Finley's American Grill Review

Food was good for a reasonable price. The location could use some love... update the fixtures, cleanliness. Staff was courteous and attentive. You could do a lot worse...

The salmon is delicious! The side salad is huge! The wait staff was great!

They do not disclose that they charge (hold) an additional 18% on your credit/debit card when paying via this method. As they kept swiping my online alerts are showing me that they are swiping a totally different amount than what is on my receipt.

Had a party of 10 took them an hour and half to be seat it. Service was slow.

The food was great!
Portions & price very reasonable.
Will visit again.

I usually love Finley's so naturally I went there for a birthday steak. They messed up my steak which isn't a huge deal, but the service wasn't the best on that particular night either. I asked for a growler fill when I was leaving and when they came back they said they were out of the beer I wanted. No problem I will get a different one right? Nope they then told me when I asked for a different one "it looks like growlers aren't an option." "I think they don't want us giving people those." So I said wait I can order a beer at the table but you can't wash and fill my growler? Rather than ask his manager he just told me he didn't know and stared at me.... keep in mind they would have already given me a growler had they not been out of the beer I originally asked for. None of this is enough reason not to go back, but it was annoying and made no sense.

This has been my "go-to " restaurant I Battle Creek for 30 years. Went just last night for the first time in many months. Wow... things have certainly changed. The prices just keep going up and the portions of meat are smaller. The service was just adequate and it was definately not friendly. Service used to be as good as the food. I ordered the smoked duo thinking for a few extra bucks I'll have leftovers as I have in the past. I guess paying extra gives you only the privilege of ordering two meats..it was no way close to two servings as it used to be. I had turkey and brisket and it was probably about 4 oz of meat total. Very disappointed... $24 with tip and i added only an ice tea. I won't be back.

Bad experience tonight. First ,we were ignored. A young man named Avery got our drinks while we waited for our assigned waitress. (Thanks Avery )
