A friend of the family recomended Family Vehicle Repair when the AC went out on our 2010 Ford F150. We had taken it to the Ford dealer to have it looked at and they charged me $85 to tell me we had a bad condenser. On top of that they gave me an estimate of just over $900 to fix. I took my friends advice and went to Travis. He saved me lots of money and did a fine job repairing the condenser as well as finding another electrical problem with the AC and repairing that. Who knows what Ford would have charged me for the electrical problem. Thanks Travis!

I just moved to Fort Worth a couple of months ago and was looking to reestablish a good auto repair place for my car needs. I always went to the brand name centers back where I used to live and would receive good but expensive, non-personalized care. However, I read such great reviews about Family Vehicle Repair online, so I decided to give it a shot. I would have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Travis (the main owner) is a very friendly, down-right honest person, who genuinely takes a personal interest into best taking care of any of your auto needs. The amount of time I spent there was very well utilized. I not only felt like I received honest, price-worthy care for my car, but I also learned a lot about how to manage my car well on my own. I definitely support Travis and his family in his future endeavors and will continue to bring my car here in the future.

This guy is amazing. I am from Houston and I had an accident in New Orleans, Louisiana, and I did not know if the car was fit for driving. I called Family Vehicle Repair and the next day he got on a plane to New Orleans airport, got in a rental car and drove up to the place I had the accident and secured that the car was safe enough to drive so I could drive it up to his shop in Hurst, Texas for repair. Reliable and honest. I rather drive from Houston to Hurst knowing that the job gets done the way it is suppose to.

We had taken our car to the dealership and they told us the engine was blown.
We had to decide whether to buy another car or replace the engine in our 2006 Sonata. Travis/Family Vehicle Repair was recommended to us and we had the car towed to his shop. He checked out our car and found there was nothing seriously wrong with the engine. He took care of some routine maintenance for us and the car runs fine. His honesty and integrity has deeply impressed and blessed us. We will be happy to recommend him to our family and friends.

We have used Family Vehicle Repair for preventive maintenance, repairs and body work on our "fleet" of cars. We have always been very satisfied with the quality of the workmanship, the reasonable pricing and how quickly the work was completed and cars are back on the road without compromising anything. Our intent is to continue to use Family Vehicle Repair whenever possible because like they say, a good mechanic is hard to find and when you do, don't let go.

Since I first moved to the mid-cities area 5 years ago, I've been searching for a good mechanic. As most of us know, they're rare to find. I've finally found a professional mechanic with integrity who knows their stuff. Recently, I was on the way out of town when my Chevy pickup started overheating. Travis carefully diagnosed the problem when other shops could not...he did it quickly and he kept me up to date on the progress, asking my approval before proceeding with any repairs. He had me back on the road in no time, and at a very reasonable price. He explained what the issues were and what steps were taken to correct them. The truck has run at proper temperature ever since the repairs. Travis is a class act who does good work. He's now my go-to mechanic in DFW. I wouldn't trust my vehicles to anyone else, and I recommend him to everyone I know.

Travis at FVR is a very trustworthy guy. He fixed up my Nissan Xterra that needed a new power steering hose. He does quality work and he did it cheaper than any one else was quoting me. Any issue I have with my cars, I will take to him from now on. A straight shooter that won't try to get you to have unnecessary repairs done. Thanks big time!

Honest technitian. The service at Family Vehicle Repair was awesome! The owner/tech will quote you for repair before commencing work and will do a better than dealership repair. I here Mr. Harkins was a Lexus vertified repair technitian. You can can count on the work being thorough and complete. He's my repair technitian for life, all makes and models.

This place rocks!

Needed my Lexus IS windows tinted. I found them online and got the best quote. The technician was very professional, clean, and did an Excellent job on my car (great guy). I will definitely be going back for more service as long as my car requires it.

I brought my Dodge Neon to another mechanic to try and figure out what was wrong, I was told it was a broken valve in my engine that would cost me a lot of money to fix. Then I brought my car to Travis at FVR and he did several different tests the other mechanic didn't bother to do on the engine and found out it would need a whole new cylinder.
I ended up just getting a new car and I won't take my car anywhere else but to FVR. His hard work and honesty is what I value when something goes wrong with my cars.

