Cauliflour mash was superb. Great service. Large windows create nice ambience.
Great food, service & atmosphere.......i have never liked bread pudding ( have tried it many times in various places) but they have changed my mind.
This place is alright. I would give it more stars if I wouldn't have had the experience I did. We went for the first time and when we got there they gave us the lunch menu and we went over for about 10-15 minutes and when they took our order they said they gave us the wrong menu and handed us the dinner menu. I believe it was only 11:45. The dinner menu had absolutely no vegan or vegetarian options other than a side of fries or mixed vegetables. The lunch menu had a good bit of options that can be veganized so I was pretty disappointed. I ended up ordering a side of fries and asked for no parmesan to be put on it but they still added it anyways.
good burger, $ 18. $ 10 would have been plenty. Food and service very good, everything overpriced.
Flatiron has long been one of our favorite restaurants in the Lake Norman area, but it just got even better; they started offering a weekend brunch menu. We went this morning and had a truly elevated, brunch experience. Bloody Marys, one of my favorites, come with all the traditional garnishes like lemon, lime, celery, pickled vegetables, etc; but you can also opt for more exotic add-ons like candied bacon and jumbo shrimp.
My husband got the "very" french toast and it was very French and very good. For the toast, they use french baguette and dip in egg with cinnamon and vanilla. Before serving, it is dusted with powdered sugar, but the most delightful surprise is that the accompanying warm maple syrup is lightly infused with rosemary. C'est Magnifique. The home fried potatoes were also very satisfying; the potatoes are cut into perfect little cubes, fried very crispy and tossed with sauteed onions and peppers.
I had the steak & eggs. The flank steak was beautifully seasoned and grilled, and the sunny side up eggs were also perfectly cooked. Amazingly, however, my favorite part of the dish were the parmesan yellow grits with creamed kale. I could of eaten a whole plate of it.
Service was very good and we felt good about the adherence to safety standards relative to Covid-19. All staff wore masks, inside tables were appropriately distanced and there was plenty of outdoor seating.
Part of Tour de Food Davidson. Delicious. Trendy place,
A little pricey, but nice atmosphere & great service!
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Must try the duck.
Love the atmosphere here. Great food for an affordable price. It's at an amazing location in downtown Davidson. This place is great for some weekend drinks too.
Really enjoyed the overall atmosphere, menu, and drinks. The service could have been a slight bit better but truly can't complain much about that. I liked that they are very accommodating to small diners as they provide crayons, coloring pages and drinks in plastic cups. Good for the whole family!
Wonderful food.3 entrees all very good, decent wine list, staff very friendly and knowledgeable, not the best service a little slow, could see prep station one woman looked way less than thrilled to be there but will return without hesitation
Nice place used a Groupon very friendly and helped with my wheel chair ans seeved us fast food was delish chef waa from my old town in ny
Cookies and cream white Russian, best ever! Thanks Tony..
Food has generally been consistent and good. Menu has been somewhat stagnant. The food is pricey particularly for portion size. Wine is pricey.
Over priced
Limited selection
Very noisy
Food was good
Food and beer selection was wonderful. Attentive service.
Burger and fries were very tasty. Nice selection of beer on tap. Service was fast and friendly.
5 stars mainly because the couple next to us was having a bad first date.... now that's entertainment!!! Hope they both find a good match.
$22 dollar burger was overcooked, salmon tasted like tuna from a can, and kids "penne pasta" was boiled macaroni elbows with no sauce. This place should be embarrassed for charging these price for this quality of food.
A few weeks ago we are at Flat Iron and had our usual flatiron burger and a couple appetizers. Our burger which was normally excellent was rather disappointing. We had voiced our opinion to Jason the restaurant owner and he insisted we come back and enjoy the flatiron burger that would meet our expectations. Thank you Jason for your hospitality and dinning this evening. The burger is how we always remembered it, very good. We also had the mussels which were fantastic and first time we had, and saw wings on the menu. They were also very good. A must have experience!
Food here is delicious and wait staff is very friendly. I wish the menu had more options but the available food is delicious.
Good food, space is somewhat loud, difficult to hear.
Atmosphere, service, and the meal was great. Excellent selection of local crafts. We ll be back!
Not only do we love the pretzels, deviled eggs, sliders and burger, and so much more, we love that Flatiron contributes to community by donating to the local school! Thank you Flatiron for your generous donation for the Girls Night Out Raffle tonight!
