Family Health Options Kenya (FHOK) is a non-profit organization that has been providing sexual and reproductive healthcare services to people in Kenya and other parts of the world for over 30 years. The organization was founded in 1985 with the aim of promoting sexual health, family planning, and reproductive rights among individuals and communities.
FHOK has been at the forefront of advocating for sexual rights, including access to safe abortion services, comprehensive sexuality education, and HIV prevention. The organization believes that everyone has the right to make informed decisions about their sexual health without fear of discrimination or stigma.
One of FHOK's core values is quality service delivery. The organization operates over 20 clinics across Kenya that offer a wide range of services such as family planning, cervical cancer screening, STI testing and treatment, maternal health care services including antenatal care (ANC), postnatal care (PNC), skilled delivery services among others. FHOK's impact can be seen through its numerous achievements over the years such as increasing contraceptive prevalence rate from 39% in 1993 when it started offering family planning service up-to-date where it stands at around 58%. In addition; reducing maternal mortality rates from an estimated figure of around 700 per every live births down by half since inception through provision of skilled delivery service which includes emergency obstetric care(EmOC) .
