Having been a member for several years without issues, as a first responder to have been in an terrible accident and be on FMLA and have Colonial accidental insurance being deposited, my account got low while awaiting my check. I did however have a loan In owed a whole $214!!! Lol so while at the store aware of only having $23.00 in my checking I needed some simple items till Friday. Eggs, Milk... They locked my card!!! I called and Erica repeatedly said she unlocked it and she didn't. Thanks for your honesty... I'm looking for another bank! Currently in a lawsuit and would never trust you with a large sum of money!!!

If I could give them a negative star I would. I have never seen such rude people in my life. The branch on Fortner St in Dothan,Al has the rudest people. You never treat your elderly with disrespect, because you are gonna be one and I'm sure your parents are elderly. So Mathew I pray that you will ask God to forgive you for the way you treated the elderly lady that came in your branch. Then when she called back the person on the phone was the worst. I see why a lot of people are leaving Five Star and going to other banks. So if anybody has to go to the Five Star on Fortner St in Dothan,Al please bypass this Branch better yet take all of your money out and go to Avadian or Wells Fargo.

Sometimes but not all these people can be fairly rude. Not even most of the time but just enough to bother you and make you not want to come back. Also several years ago they allowed someone I do not know to use my account to pay their bills.

I honestly can't understand all the bad reviews on here. I have been banking here for well over a decade and I love 5 Star. The people are very nice and I have never encountered any type of problem that wasn't handled professionally and quickly. Plus never a service charge like other banks. This is a great place to bank!

Changing to this bank for "convenience" was a Huge mistake. When i use the drive thru ATM at the closest one to my house, not only do I insert my card, but I also need to enter my entire SSN. What's the purpose if the card plus all the additional button pushing? I would understand if I was Just using my account number, which is an option. I buy groceries online from Walmart. I've been doing this since they added this feature, so it's not new to me or my account. The past couple of months, I am unable due to my card declining (even when there's is sufficient money in there). I get the text message for fraud alert and always reply yes this is my transaction. It then tells me my card will work and to try again. After tons of frustration, I finally called 5 Star and was told that their policy is to only approve $250 for Walmart. I specifically asked if there was any way for me to know this other than to call, she replied No. While the person I talked to was nice, polite, and helpful, it's the policy of 5 Star that's annoying. I grocery shop online once a month for my big staple items. Why can't the cap be lifted if this is a regular purchase? I'll be going to another bank for next pay period. This isn't my only complaint but I think I've written enough.

I am a new customer and my first contact with customer service in Dothan,Al was very discouraging. I forgot who I talked to, but she was very rude. I am probably going to keep the account, but I hope I never have to talk to a customer service agent ever again. I asked about paper checks via messaging, but have not had a response, so I don't know how to plan ahead.
