Finley's American Grill Review

Great local recommendation while I was visiting Battle Creek for the first time. Had the prime rib which was amazing.

My Grandson and I had dinner last Saturday at 4;30pm, the waitress was not attentive and our Prime Rib was cold and not much for the price

Waitress was great,but manager and kitchen were TERRIBLE,she was beyond rude and didn't even apologize for the kitchens mistake nor offer to compensate the meal,Will NEVER eat or recommend this place to anyone,doesn't even deserve the one star.

Lauren is an amazing server, she goes all out to help make her customers feel so special.

Salmon and steak were very dry. Taste was ok. Steak was cooked properly. Overall somewhat of a disappointment for the price paid.

The steak was cooked just right and flavorable and service person was awesome for our 14 person table.

Our 1st time there they were out of Prime Rib waitress said she had just been informed of it. My husband order the 3 meat dinner with Brisket Sauage and ribs after we had our appetizer they informed my husband they were out of Brisket that was about 30 minutes after placing our order. I would have thought they would have known they were out before bring the appetizer was brought out to use. The service was slow for the amount of customers there were there . The food we had was good the wait to long and disappointed in them being out of prime rib

Came in tonight and was a little busy but our server Avery WAS EXTREMELY ATTENTIVE. Never once did we go without anything and everything was perfect. Will come back only because of him. THANKS AVERY <3

The coleslaw was bland the chicken was dictating and tasted and looked like pork the only thing I really actually liked was the fries and those are the easiest thing to make and my friends beef looked like it had eaten in a fridge for atleest 2 days it have the discoloration and it didnt taste like it was just made u could tell it had been warned up if I'm gonna pay almost 14 dollars per dish it better be good I was very disappointed and if I knew it was gonna taste like that I would have went somewhere else for my m.j moms birthday and I also found multiple pieces of hair in my fries

Been going here for so many years I cant count.the best part of this place is there cooks are awesome at continuing to make the best tasting food without compromising for cheap yucky tasting alternates like many restaurants do. The amount of food on your plate from years ago was a little more then now. But the quality of the food is top notch. I wish that they would open another one near beckly road on my end of town.keep up.the great quality of food and please never close down.

Food good server either any experience are worthless... Disappearing and disappointing..

Awesome I ordered a Half a rack of Kansas City ribs with baked potato sour cream (took 1/2 of that home) and a house salad with ranch dressing, husband ordered pulled pork and a steak in baked potato and he enjoyed that and my step dad had the same thing as I did. All was Very Good& Yummy and the waitress was wonderful too! Try you like it

This BBQ ain't bad. Appetizer bread is a tasty sourdough but the margarine spread with it is a bit disappointing. I got the two meat combo- brisket and pulled pork. Brisket is tender and moist, if a little bland. The sauces they offer help with the flavor. Pulled pork is good. Tender, juicy, and I wasn't served a big hunk of fat. Again a little bland, but great with a bit of sauce. Stand veggies were steamed perfectly, but really needed a bit of seasoning. Mashed potatoes were delicious, and the gravy was rich and beefy. Cornbread was tasty, but really dry and crumbly. I didn't dislike anything I had.
Overall a good meal. I'd say this is a place I'll come back to if I'm in Battle Creek again.

Lauren was our server today for my birthday lunch. We had Finley's ribs and they're fall off the bone tender with great flavor! Excellent portions and super service! Thank you for making my day more special!

I rate the experience overall at 2 stars because the service was bad and the food was over priced and the food portions were not accurate. Also, my steak was well over done, and I had asked for medium well. In a nutshell, great environment, bad service, unorganized, unhelpful.

I would love to give 5 stars - however the last four visits were bad experiences. One was a waitress getting huffy and being disrespectful. Next was i had prime rib that tasted like playdough. Next dad had prime rib he couldnt even cut into - paid for a double cut and there was nearly no edible meat. Then the most recent the waitress never even came back to the table after a 45 minute wait.

Steaks were very good and our server was very attentive and overbearing.

First of all I love the bread at Finley s It s so soft and full of taste, just wonderful! And after you had the bread, there is really no mistake whatever you order. Last time I had Hawaiian chicken, it was great!

Seriously bummed out right now, I think my wife and I were one of the first customers of this restaurant and I just had my first bad experience ever. When we arrived we had my grand daughter with us and they seated us right outside the wait station where Luna had to sit in the aisle then we ordered and I got steak and shrimp, I ordered med.rare when it came it was welllll done but the waitress was nowhere to be found till about half way done so she took it back and when it came back it was ultra rare so I just said skip it then the "manager" came over and said he'd fix it. Waitress brought the check and said it was discounted $5 , are you kidding me an $18.00 dollar entree with half wrong twice and you take 5 bucks off! Time for some management re-education. I'll think long and hard about going back.

