About Florida collegiate summer league
The Florida Collegiate Summer League (FCSL) is a non-profit organization that provides college baseball players with an opportunity to showcase their skills during the summer months. The league is partially funded by Major League Baseball and has six teams that compete in Central Florida.
The FCSL was founded in 2003 and has since become one of the premier summer collegiate baseball leagues in the country. The league's mission is to provide college players with a high-quality, competitive environment where they can develop their skills and gain valuable experience.
One of the unique aspects of the FCSL is its focus on community involvement. Each team in the league partners with local businesses and organizations to promote family-friendly events and activities throughout the season. This not only helps to build a strong fan base but also provides players with opportunities to give back to their communities.
In addition to providing players with a chance to improve their skills, the FCSL also offers valuable networking opportunities. Many former FCSL players have gone on to play professionally or work within Major League Baseball organizations.
The six teams that make up the FCSL are located throughout Central Florida, including Winter Park, Sanford, Leesburg, DeLand, Altamonte Springs, and Clermont. Each team plays a 42-game schedule during June and July before culminating in a championship series at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
One of the key benefits of playing in the FCSL is its affordability for families looking for entertainment during summer months. Tickets are reasonably priced compared to other sporting events making it accessible for everyone who wants an enjoyable evening out watching some great baseball games.
Overall, The Florida Collegiate Summer League provides an excellent opportunity for college baseball players looking for quality competition while developing their skills over summer break while providing affordable family-friendly entertainment options throughout Central Florida communities!
