We had afternoon tea and the service was magnificent. The tea selection and finger sandwiches were customized to our groups dietary requirements and the scones and cakes and pastries were excellent. The library setting made it special and cozy and it was very memorable.

This place is the best of the best! The grounds are amazingly beautiful, the staff is courteous and very knowledgeable, and the food is yummy. Highlights for us were the pristine swimming pools, the classy rooms with
wonderful beds, and the spa. Do not miss this place~

This is our 5th stay at the Grand Del Mar and that is because we love it here so so much. We come to San Diego now just to share a little slice of "heaven" right here at the Grand.

The resort exudes opulence and magnificence on every level--the grounds are a real feast for the eyes; the rooms are impeccably furnished and clean; and the adult spa pool is absolute serenity.

The service at this resort is unparalleled to any other properties we have been. Every staff member at the Grand is able to make us feel valued and special. When we stay at the Grand Del Mar, we always feel that we have returned "home to our family"

This resort trumps the Peninsulas, the Ritz Carltons, the Four Seasons, the St. Regis and all others. The Grand Del Mar truly shines on every level.

Nothing can describe the place other than pure luxury and service. Staff were hyper attentive, pleasant and thoughtful. The rooms in itself were gorgeous with impeccable room service and thoughtful add ins.
Wonderful restuarant with an even amazing bar! Food was alright, drinks were spot on. No hassle throughout the stay and it felt very welcoming

I've stayed here countless times and had business ...

I've stayed here countless times and had business meetings here. I refer all my north county visitors and clients here. The food is great, the atmosphere is peaceful. One of the best hotel secrets in San Diego. This is what a 5 star hotel is supposed to be. Every detail is taken care of. This hotel is set back. Private. The word you think of is truly grand and quiet. There are beautiful lounges and live lounge music, a club M, lovely pools. My friend walks there every day to work. Nice business center and you do not have to be a guest to use their services. As you drive up the long driveway entrance, the spacious grounds instantly relax you. The rooms are gorgeous. Nice golf course too. Perfection. Now for anyone who stays here, you will need a car to get around but Carmel Valley is central to everything in San Diego. You are ten minutes from Del Mar cliffs for sunset and Del Mar Beach, 15 to the race track, 15 minutes to La Jolla cove, 10 minutes form Torrey Pines and to other great golf courses, 20 mins to the airport. If you want to go to downtown one night, fine, but downtown is not my scene. Balboa Park 15-20 mins. Carlsbad is 20 mins north. So it is the best of all worlds.

By far one of the nicest 5 star resorts in the world. If you have the opportunity to stay here do so. Staff are well trained and are looking for chances to help and serve you. We showed up to the restaurant just before close for a quick cocktail and were told to feel free to order food and stay as long as we liked. Unmatched service across the resort. Includes a Michelin rated restaurant and a world class golf course. If you are looking for privacy and luxury this is the place to be.

Spent a few days over NYE at this magnificent hotel, it was outstanding. Service is off the scale courteous, friendly and efficient. As it was raining, we had car service door to door from hotel to our NYE dinner at Addisons. Dinner was truly spectacular, the superb seven (probably nine!) course tasting menu was beautiful to look at as well as eat! The wine cellar also superb. We also took in the spa which again did not disappoint in any way, excellent professional therapists. All in all, as serious world travellers, we found this hotel a truly five star resort.

The hotel rooms and grounds are immaculate and beautiful. However, the Amaya restaurant has changed its menu and atmosphere since it was bought by the Fairmont chain. The menu selection is more limited and the dinnerware is plain and quite frankly ugly. The water glasses look more like plastic tumblers that don't match the beautiful decor and ambiance of the surroundings. I love this location, but I wish it would return to it's original magic of before.

I visited family members, who were guests at the hotel. Beautiful hotel, perfectly maintained grounds, quiet facilities, tons of amenities (spa, pools, gym, bars, restaurants, hiking trails, etc), and attentive staff.

Upscale elegant but comfortable escape in North County (San Diego). Impeccable service. Lots of place to dine, relax, enjoy beverages inside and out.

Beautifully landscaped grounds.

Interesting and mostly healthful luncheon menu. Large wine selection. Prices are what you d imagine for a place of this caliber but worth pampering oneself.

One of the best resorts I have experienced for a long time! Gorgeous rooms, beautiful grounds and fantastic service! I spent an afternoon at their lovely spa and adults-only relaxation pool. We had the Spring tasting menu at Le Salon at Addison- it was divine! A big shout out to Mindy in the concierge team- she went above and beyond to enhance our experience! I can't wait to come back and stay for longer.

This hotel is the most amazing hotel in Del Mar. The staff is incredible, the views are amazing, it is without a doubt a wonderful place to stay. The staff are all amazing. They go above and beyond to help you and the servers are amazing. Especially Valdemar at Amaya.
The housekeepers are the best. Every time they clean it looks amazing.
The tennis courts are the best if you play. You just have to call and reserve a time with the concierge.
The whole place closes at 9pm. Even the adult pool, which was surprising, but I think if you're quiet you can stay a little longer.
If you ever get the chance, definitely stay here.

This is a beautiful hotel situated east of the town of del Mar. During our stay we needed tickets to the San Diego Zoo and the concierge desk was more than happy to oblige and was able to get our tickets right from the hotel. There is also live entertainment at the clubhouse on Fridays and saturdays. There is also a beautiful golf course on the grounds. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking in the San Diego area.

With both impeccable luxury service and accommodations The Grand Del Mar is my favorite place to stay in the world. As if that isn't enough, the beds are so comfortable I asked about the make and model so I could purchase one of my own.
