Fairfax Lutheran Parish: A Community of Faith and Service
Fairfax Lutheran Parish is a community of faith that comprises Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax and Central Lutheran Church in Rural Franklin, Minnesota. Both churches are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), which is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States.
At Fairfax Lutheran Parish, we believe that faith is not just a personal matter but also a communal one. We strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can come together to worship, learn, serve, and grow in their relationship with God.
Our Savior's Lutheran Church
Our Savior's Lutheran Church was founded in 1887 by Swedish immigrants who settled in Fairfax. Over the years, the church has grown and evolved to reflect the changing needs and demographics of its congregation. Today, Our Savior's is a vibrant community that offers a variety of programs and activities for people of all ages.
Worship Services
Our Savior's offers two worship services every Sunday: traditional at 8:30 am and contemporary at 10:30 am. Both services feature inspiring music, relevant sermons, and opportunities for prayer and reflection. The church also celebrates special occasions such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday with unique services.
Christian Education
Our Savior's believes that learning about God should be an ongoing process throughout one’s life journey. Therefore they offer various educational programs for children through adults including Sunday School classes for children aged three through high school seniors; Confirmation classes for eighth-graders; Bible studies; book clubs; retreats; seminars on topics such as marriage enrichment or parenting skills etc.
Youth Programs
The youth program at Our Savior’s provides opportunities for young people to connect with each other while growing spiritually through fun activities like lock-ins or mission trips both locally or internationally.
Central Lutheran Church
Central Lutheran Church was founded in 1884 by Norwegian immigrants who settled in Rural Franklin. The church has a rich history of serving its community through various outreach programs and ministries.
Worship Services
Central Lutheran offers one worship service every Sunday at 9:00 am. The service features traditional hymns, liturgy, and a relevant sermon that speaks to the needs of the congregation.
Christian Education
Central Lutheran believes that Christian education is essential for spiritual growth and development. Therefore they offer various educational programs for children through adults including Sunday School classes for children aged three through high school seniors; Confirmation classes for eighth-graders; Bible studies; book clubs; retreats; seminars on topics such as marriage enrichment or parenting skills etc.
Outreach Programs
Central Lutheran is committed to serving its community through various outreach programs such as food shelves, clothing drives, disaster relief efforts both locally or internationally.
