Fantastic. It is always an experience when you're in Baden-Baden. The Festspielhaus has excellent acoustics. The entrance area in the converted former station is very elegant. There is also a restaurant. At the former ticket booth is the box office. Parking garage is available.

Largest festival house in Germany .. and then still privately financed !!! Only by donations and entrance fees. A great theater, Easter Pentecost and Winter Festival are always an experience with great new staging and international ballet companies. International orchestras and soloists. Great acoustics. Large parking garage directly on the premises. Very good service, also in the breaks and restaurants. Kurpark and Trinkhalle nearby. To the city center about 15-20 minutes on foot.Easy to visit ...

While the French pseudo-cultural horrors cost us a crazy dough, Baden Baden gets a festival palace funded now without any public endowment. The neo-Renaissance building is simply magnificent with a monumental hall to play operas and concerts. All in the old station of the spa on art nouveau background.

A beautiful building, which harmoniously integrates the former city station - old and modern in a successful synthesis. If one does not know this background as Ortsunkundiger and Erstbesucher, then one waits inadvertently actually in the station, if one stands suddenly before the "ticket office".
According to the large and generously designed place one expects high-quality Auffuehrungen. My expectations were even exceeded here in the case of the musical "Evita". An unforgettable evening, whose music and stage pictures still worked for days.

The program is excellent. As a permanent guest, I've never been disappointed since it opened. The musicians and dancers are world class. The crowd is enthusiastic and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is excellent. The house is spacious, bright and friendly, and the acoustics are excellent in almost every seat.
Due to the pandemic, cards can currently only be given to 500 guests.
On Thursday, October 8th, after 7 months, the restart finally took place under Corona security conditions, i.e. Wear a mask to the seat, short temperature check at the entrance, large safety distances and no break. You can get drinks before the event, the Aida restaurant was open at long intervals, you always felt completely safe.
The Hamburg Ballet under John Neumeier showed the ballet "Ghostlight", specially developed for the conditions of the pandemic, which reflected the current atmosphere. It was a great and fascinating ballet evening! The house is finally alive again!

Fantastic concert

Fantastic concert

But the environment is right too! Very friendly service staff, whether at the cloakroom or in the bar or in the hall. Top!
And the food in the AIDA restaurant was, as always, very good. A nice mood for a fantastic concert evening. I am looking forward to the next visit.
Oh yes, hardly need to point out that everything is barrier-free

It is a magical place, steeped in history and impressive by the symbolism, prestige and heritage since the time of the Romans who had already made Baden Baden an important city.
The Festspielhaus is therefore the casino of the city. There is, attached, a restaurant of great quality, very large and beautiful rooms with impressive high ceilings.
We will also find a paying underground parking but very well placed. This one gives direct access to the restaurant and the casino in being wet if it ever rains.
The place is really worth seeing

During its long existence, it was the favorite place of residence of politicians, artists or descendants of the missing dynasties. The Castle of the Festival (Festspielhaus) deserves a place of honor among the city's landmarks. This beautiful building has housed two important cultural institutions under its roof: a concert hall and an opera house and is the largest of its kind in Germany. Another well-known landmark is Stifkirche, a true gem of the late Gothic. The statue of Ludwig Wilhelm complements the beauty of the entrance to the temple. Among the archeological monuments the most significant is the New Castle, built in 1479. No less beautiful is the Evangelical Church in the center, on Augustplac

Splendid old building adapted for Concerts and Opera performances. It has some services and is functional, the sound is good and the billboard, in constant renovation, with very interesting works. The building is worth visiting, regarding the works represented as well, but you are a matter of taste. Highly recommended.
