There's so much to see and read about the great Mayan civilization and its multi-cultural structure that prominently existed for about 27-30 centuries. And its spread across 40 odd city-states of Central America and Mexico, each ruled by its very own heirarchical feudal ruler. The Museum depicts in paintings, murals, artifacts, potteries and structures of that era.
Indeed, an attractive visual and informative display of the fine arts of Americas' past, well preserved for all to savor.

I visited fine arts museum with my daughters. First they said it is boring to go to museum but when we enter they love it and asked me to back another time to spend more times in the museum. My 12 years old daughter has free ticket and my 22 years old received student discount. The ticket price is 15 $ which is really reasonable for such nice museum.

It s a well-designed space on the inside (although the outside of the newish building looks like it s rusting away) with often interesting special exhibits. Make sure you get up to the top of the tower for a good view!

It is currently under substantial reconstruction. The collections on view are very limited and not supported by much information. It would have been helpful if there was more info on geographical context, especially in the case of the masks, and on the people who made/used them. The section with arts and crafts has some beautiful pieces, but again, lacked description, background and context.

Go see the Frida exhibit! What a treasure. And staff handled the necessary spacing for the pandemic politely and professionally. One had to dodge some if the patrons who forgot social distancing, however, and we had to exercise patience around those who had camped out in front of some installations. Keep it moving folks! Otherwise an exceptional experience. The museum could use better directional signage. What would life be like without museums? Grateful for the experience.