Travis works on all my cars now. I was referred to him by a friend and have always been more than satisfied with the quality of his work. He lets you know what is wrong and doesn't recommend things you don't need done. He does his best to get you in and out as quickly as possible!

FMV Inc has always provided prompt service and excellent attention to detail for our personal and company vehicles. We are always skeptical of mechanics but FMV has earned our trust and we can always be sure the repairs performed will be done correctly. We have found this company to operate with very high character and integrity. A added perk of dealing with this company is they are a great resource for other experts in the automotive field. From their advice I have used two people they are connected with to have my car windows tinted and a full detailing on our Escalade. Both experiences were top notch. I cannot say enough about Family Vehicle Repair and its owner Travis Harkins. Our air conditioning in our car went out in the heat of the summer and my husband was out of town....he gave Travis a call and told him of the situation and Travis came over and fixed it in my driveway and charged a extremely reasonable price to do so! He is a honest man in a industry that is known for being dishonest. I am so sad to have found this jewel and than get moved to another state. You won't be sorry you did business with this company.

Family Vehicle Repair is an awesome find. I came to know Travis through another fireman that used him before. I am so glad that I found him. Not only is it hard to find a good mechanic, but its even harder to find someone that can be personal and you can establish a rapport with. Travis is one of the good ones. He is honest and up front. He does not do the standard game that most shops play, where they fix what you ask them to, but find about 5-6 other things wrong. If he finds something else that is necessary he will tell you, but he is honest about it.
Another thing that sets him apart is the quality and care he takes with all his customers. He treats everyone on an individual basis. One time he even came to my home to pick up my car that needed some work done because I couldn't leave my kiddo. Tell me what other shop would do that for their customers. He takes the time to treat everyone on a case by case basis. He could have easily told me that I could bring my vehicle in to the shop and not think twice. But that was not the case. I would HIGHLY recommend Family Vehicle Repair to anyone who is looking and have done so many times.

I was referred here by another customer. This guy is easy to talk to and will work with you in a way that makes you feel comfortable leaving your vehicle. I've been to Pep Boys and those other places and it always seems like you are leaving your vehicle with the two evil guys from the Home Alone series. You wont have that sense of uneasiness here at FVR. Truly, this is a family oriented company and you wont regret having this guy as your primary mechanic for ALL of your vehicle needs.

I went there because my rear main seal was out on my truck and it was fixed the same day, so I had a problem with my other vehicle and did not hesitate to give Travis a call back since my first experience with Family Vehicle Repair went so well. I have recommended FVR to family and friends and if I have any future problems with my vehicles, FVR is where I'm going. They are trust worthy and very affordable down to earth people. Last summer my ford ranger began blowing warm air from the a/c vents. I expected it to be something expensive because the vehicle is 10 years old, but I still wanted my cold air! So I called Travis and he said he would be in my area the next morning and would stop by and look at it. Travis really went above and beyond to fix my truck. Its hard to find honesty in a mechanic these days. Travis is just that! I will bring it back to him if I ever again need a mechanic. Highly recommend.

I called Family Vehicle Repair at the recommendation of a friend. My vehicle wouldn't start at all and Travis came to my home the same day. The problem ended up being a minor issue that he fixed promptly and charged a fair rate for. I would definitely use Family Vehicle Repair again and would gladly recommend them to a friend.

I've had problems with my truck for a year and finally brought it to Family Vehicle repair, haven't had any trouble since. Very satisfied with Travis and his cronies, it's the shitznitz.

I got my windows tinted there, and it was the best job I have seen. It was also the best price for the quality.

These days it's very hard to find an honest, reasonably priced and skilled mechanic. Travis at Family Vehicle Repair is a true gem. We have an old used car that we bought for our son for college and the engine blew in April. Travis changed it out in no time and got the car back up and purring like a kitten. We have had a few small issues with it since (normal wear and tear for 200k miles), not related to the engine (which he replaced with a low mileage engine to make sure that the car had a long life ahead of it), and it has gone back to Travis for every single repair. We won't use anyone else but Travis now and highly recommend him to anyone. Travis goes out of his way to make sure that the car is fixed correctly and totally stands behind the work that he does!
