My favorite place to be on a weekend, or all throughout the week. We found this congregation after moving here to Madison and walking past it a couple of times. Felt at home from the very first week. Come for free tours of the historical building after services, or $10 during the week in the May-October.

We had my sister's wedding here recently. We were very pleased. It's a beautiful facility. The staff is polite and accommodating. The architecture is very beautiful. Th chapel is nice. They keep it nice and cool. What was awesome is that we could have our dogs there and they participated. Very good for weddings.

Google needs to separate reviews of the building as a Frank Lloyd Wright building and that of the First Unitarian Universalist Church.

I love being part of the UU tradition, but I found it Incredibly difficult to deal with architectural admirers wanting to troop through the church, especially the main sanctuary, just about anytime they want. The building has been incredibly expensive to maintain....and instead of the cost falling on the shoulders of curious Frank Lloyd Wright fans, it fell on the shoulders of people who attended the congregation.

As a result of the "church" being unable to make any definitive decision about who should bare the cost of a Frank Lloyd Wright building, I left. I was incredibly poor as a member, yet they expected my financial contribution to support the maintenance of a building.

I loved the UU services / education. But went elsewhere for my spiritual support.

An interesting upper building designed and partially constructed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the early 1950s. Tour can be arranged. Call ahead to be sure. Allow 1/2 hour - 1 hour for tour. Also be sure to get instructions as to where to park. This is a busy area parking is restricted.

I was brought to FUS by a friend from Shambhala and now I go there every week with my partner.
Soul awakening experiences with incredibly welcoming energy, mind cleansing music, and thought provocative spiritual reflection. Every time I walk out of there I feel a deep sense of peace, joy, contentment, and motivation to continue building my life and this world for the better.
For people who aspire for social justice, spiritual connection, and reflection of personal values that can't be fulfilled in any other religion, and are seeking for a community of people who are doing the same, this place is definitely worth checking out.
