Beautiful campus. But has COVID - Delta exposure. They have to exercise proper controls. I have not heard of any other facility with COVID exposure in Somerset County so far. Not to say it will not happen. It says a lot about being the first to get exposure. Stay away for now. Also, please watch the reviews. This facility is flagging all the bad reviews leading google to remove them.

I moved my mother from Chicago to Fellowship Villa...

I moved my mother from Chicago to Fellowship Village almost 16 years ago when she was 90. Yes! She is approaching her 106th birthday! She spent many fun, social, independent, healthy, secure years in Independent Living before moving to Assisted Living in 2016. She is currently in Memory Care. In each of these living situations, my mom has adored the staff. She, of course, is responding to how they have treated her. They are so loving and caring. To this day, her Care Partner makes sure she is dressed and adorned with jewelry, fixes her hair AND does her makeup! When my dear husband's dementia advanced to where I could no longer care for him at home, I chose Fellowship Village for him, too. As I live in NYC, the location isn't ideal for me. Still, I needed and wanted him to have the same quality care as my mother. His room is right next door to hers. He is a big man and it can be difficult to get him to cooperate moving from bed to shower to wheelchair, etc. His Care Partner has the patience of Job! She sees him as the sweet man he is. I have never seen her frustrated or cross with him. I need a whole other page to address how much our family loves the whole staff: The nurses, Neighborhood Coordinator, Enrichment Staff, Kitchen staff, Chaplain....We feel so blessed to have our loved ones in their care.

An Informed and Peaceful; Life

An Informed and Peaceful; Life

After being a resident of 14 years, participating on committees, activities and residents' council with friendship, social life and successes being the results, and working with a Team that gave service help with a smile.... The Pandemic Arrived!. This required being quarantined. Management CEO (Brian's) daily letters of varied information were greatly appreciated along with dining management delivering meals in addition to other needs. The health & wellness called to check on specific residents and Program team set up daily and weekly presentations for the Village TV. Thank you, thank you! I am extremely grateful to be a resident of Fellowship Village!

Fellowship Village is where my mother went to live...

Fellowship Village is where my mother went to live when her own home became too large for her to handle. She made a lot of new friends and enjoyed the numerous activities. When she suffered from early signs of Alzheimer s, I was alerted and the staff took over and helped to arrange for a live-in. They found the perfect fit and to this day we still consider her care-giver a part of our family. After almost four years of living with an aide it became time for her to move to Memory Care. I was nervous at first as to the big changes she would be dealing with and worried about her reaction. Well, my worries were wasted, she was greeted with open arms and with love and care. Alisa and her team have made her so comfortable. From helping her adjust to her spacious room, to engaging her in activities. They embraced her love of chocolate, her sense of humor and know her likes and dislikes. When I visit she often will ask me if I d mind leaving so she can be with her friends. To see her enjoying her life and being well cared for makes my life so much easier and hers so much richer. I can t thank the staff (more like family really) enough. I wouldn t hesitate moving a loved one to Fellowship.

On behalf of my father, Robert: Moving my Dad to Fellowship Village was one of the best decisions of my life. The environment at Fellowship is upbeat, positive and energized. My Dad thrived at Fellowship, making more friends than I could possibly keep track of, both with neighbors and associates of Fellowship. The facility is wonderful; the employees are caring and generous with their time and attention to each of the residents.

I believe that Fellowship is a truly unique environment what I have and will continue to refer friends, relatives and neighbors to consider as they make their own choices.

I love living here! I never anticipated the wonderful friendships that have developed since I arrived. I have a beautiful home, I enjoy eating in the Bistro never knowing which friends I will run into or what the topic of the evening will be. The are plenty of activities, we have a wonderful new professional theater, so we don t have to leave campus to see professional performers. We are excited about the brand new indoor-outdoor lounge which will be open next month.

Having had friends say how pleased they were to be at Fellowship Village and having visited them on the beautiful campus on several occasions, my wife and I never considered another venue when it came time to make a move. We are so happy to be in such an ideal community with caring staff, great activities, friendly people, and great food.

From our very first visit to Fellowship Village, a luncheon, we were impressed with the caring atmosphere and the candidness of the staff and current residents as they answered our questions.
We called soon afterward to make an appointment to see some of the available residences. The minute we walked into our, soon to be, home we felt comfortable. We decided to move forward when we returned from an extended stay in Florida. Well, as we all know, the pandemic raised its ugly head and brought everything to a halt.
After we returned from Florida and while essentially quarantined in our NJ home, we read that Fellowship handled the Covid 19 crisis very well. They were proactive and reacted very quickly to the challenges presented by the epidemic. So we emailed Jen Ward, our contact at Fellowship, and told her that we wanted to move in by mid -September. We were concerned that there will be a second wave of Covid and we didn t want to be delayed any longer in our move.
That started the ball rolling again and here s what happened: Luckily, we found a buyer the day after our house listed. However, that buyer wanted an earlier closing date. Fellowship jumped right on it and managed to get our home ready for us 2 weeks before our original requested move in date. Everyone we worked with was most responsive and it was a positive experience from the beginning to our move-in date.
We ve been here for about a month and continue to be impressed by the caring and responsive staff, friendliness of other residents and the whole facility in general. As active people, we have been exploring the grounds and surrounding recreational opportunities. We love it here and consider it one of the best decisions we have ever made.

