I attend a local college in Utica and a friend of mine with CHS was extremely sick this morning and had to get to the closest Hospital as soon as possible. I rushed her to Faxton because it seemed competent enough from the outside, but god in heaven was I wrong. She d been throwing up during the 8 minute car ride there, and by the time we got there she was white as a ghost and could barely talk. Did the receptionist, or security care? Nope. They continued to ask her for her information in a monotone voice while she could barely keep her head up in the wheelchair and eventually asked us to wheel her into a corner to wait for a triage nurse to see her in an hour. My friend kept saying, Please, please help me. I need [this medication]. Please hurry. Initially I thought that their calm was from years of experience, not from absolute indifference. It wasn t until my friend actually blacked out, slid out of the wheelchair, threw up, and another patient screamed did anyone get her any help and even then it took another two hours before the medicine she needed was given. Literally what the hell is going on in this Hospital...
