A beautiful Renaissance palace in the center that hosts modern and contemporary art exhibitions.
The exhibitions that follow are always well set up and suitable for adults and children with the (optional) support of the audio guides, which offer a double path, one more mature and one more immature, but equally captivating and interesting.
Since 2014 I follow all the exhibitions that are set up and it is always a pleasure and from time to time a surprise to come back.
The exhibitions are always supported by small paper guides that are given when purchasing tickets. At the bookshop you can buy precious catalogs, always exhaustive, to relive the paths presented and to linger at home again in what are unique and unrepeatable experiences.
I highly recommend it.

I can't do less than a star, otherwise I'd do it. The new management is bad, waitresses and waiters who make differences between customers. It is clear from the way they talk to us and the speed with which they are served. Otherwise, you are left almost unknown, the girl came to take the order of two drinks after more than 20 'we were sitting, at the request of having pretzels, a little annoyed she replied that she could only bring us some fries, but up to here, ok, if there are fries, you can't say they sin about it, the embarrassing thing was when my partner asked if she could have something more and she was invited to come in to be able to choose whatever he wanted. Well, the coolest thing he had found was a savory croissant that didn't even serve them at the table. I conclude on the inability of the service by reporting an event as unpleasant to hear; while we were drinking our drinks, 4 German gentlemen sat down ordering 4 cappuccinos and the waiter without even imagining if they could understand Italian, he expressed himself with a nice: "what balls these Germans". Now, not that I have a point, but during service, it must be avoided. I recommend this place only if you are friends of those who work there, otherwise you will be treated very superficially and a bit of arrogance. Too bad, because the location is great.

Palazzo Strozzi in Florence is one of the most beautiful Italian Renaissance buildings. Of imposing size (15 buildings were destroyed to make room for it), it is located between the homonymous via Strozzi and piazza Strozzi, and via Tornabuoni, with three grandiose identical portals, on as many sides.
A true masterpiece of Florentine civil architecture of the Renaissance, it was started at the behest of Filippo Strozzi, a wealthy merchant belonging to one of the wealthiest families in Florence, traditionally hostile to the Medici faction.

Exciting exhibition on the work of Natalia Goncharova. It is unfortunate that there are no audio guides and no books in French. Did you forget that Elisa Bonaparte was Grand Duchess of Tuscany?

This is the first place I go when I come to Florence, as the art gallery here offers some of the best curated art exhibits I've ever been to, so if you are an art lover you can't miss it. There is no permanent collection on exhibit, only the temporary exhibitions which are completely diverse from one to the next.

Nice atmosphere to take a break. It has restaurant and cafeteria. I tried to visit the library but it only works between 9: 15h and 12h, couldn't fit the planning. I didn't do the museum tour either, I just walked through the lower gallery, which is beautiful.

Even without visiting the current exhibition - until 22.1.17 Ai Weiwei, Libero - (for 12 , over 65 & to 26 years 9.50 ) you can enter the courtyard in the palace.
The Foundation of the Palace wants to bring internationally renowned art and events to Florence to return the palace to the city and the region. This palace in the clear, beautiful forms of the early Renaissance shows modern temporary exhibitions.
With his metaphors and installations, Ai Weiwei points to grievances in our time and encourages reflection and introduction. Inflatable boats are pointing to the many drowned refugees on the outer walls.

I was pleasantly struck by the Tomas Saraceno exhibition after so many criticisms of the spheres hanging in the courtyard which, in my opinion, are groundless.
The exhibition is quite short (it can be visited in half an hour) but the itinerary is well structured and is suggestive.
Also recommended for those who are not passionate about art!

Palazzo Strozzi, which belonged to an important Florentine family, in the heart of Florence, overlooks a large and bright square and houses a museum with important works of art. But it also hosts thematic exhibitions such as the one on Stefano Mancuso's plants, Marina Abramovic, Leonardo's master Verrocchio. The elegant courtyard is very popular: many people frequent the bar and eat in the comfortable armchairs. Also in the courtyard there is the Bottega Strozzi which sells the exhibition catalogs and objects of quality artistic craftsmanship. It also has a library and organizes events, such as meetings with authors.

The exhibition on Verrocchio is worth a trip to Florence. Nothing to complain sull'allestimento but slips on the classic banana peel at the end. At the end of the exhibition, a corner has been set up for in-depth analysis with video projections and scholarly explanations ..... what a pity it is placed in a passageway between the toilets and the wardrobes ...... between noises of flushing, fans, hand dryers, school groups that come out .... do not feel almost nothing !!!! The beauty is that in the penultimate room is available reading area, you could not make it there ???? I in another place? How to get lost in a glass of water