The Cobriniks are the first Fellowship family t...

The Cobriniks are the first Fellowship family to join Fellowship as two generations with individual apartments-- a 93 year old father, an 87 year old mother and a 62 year old daughter. And so we have a wide perspective regarding what we need and wished for at the village. We have been here for 8 months. The three of us are extremely pleased and happy with our living quarters: both apartments have a full kitchen and living room, one bedroom for the daughter, and a one bedroom plus den for the parents. Both apartments have balcony. Meals, activities, potential medical services met or excelled our expectation.
However, what we found most gratifying are the PEOPLE; the residents, administration and team members have been open, warm , friendly and helpful.
The residents come from different religious, ethnic and political backgrounds. Our discussions are generally knowledgeable and mutually respected. We have made friendships with folks from all groups. Many activities and committees are led by residents, with advice and support of multiple administrators.
Team members care for us with delicious meals, moving, and all that makes a comfortable living environment. Their responses to our requests has been really great!
All of this is enhanced by a 72 acre magnificent natural environment which invites us along many paths where we meet up with others in all seasons. When you have such really good people working with you at all levels and a beautiful environment, everything falls into place.

Living on two acres with my Mother (87) and with m...

Living on two acres with my Mother (87) and with my Dad (93) with a steep driveway which in the winter my Dad could not walk up and down any more, and with most of my friends becoming grandparents and moving closer to their grandchildren, and also being a Single Aunt with two younger brothers, I thought that it was a good time for myself and my parents to make a move that would be practical for the future. After looking at a few other Life Plan Communities we decided on Fellowship Village.

Besides it s beautiful 72 acres, Fellowship Village is everything one can ask for to a 62 3/4- year old resident who has been here for 8 months. Everyone is so friendly: Administration, the Staff, and our fellow residents who are our neighbors.

Both, the Administration and the Staff are so receptive to not only my needs but to all the residents needs. There are so many activities. I love my Water Aerobics Class in which we have 7 days a week. I also enjoy the Photography Club where, as a team we think of themed exhibits. Because I and others are eagerly awaiting the extended walking path across the wetlands that will have a Bird Blind so that we can observe the wide variety of birds that fly above the grounds, one day my Mom and I spoke to the Director of Hospitality about the possibility for a lecture on Birding. The next week on the calendar it was announced that in the new theater there would be a Great Course s Birding lecture every week for a few weeks. We now have about 12-15 residents who all look forward to that lecture each week.

On Sundays in the theater there has been an ongoing game of playing Corn Hole. My Dad (93) and I had never heard of or seen this game before January. It is one of the highlights of our week. Thus far my Dad is the Champion, with Herman (85) running at a close 2nd. And the cheering women, other women who watch us aim the bean bag are very important as they encourage us to keep it up.

There are other lecturers that cover such topics as Electric Cars, Presidents, Italy, the list goes on and on... Musicians give us solo concerts. So far we ve enjoyed a fine pianist, a cellist. & a bagpiper. I could go on and one writing about the activities that are here at Fellowship.

Being at a Life Plan Community with three levels of care: Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing makes me feel secure, in that when my brothers and I get old, I won t have to be that old aunt, who will have to ask my nephew or one of my nieces for help since they will be taking care of my brothers. At the present I m so blessed to be here at Fellowship so that I can still help my parents and be only a hallway away from them. The food is also delicious and the new Wilson Tapas Bar and Patio is good for fine dining."

The most creative example of showing how wonderful Fellowship Senior Living is, was when the Pandemic first arrived, the Staff immediately created an in-house Broadcast TV station so when residents were placed in quarantine they could then continue with their exercise classes, continue with their art lessons, sing songs with Bob as he sits in the studio and strums on his guitar, and adding DVD performances, and Great Courses, lectures. In addition committees met via zoom.

When another resident tells us, Oh, too bad you had to move in during COVID-19, my Mom and I reply, No, we feel it worked for us, we feel that moving in during the pandemic, the friendly greetings have grown into longer discussions and give us a chance to meet our new neighbors in a deeper way always socially distanced, I.e., six feet apart and always wearing masks. And then waiting on the long lines for our two doses of the vaccine gave us another way to bond with our neighbors.

Yes, we feel very protected and loved by the other Residents, the Workers, the Staff, and the Administration. And yes, at Fellowship Senior Living we are all family. We re very happy here at Fellowship Village, in Basking Ridge, NJ.
