On my 30-ish time going here I went on a Thursday. Not a ton of people on the river. We weren't hassled by anyone. It's hard to make a negative experience out of floating down a river in a tube on a beautiful sunny day. Met the owner and he is a stand up guy. Sometimes other reviewers try to find fault with anyone and anything.

Before booking - note the following.

Before booking - note the following.

There is a $20 recycling cash deposit that you only get $10 back if you follow the rules. No way to avoid this. (No recycling dumpsters are seen - you clean up everything yourself)

They have a loudspeaking system that goes off with a rooster/trumpet to wake everyone up in the morning. No idea why.

They drive huge buses around to pick everyone up at the campsite. Note - these don't take you to the river. They take you to the camp site entrance. It's a 1min drive. If you bring your own tubes, you still have to pay for theirs. No way to just pay for a shuttle to the river.

Slow check-out process. They radio down to confirm your site was left clean. This is to get your $10 refund back from the $20.

Custom floats may or may not be allowed. We took out own custom ones but it was a hustle.

Would recommend no one stay here and stay at a campground closer to the river. One without a PA/alarm system. Apple river itself, was awesome. We rode a giant swan, unicorn and rooster blowup tubes and has a blast. Will do river again, not at this site though.

Their website says fun for the family but they have no problem making you wait over an hour to get a ride down to the river and only then tell you there is an age limit. Not sure what it is exactly cuz they didn't seem sure but a 9 month old died on the river in the past they said so no infants. Totally understandable. Just make that clear before we have 10 other kids from our group at the babysitter's an hour away and have been patiently waiting an hour for the bus to get there. Also they only take cash and a "cooler tube" is literally a tube. Bring your own cooler. And you need to leave an id for the tube rental and your keys for all your vehicles.

I went here when young. I am not sure if it is a completely different time, but I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY FAMILY. I was excited to bring my high school kids, it was a very quiet afternoon. It was posted that Weekends were not appropriate for families. I am thinking there is no time that is ok for families! The river itself was quiet. We ran into just a few other tu era. One group made inappropriate remarks about my 14 year old daughter. Bad enough, but as we floated by the campground, there was COMPLETELY inappropriate signs and a very large phal** symbol on top of a camper. I am not sure what kind of campground allows this. Not at all family friendly.

Despite what others have said, I had a great time when I stayed at Float Rite!!! It was so much fun meeting the people next to us, the bathrooms were clean, the employees were nice. I would definitely recommend staying here, I know I will!
