This place is a diamond in the rough! One day I was searching for a counselor for my son and ended up seeing that they offered a free and catered marriage workshop called the 7 principles of marriage. With licensed professional counselor who was absolutely amazing. The course was one day a week for 8 weeks and you were given free books and a catered meal each time. It was the first thing since I have been married that really made sense! They offer all types of group counseling, adoption help, individual, couple and children's counseling. They take insurance but if you don't have any that is okay because they work on a sliding scale fee basis to still offer solid and experienced counseling services. I highly recommend their services to anyone!
I doubt that this truly is a non-profit. I wish I knew of anywhere else in Amarillo where supervised visitation would allow me to hug, kiss, eat food with, cut fingernails for hygiene, and charge less than $200/weekly to see my twin six year old daughters for on average of one-hour and fourteen minutes and that's all, each week. And, it would be great if the supervisors actually supervised rather than reading their books and doing side work while supervising; and even better, if they would report the parent (my EX) that sends my daughters to supervision with ill-fitting stained clothes, socks, shoes, and lacking in hygiene, because while working full-time and commuting 4 hours to his work in New Mexico, he does not have the time to raise my daughters. No, that would be work like not included in their job description as is asking for a doctor's note when the irresponsible parent that forgets visitation appointments decides to say he went to the doctor and one of your daughters has strep when he did not. FSS in Amarillo is setup to help the full custody parent and monitor supervised parents as criminals.
I do not need any supervision at all and have never put my daughters in any danger, my EX has showed nothing to the court to show otherwise in two hearings that have costed me about $70K; because, Judge Anderson in Randall County Court No. 1 is discriminatory and extremely prejudicial toward US citizens with a mental health history. Judge Anderson passes 99% of mental health warrants and fully ignores doctors letters, full psychological and multiple parenting evaluations or anything that may suggest the retired mother that raised her children primarily alone in Randall County while EX lived & worked in another state is okay to be considered a regular mother with zero criminal history, whatsoever.
Since Amy Hord and Barbara are extremely sensitive to criticism of their supervision program, specifically that I am charged far too much for the level of service that they provide by a non-licensed person that can not talk at all at court, because of poor FSS policy. And, too, there is a lack of service when scheduling whereby the retired parent gets a canned text on a makeup day as one-day prior notice,. When text is sent five hours prior to your regular appointment, it seems to be for that appointment and yes, FSS will try to charge you when they do not clearly communicate and coordinate a makeup appointment outside your regular days and times. and the full-custodial parent gets the courtesy of making sure their schedule allows an appointment on the first day ever that a makeup appointment for my EX's forgetfulness is made.
I would pay to go anywhere else if I knew of anywhere else in Amarillo to petition the court to send me. Since I have income and I am not a criminal, I do not qualify for other places. It is in my daughters best interests to be allowed to play in my very nice large Belmar home versus the small FSS 13'X15' room, where with two six year old young girls, we are not allowed to make much mess (if you do, that'll definitely come out of your hour and fourteen minutes of weekly time; that's effectively what two supervision appointments turn out to be during COVID). FSS supervision is a very unnatural environment for my daughters to spend time, to have any real quality relationship with their parent. Yes, I'll be at the Harley Party that supports them anyway, but it's for the bikes, not because I think FSS is a good place to be ordered by the government to see your daughters due to unjust court prejudice.
I will NOT be voting for Judge Anderson in Randall County ever and I sympathize with all the parents that have to see their children under lock-up type supervision that are not criminals, because their EX's untrue hearsay without any evidence, Judge Anderson takes as gospel.