Everything was great about Finley's! We stopped for dinner and the place was packed. We only waited maybe 10 minutes for a table. The waitress was both nice and extremely efficient. The kitchen was very fast especially with how busy they were. I had the ribs, my husband had the prime rib and our daughter had a sandwich. EVERYTHING was delicious! We will definitely be back!

Nice variety on the menu and great service. The best corporate-restaurant experience I've had in a long-long time.

Not very clean. We didn't notice the big moldy hole in the ceiling til we were leaving. Food was ok, not great. Staff was nice.

We had absolutely great service but the food was just okay. Nothing wrong with it, it's just you can get the same things that taste better at other venues around town.

Very friendly & is a ray of Sunshine She's always positive & upbeat She knows her menu & always recommends a thirst quenching beverage before we order This hard working woman deserves a raise or a $ bonus or gift card for a massage or something that will show her how valuable she is to your company Thank you

Finley's is one of the few restaurants that honor birthdays. I love the food. Always an enjoyment.

Good food, good service. We had a large group of 11. Everyone enjoyed dinner.

Went here because it was the only place we could find around with steak that didnt have a ridiculously long line for waiting to get in. It was delicious. Awesome staff. Quick service and tasty beverages. Quite glad we found it and had a good experience since it was the first dinner of our honeymoon trip.

All I can say is the server was great but the chicken was not so great !

Good overall restaurant. Definitely the best complimentary bread in town. Hot and fresh. The quality isn't quite fine dining but just below. I recently had an 8 oz sirloin. The first half was medium, which is what I wanted but the second half was well done. That was a rare minor disappointment but not bad enough to turn me a way. I also like the booths, one of the most cozy places around. By the way, go there on your birthday, you'll get a free meal.

Our waitress was horrible, had to keep telling her what to get. The portions of food have gotten extremely smaller over the past year with higher prices.

Food was good, although I did ask for a blackened steak that wasn't, but a great place to go on a birthday.

Use to love the baby back ribs but not so much the last 2 times I've been there.

Would recommend encouraging service staff to write down customer orders. Received the wrong salad dressing, also ordered (2) Hawaiian chicken breast & was presented with one. Never received a drink refill. I visited for lunch around 1:30pm, restaurant wasn t busy. Positive note, the food was good!

The food was delicious and the views were nice. It took 10 minutes to get noticed by the waitress once seated and three times of asking for a drink before it finally made it to the table. Other than that, everything was wonderful. The manager was very nice and could be found roaming the restaurant talking to patrons, which I loved. I can't stand when management hides behind the scenes and doesn't check on the guests; here it was the opposite. We got 2 visits throughout our time here, both very pleasant. If we are ever in the area again, this is where we will be.

Delicious St Louis Ribs...Awesome waitress and good adult beverages. I'll be visiting again soon.

Cramped seating. Okay meals. Usually out of something whether drink or food.

They switched the way they cook stuff to smoked. Didn't really care for it.

Disgusting. The food was cold, the prime rib was cold, the mashed potatoes were cold, the best thing about my time there was the broccoli. Definitely do not recommend finleys to anyone, and am never going back. Less than a one star rating for service from me if you ask, but I can only give one so its what they will get.

Just called for my sons w2 after he quit there in June of last year because of the hours they worked him illegally as a minor. Was told they are going out tomorrow which should have gone out legally today. The manager was rude as all get out per usual. Don t ever work or eat here. The way they treat employees is illegally & inhumane. I asked for the supervisor above & was given the name & would be in tomorrow. I also informed I would be calling the better business bureau to which I was hung up on.

Friday March 8, 2019 time 6:00 p.m.
The prime rib dinner we had was AWESOME! My husband and I was to full to eat dessert, so we ordered cheesecake & chocolate cake, to go, we returned home, watched a movie, then we decided to eat our desserts....OMG it was HORRIBLE, it tasted old and just NASTY the stawberries on the cheesecake was fermenting, the chocolate cake tasted like uncovered refrigeration.. Come on Finley's you can do better, check your dates, before serving, cover food tightly..you know Fridays - Sunday is probably your busiest time...make your dessert fresh every morning or take them out of the freezer the night before, and let them unthaw in the refrigerator.

Normally its great but the last time i was there 4 out of 5 meals were wrong. Meat was undercooked and 1 meal was totally wrong and was offered a lie about it instead of even trying to fix it or make it right.

I ordered tenderloin kabobs medium rare. They came out very well done. When I finally got the waitress's attention she offered to have the kitchen make me another. I declined as everyone in my party had almost completed their meal. I was then offered dessert which I didn't want. Never was I offered my meal for free or even half off. I ended up paying full price for a less than appetizing meal.
