I was in an accident on Woodward recently and the police, firetruck and ambulance showed up within 30 seconds of me calling 911. I really appreciated the patience and understanding they provided me with during a scary and emotional time. I support the men and women who put their lives on the line every single day to be there for the community. THANK YOU!!
Some of the Ferndale Police Officers are engaging in Racial Profiling when giving out traffic tickets. It is my intention to address the issue with the police chief of Ferndale in order to address this concern before we go to Federal Court and start protesting their polices. I am unsure if this is wide spread throughout the department, but I spoke with the officer and the city attorney as was able to ascertain that this particular Ferndale Officer was engaging is racial profiling while issuing traffic tickets. This officer was targeting Detroiters and Blacks. If I do not get resolve in this matter I will publish the officer and city attorney's names by Monday, August 14th. I hope the Police Chief is open to improving his police department given the widespread reform now taking place in Ferndale. He is more than welcome to reach out to me.
I have always had a very good experience with the officers in Ferndale. They are professional, empathetic and rational. I have had several moments that required some assistance and Ferndale's officers have always been courteous and focused on the issue in front of them. Hats off to officer Malmeister and officer Little, both of whom have gone out of their way to be courteous to me personally. Further, I have seen courtesy to neighbors of mine first-hand.
It was not an unpleasant experience at all. I am an African American, and although I noticed slightly more minorities there waiting for their case, the process seemed fair. I found the people who worked there were very nice. There was a police officer waiting in the hall who I said hi to, and he chatted for a second. He actually made me more comfortable. The judge was fair and good listener. The officer who ticketed me showed up and was formal/professional. It was not over crowded and things moved efficiently; I only waited 20 min!
Ferndale police department Is the best in the business
Not at the Fdale PD. I walk daily for my exercise in NO RAIN though, a few miles a every day.
If I see something wrong, I will call the police. Respond time is quick for these cops. I respect them.
My experience was horrendous I hope the police officer who tried to give me a reckless driving ticket vehicle flips over. I ve never met someone so deceitful, but I digress.
Greatest police department I have ever seen. They care about the city and the city has came a long way because of officers like these. God bless them and every police department in Michigan can learn a thing or two from this department.
Ferndale Police are engaging in racial profiling of people in Detroit and Afro-Americans. Giving out impeding traffic tickets ($150) on the Detroit side of 8 Mile Rd. I m sure I m not the only one that has experienced this. Something needs to be done.
Came twice for 2 drunk persons and handled the situation with great care and professionalism.