Initial experience was not so great. Unfortunately they over cooked the childrens steaks and took near 20 minutes to replace them. Although they comped their meals, it takes only 3-5 mins to cook a med rare 4oz steak. Appetizer was average at best, didn't live up to the hype as presented. Dinner special was sold out at 630pm
My entree was good don't get me wrong. It could have just been a bad day for them.
Will try again, but not blown away with first impression.
Awesome restaurant with great food...local grown food and a small menu but every dish was excellent and the chef really thinks about what sides and sauces compliment the main focus of the dish!!! Keep it up...we will always b back for the food!!!!
Great tasting food, sweet hostess, cranky server
Nice atmosphere
Good service, excellent food prep, not a great deal of variety, but clearly well prepared and the presentation was good! The catfish & salad were excellent as were the fried green tomatoes & deviled eggs. I will go back again for sure.
Very accommodating to kids and a solid all around menu.
Great food, decent beer list. Would definitely go back.
Flatiron is a great spot in downtown Davidson. They have a great menu, everything I've tried on there was delicious, they have a great beer and drink selection. They are a little on the pricey side, but all of Davidson is.
The best fish n chips in North Carolina by far. Service and atmosphere 10/10.
We d love to come back again because the food was ok but $23 for a small salad was a little overpriced. Sorry but I think we ll try other nearby restaurants. We also had to go to the bar twice to get straws and salt/pepper because not a server was to be found.
You can't come here and not have fries! The best fries I've had!
I went for lunch and it was not crowded at all. The service was great and prompt. I highly recommend the burger!
It was my first time visit but it won't be my last. Try the Blowfish!
Really enjoyed all their selections great service a d drinks
Had a local take me here a couple times and the food was excellent! The pork chop is on point, only suggestion I might give is to ask for more of the glaze sauce . Atmosphere is warm and inviting, music could be a bit loud but not so bad to run you off or anything - I'm just a quite talker and listener. Very nice service all the way around, host and server. Great place!
Flatiron is the guy that moves in down the block, and seems like he has it made. He's got the cool toys, an edgy but modern home, and is upfront about his refined tastes. But then you get to know him and he spends all his money on his image without much substance to show for it.
Nice place with well executed if unimaginative menu. Frankly overpriced for a step above a normal bar and grill, with merely acceptable service/attention. You can count on a good meal, but you have to ask for what you need and you won't be telling your friends about anything but the large bill.
Great shrimp and grits and pork chop in very cool building.
Really quite good food for the money. I like the Salmon Burger on Tuesday's. Its quite delicious with the artisan bun. Try their roasted veggies substituting the fries. I have dined at Flatiron about six times and think it is a great local place.
love the atmosphere but the food is just ok. Really not worth the $$$
Delicious dinner and nice atmosphere here. Absolutely good meat for this price. Really good food. I looking forward to come again ;-)
Service was great. Food was delicious. Would definitely come back
Excellent food - based on trying out the Catfish, Shrimp & Grits and Chocolate Mousse. Friendly service. But, the space is very open and can be extremely loud making conversation difficult.
Appearing somewhat quiet on a small North Carolina city main street, you walk in and immediately feel the energy of local people out enjoying drinks and dinner. This restaurant has really good comfort food, and an atmosphere of fun and relaxation that invites grazing through the evening hours and enjoying the people watching while you consume excellent food and drinks.
Always my go to on Saturday evening menu is extensive and changes intermittently for variable pallets..Definitely work a try to the distinctive foodie that wants to try fish, steak or whatever your heart desires.
I went to Flatiron for dinner yesterday. I will not be going back. The entrees are ridiculously expensive without justification. I ordered the $17 hamburger which was nothing exceptional. The hamburger buns at McDonald's are of a higher quality and the patty was dry and burnt. My family members ordered the sliders, which were a very small portion, of poor quality, and overpriced, and the salmon with risotto, which could be described in the same way. If you are looking for upscale dining in Davidson, go to any other restaurant on Main Street, where you will receive better quality food for a lower price. Don't waste your money at this place.
We arrived to Flatiron with the expectation of a nice upperscale restaurant with great food in Davidson. The restaurant overall was simplistic but nice. The service was decent not the best but also not the worst. The food on the other hand was anything but great, I ordered the Taphouse burger my girlfriend had the Prime New York Strip we asked for both to be medium both were under cooked my burger was medium rare at best and her steak was rare to the point it still looked raw in the center with some blood coming out. The outside of both the burger and steak were burnt even though the inside was under cooked neither had any flavor whatsoever. Both plates tasted bland like they threw the meat on the grill with no seasoning. We expressed our concerns to the waiter and she sent her steak back to get the burger instead, the manager never came to the table to address the issues. I would've never thought that we would have such a sub par experience in such a pricey place if the food was prepared right the price would be of no concern. In our opinion the restaurant is decent at best this was our first and last time, judging by all the other 1 star reviews on Google we are not alone in our opinion and we really wish we would have seen them before going and wasting our money.
