Fairmont Zimbali Lodge and Resort Review

Wow absolutely beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are excellent, home away from home. I absolutely loved it!

Vast luxurious estate right next to the sea. The rooms in the lodge are just vast. 25 mins from King Shaka Airport

I didn't like this place at all. So many restrictions and rules. They should let their guests know when they book which places are they not allowed in to minimize discomfort.

We had a really great time and rest. Great food, awesome cocktails and friendly staff!

Beautiful! Gorgeous location for a holiday, a day trip, dinner... Whatever! It's that amazing. The pool and all the details in the decor make it a perfect photo location as well. Staff are amazing. It's incredible.

Most beautiful location! Wildlife roams freely. Get an early morning start and see buck, mongoose and monkeys. Rooms are nestled into the lush coastal forest and tree line provides beautiful views and privacy at the same time. This is one of our favorite retreats and come here annually.

The place is beautiful,quiet ,it's a place to distress after tiring work!!The staff is friendly and provide that courtesy keep it up

Place was good to relax.
Cleaning Staff were friendly.
Admin staff were morbid though.
Also very delayed from arrival till check in for reasons unknown.
Place looks stunning but the lodge is far from the facilities and one cannot self drive to the pools area. A shuttle has to be taken and it's a charged service which I find unfair.
Alternative is to walk for 30 mins through the golf course and bushes encouring various wild animals which was quite fun too but not for the faint hearted.
Overall not a bad place to relax.

Mediocre hotel with below average service and expensive rates, should have rather booked at Beverley Hills Sun

Absolutely fantastic getaway destination for families or couples. the Lodge is great for couples. Private, chic, exclusive and very roomy. Th resort has evrything and for Families may be a better option. Distance between the two places are a few minutes and within a secure estate.

Beautiful estate with great service. 5 star golf course

This is a wonderful place to visit, we spent 2 nights over there but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were invited to stay here by our children. They normally stay here every year, since they belong to a holiday club.
Nice sea view and the place is well maintained. The staff is very friendly and responsive.

The most beautiful resort in Durban. Everything is faultless, the decor, rooms, view, food and desert. You get spoilt for choice. I would highly recommend this place for both leisure and business.

The lodge is part of the zimbali estate development which includes (just mentioning a few) residential, hotel, golf course, preserved nature surroundings and ocean shores

The lodge is not in close proximity to most amenities and other interesting part of the village. You have to rely on a shuttle service to get around.

The rooms are spacious, clean, well maintained and luxurious. The bed is huge and comfortable.
The service from shuttle staff is excellent. Admin staff not that good. On arrival I was allocated a room only to get inside the room to find a couple in bed. The shuttle staff who experienced this event with me apologised but not admin who just gave a different room. Other than that, everything was perfect.

The breakfast which is is the main hotel is excellent and views there are brilliant

The entire ambiance is excellent and our two day visit was enjoyable. I will return soon.

Clean and neat but overly priced. Not much to do in the evening especially when travelling with children

The place is amazingly beautiful but for a 5 start I think it has to improve on service. Create a more welcoming staff team at reception and the call centre needs a bit of assistance with customer service as they pass you from pillar to post. The housekeeping ladies are really kind though. And the swimming pools are lovely at the lodge, hotel and valley of pools. (they are very well maintained)

The valley of pools restaurants had terrible service. We waited for over 30 minutes after being seated for someone to take our orders, then after ordering we waited another 40 minutes. It was literally over an hour waiting for drinks never mind the food. Their staff seemed new and unsure of what they were doing. No trays were used to serve us so they had to keep going back to fetch the food one by one.

Beautiful setting and rooms. Disappointed with inconsistent service. Most restaurants were closed due to a function but we were told they were available only to be turned away on arrival. Discounts promised at booking were haggled over and still not met in entirety. And a discount promised was for an unavailable restaurant.

The room smell was extremely bad,they need to do something about that smell,it was terrible

The tranquility and surroundings, and entertainment is on a different level...... Just love it

Surprising value for money. Room is very comfortable. Bathroom is very clean and modern. TV has good channels. Walking distance to the golf course. R1,400/night I recommend the Fairmont Lodge.
