We had a group of 20 which streched the kitchen but food was good and huge portion sizes

This is a well-known restaurant with the locals, especially for the airport viewing lawn. With new management in place, we decided to check out their new renovations and of course the planes. We visited for dinner and requested a table outside. We were joined by some friends and it was a perfect location for our young children to roam and watch the planes.

Staff were extremely friendly and food was prompt after we ordered. We ordered a mix of items from the menu, including dips, calamari, garlic prawns, chicken parmigiana, chicken runway burger and spaghetti for the kids. The food was well presented and portion sizes were great. I enjoyed the calamari and garlic prawns. These were the highlight dishes for us. I would definitely recommend them.

After a short time of operating under new management, they re doing a great job! We definitely look forward to returning, especially because my son enjoyed watching the planes.

Nice decore ,good parking, nice view of planes coming and going. Has a casual area and a nice bar. Also a nice set up dining area with white tablecloths. Coffee available our meal was lunch first visit since reopened . We had Lasagna with salad very tasty but rather a small serve. Will visit again staff very friendly.

Since the new management took over a couple of months ago this place has done a complete about-face. The food is good quality and tastes fantastic. Pricing is standard for a cafe with some low-cost options for the students in the area (which do not compromise on quality). Plus the view can't be beat, you look straight out at the runways! I highly recommend giving this place another shot.

I found the refurbishing of the Flight Deck very appealing along with the service and the food will definitely be going back there.

Probably the worst coffee (if you would call it coffee) that I have ever had. Restaurant has gone downhill since I used to frequent. Outdated and rundown looking. Chips and view of planes are the only redeeming parts of this experience..

A great little pub / grill located on the airfield with views of the runway. The apron is basically right in front so views of aircraft are good. Food is okay for an airfield

Really friendly barman and a good range of very well priced lunch menu items. Small range of tap beers but all good brews.
Perfect for flyers passing through or locals in need of a good Melbourne coffee.

Worst dining experience, food were horrible: uncooked pasta with precooked prawn, wagyu beef burger, the beef patty was defrosted in microwave oven and tasted like thick rubber...

Most Fridays a group of school mum's from the local area try new places for lunch! After being recommended by good friends to go and try lunch at Flight Deck I was really looking forward to it. The menu options were great that I found it hard to choose just one thing so I decided to share 3 different plates with a friend. The first was the Bruchetta ( one piece of Vienna type bread grilled with cheese and topped with two slices of tomato definitely not the bruchetta I imagined but ok!!) next was pumpkin arancini balls ( these were Luke warm but they tasted ok! Ruined by pouring uncooked cold sauce over the top ) next was a main serve of calamari. I thought it came with chips but I misread this.$26 got me 12 pieces of calamari and some salad , calamari was cooked well and tasted good. Another friend got the entree calamari hers was on a smaller plate but for $18 she got exactly the same 12 pieces of calamari and salad. I couldn't help but ask why this was! We were told after some time that it was based on weight and the lady that plated ours didn't realise it was a main so gave us the same amount as an entree size but on a main plate. What ever the case was part of me feels that, had my friend not got the entree we would have been none the wiser and paid the $26. We were not charged the $26 but the $18 after bringing this to the waitress attention. Not sure I would come back any time soon.

Looking for a new eatery? You cant go past Flight deck bar and grill.

Everyone from the owner through to the staff are friendly and welcoming.

This restaurant is an episode out of hells kitchen. Can not stress enough how bad the food and service was. Do not order garlic bread as it has been sitting in the freezer for years. Same goes to the burger which was cooked in a microwave.

We had our sons 6th birthday at Flight Deck last month. It is a place and all the staff are fantastic but particularly Ashlee the functions manager who did an amazing job.

Great place to enjoy lunch watching the planes from Moorabbin airport. Located at the airport next to the King island airlines.

We both had the steaks, which were cooked to perfection and served along with veggies & chips. The meals were generous, fresh, tasty & reasonably priced. Good selection of beers and wines.

The service was excellent and meals came out quickly considering there were a couple of large groups celebrating their Christmas parties. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning in the new year :)

The live music trio, CCM topped off a perfect afternoon of great food and atmosphere. CCM are apparently here last Sunday of every month. I'll be here in January and every month after that. The perfect Sunday afternoon mixing aviation, great music and food.

Long wait times - we came to eat at 12:30. Sitting here on the table at 2:21 and still waiting for the food!!! Do they only have one chef?
Uncleanliness - A burger we received had a long red hair. Yuck...
Poor Hospitality - The wait staff literally came to our table once. Did not ask whether we wanted more drinks for 2 HOURS!!! Water was finished too...
Food - Our initial order was denied after 20 mins of waiting because they did not have the ingredients to make it. We have to pick an alternative dish. I pick the spicy chicken burger. After 2 hours I finally had the burger. The burger was made using a hotdog bun. Surprise surprise they had run out of buns.

Honestly save your money. Go somewhere else. Ain t nobody got 3 hours to have lunch!

The staff are friendly and the best of all would be the view that overlooks the ramp. It just goes well while dining-in. Keep it going and good job!!

Good quality and portions; pub style food. Unfortunately didn't get to see any planes. Shame that this place doesn't seem very busy despite its warm environment and prompt staff. Seems like a missed opportunity to focus on RAAF history and create a unique experience.

I was there about 3 weeks ago and the food they served my colleague was poor quality obviously microwaved.

My own food served to me was late getting to me. The Old blond lady seemed nice enough on the day but I later overheard her giving a staff member a hard time.... obviously not so nice.

True colours showing through....

I will not be eating there again and would not recommend it to others.

Food ok for the price but the place is a bit out of date. Service was average and no atmosphere. Would be great to have an outdoor seating area and some live display of moving aircraft.

Very pleasant, sitting outside alongside the moorabbin airport. Quiet on a Sunday evening. Nice service, yummy tasting plate and even got to see a light plane take off!

Kritesh gave great service and the potato wedges were amazing!

Really decent food for a decent price, we had the chef's testing platter. I would definitely come back sometime in the future. :) Great seating, and quiet environment.

Too soon to rate as I've not had lunch here yet. I went there only for a coffee to explore and it took a while to get the coffee and it was mildly cold when it arrived. The plus is the newly renovation.

LOVE THIS PLACE. The Food and drinks are SO AFFORDABLE with the best views. It has been completely renovated recently and the atmosphere is laid back and calming. You can watch the flights come in and out from all sections of the venue!! To top it off, The new management are so friendly and welcoming, they came across very passionate about hospitality and service! Honestly worth the trip even if you're not a local. Worst experience ever. Food cold and inedible. Service atrocious and slow. No watermelon on the table and staff unwilling to communicate. Do not bother going. EVER!