Food is great servers are good. but it is expensive and they got rid of the pretzels. The flatiron burger is amazing. I would recommend getting extra onion bacon jam.
Great food and choice of beer. We went at lunch time and had the special salmon burger and the taphouse wagyu burger. Both were excellent and the sides were also plentiful. Highly recommend this place in Davidson down town.
The food was amazing, my steak was cooked to perfection and desert was also amazing. 5 stars on food and presentation. Service was a 3.5 star. We will be going back for the the food for sure!
Great salmon tacos. Everyone in our group of 5 enjoyed their lunch. Great ambiance. Fun waiter.
Food was diverse and excellent. Presentation was clean and appetizing. Braised beef short ribs...melt in your mouth! Great variety of beers. Great service! Thanks to Mark T. Our waiter!!
Not bad. Had lunch there no drinks. The Philly was good but nothing to write home about. I'll try it again in the evening.
Absolutely delicious! Gotta try there bread pudding desert.
Great place for cocktails. Sat outside and had a few drinks and a good time.
Really enjoyed the Cuban sandwich and loved the fries. So glad they they are not afraid to salt their fries.
We were here for the first time using a Groupon.
This is the first time I came to try a restaurant out using a Groupon where they changed me tax on the value of the Groupon, is that even legit?
Food was good, but small portions for the price. My wife had the scallops dinner, but her stomach did not feel good after we finished eating. She received 3 scallops.
Love this restaurant! Fantastic lunch prices and the food is so unique and delicious! Love taking out of town guests here as well!
Wonderful, great interesting food and friendly service.
We were really disappointed. The waitress seemed hurried and we had to continually ask for things like the specials, drinks, etc. The waitress told us 10 minutes after we ordered that the fish (flounder) was no longer available. She did offer a substitute, but I thought it strange telling us so late.
The restaurant was not crowded, so having a waitress not pay attention was bad. My wife's ice tea was never refilled when empty but she did ask if I wanted more beer.
I had ordered the ribeye, which had a big piece of gristle through the center. The piece was cut very thin as well. There was nothing on the menu regarding weight of the cut so I guess that was my error, but this is a steakhouse. The steak fries were excellent and the asparagus was really tasty. My wife's burger was good, but the slaw that was on the side was bland.
Beer choices were good.
I don't think we will be going back. There are way too many places that are much better.
Had dinner there with a family member. Tried escargot for my first time ever. It was delicious. I had the salmon and my brother had the coffee rubbed steak. Both were excellent. Dana did a great job with the timing of the food and the service overall was excellent. My brother has a particular way he orders his Manhattan and he said it was one of the best he ever had. Kudos to the bartender. Will certainly be back again. It is not a cheap night out but you are getting more value than the cost of the meal.
Amazing flavor in each dish ,however, portions could be slightly more filling. Service was extremely helpful especially giving better details on menu items. Was a great choice for my bday dinner last nite.
Food was great, fast service. We will definitely be back.
Haven't been here in years because the 1st and 2nd time were not good. 3rd time just as bad. Ordered the octopus and there were more potatoes than octopus drowning in thousand island dressing with sirancha. Good service but poor food selection. Had several wagu beef blend items( really, what is that?) Sad!
Love the truffle fries and everything I've had so far good!
Food and service is fantastic. Here for monthly wine sampling. Presentation was very professional and fun. Appreciate this team. Highly recommend this location.
It was very good and the customer service was spot on. We got a cold steak plate and they were quick to replace it. The wine pairing for every plate was interesting. It was funny that the menu had more wine options than food but with Chef being a sommelier I can see why. Overall a good experience for the family on Mother's day!
Good food and excellent service. Seating and layout of the restaurant is a little odd. Not overly noisy when crowded. Dishes at times are not prepared quite like you're expecting, e.g. unpeeled acorn squash cut into bite sized pieces?
Amazing food and drinks. Some of the best French fries I ve eaten. Only down side is how busy they were and how service was impacted. There was no shortage of staff - it was just extremely busy. I highly recommend this place and look forward to my next visit.
