insurance agent for many years. We place a lot of business with them for a number of reasons but the main reason is that they pay claims. We have never had one single complaint about them. Let's face it, the reason you have insurance is because you want them to be there when you need them! They are!

Florida family has been synonymous with quality claims and fair pricing for over 20 years. In the 15 years I have personally dealt with Florida Family I have had nothing but positive experiences with claims and customer service. In a chaotic Florida insurance climate Florida Family stands strong in the face of adversity and makes good on their promise of coverage. Kudos to the entire team.
