Express Estate Agency Review

The service provided initially in the sale of our property and its resale when the first buyer pulled out was excellent. Everything promised promptly and well. Advice was clearly and sensible. The person working with us then left and the progression work and in particular the poor communications, became a problem. We had to chase repeatedly to get even simple things done, with the response that staff were 'very busy'. We were paying for a service and expect delivery, not excuses for things that the company is responsible for. Yes, we got a sale but we had months of hard work and worry, much of which could have been reduced or avoided. If we ever decide to sell again we will not use Express. Personally, though it appears more expensive, I think using a local conveyancer is better value.

I am very pleased with the service I received from this company. James Wong was my property negotiator and he managed to get me sold at full asking price. Would use again!

Ed Sharples has been first class throughout the process so far. He has been totally professional and kept us informed at all times. I have no doubt that he will continue to keep to these standards up to and including Completion .

Dealt with 2 people at express, Jonathan for the initial viewings etc and Katie for the actual buying, both were extremely helpful and very friendly. I was kept very well informed of what was going on and next steps and the service was simultaneously both personal and professional. Very pro-active with sellers ! Disadvantage: they've never seen the house or area, so are unable to counter any viewers' negative feedback. Advantage: their automated viewing appointments are very effective, when they are used. Took ~20 weeks, 8 viewings, to get an offer.

It's early days of house buying but so far, all has been good and have found the agency to be proactive . Really hope this level of service remains during the rest of the house buying process.

Natalie Jenkins was the agent for our house.
My husband and I both felt that Natalie lacked good communication skills and needs to be re trained or find an alternative post with her lack of professionalism.
Despite having experience with properties, buying our new home was made more stressful by Natalie and the vendor himself.
Natalie admitted on the phone that the vendor is a difficult character and we couldn t agree more. However it is then the role of the agent to professionally manage the vendor and not take out the frustration on the buyers.
The vendor took a long time to sort out his situation which kept us waiting and then suddenly wanted to rush the sale.
The vendor was slow and often reluctant to provide information when required. He wanted no questions asked. Natalie should have explained this to him but was too obsessed with keeping her client quiet and having less headache for her which shows her naivity in her role.
We spoke to Natalie on phone to see the progression of the sale and to see if the vendor had provided relevent information requested by the solicitor but she was extremely rude.
I appreciate she is representing the vendor, however that does not give her the right to be rude to the buyers. The exact words expressed by Natalie, You just don t like the fact that the vendor is in the driving seat and you re not . I feel like this is extremely childish and unprofessional. I felt I had nothing to say to such an immature unprofessional under trained employee. Now I will be buying investment properties and I will not use Natalie or express agents. Avoid at all costs.

Its pretty much the same as all the other we buy your ? For cash !! Offerings are way to low against the value of the items in this case houses ! Unless your in money troubles!! then people will just wait for the right people to buy. .

We would disagree with the positive reviews shown. We were very disappointed with the service.
1. Different case handlers and because of insufficient recording of case notes case handlers were not up to speed with the history of the case.
2. Reduction of sale price, on the internet, without permission.
3. No acknowledgment of termination letter.
4. Lack of communication.

Ive worked with Ed for a relatively short period of time - in fact, 9 weeks to be precise, in which time he's sourced a buyer. Throughout this time he created interest, managed viewing communications, acted professionally, offered speedy, frank feedback and gave me total reassurance that my property would sell. Having used 2 local estate agents in vain over the past 6 months - i will always return to Express without shadow of a doubt.

Cant beleive how rude the lady was who just called me. I advised we didnt want to place on market with them with responce to why not.

I am very happy to recommend the Express Estate Agency. I found the whole process in selling my house professionally managed. I had the pleasure of meeting John Exell who clarified the process. I was amazed at how quickly he managed to set up the viewings. I was nervous so he kindly came to show me the ropes. It went really well! In fact we got an offer for the asking price within two days - from a buyer who d only seen the details on their website!

It took five months to complete but that was because they were first time buyers. I value the timely support from Lauren Webster, James Latham, Alistair Lewis and Becci Kennerley. I have no reservations in recommending this outfit!

Recently purchased a property in Taunton via express estate agency.
In our chain there were 2 estate agents and three solicitors. The stand out person in the whole transaction was Muyee Shim at Express. Friendly, attentive, professional and a great communicator. Muyee was the only person to keep us informed, updated and phone us when she said she would. I would never have considered an internet based estate agency but would after the experience of dealing with Muyee. Outstanding service.

Kerry Diubek was extremely efficient and professional. I had my property on the market with other agents for more than a year and within 2 weeks of being with Express Estate Agency, I had 3 viewing and 2 offers. They have different departments for each stage. Hopefully the sale of the property goes smoothly too.

Recently dealt with Kirsten regarding letting my house. She has been a pleasure to deal with. Fab service! I was very nervous about letting my property out however express are very knowledgeable and helped answer all my questions.

Jury is out at the moment after 2 weeks with Express. Had 5 viewings with 1 no show and not a single bit if feedback. Dknt even get a courtesy from Express. Why am I doing all the chasing. Quite unhappy at the moment.

Lawson just seemed to stick to the script. Our situation was a bit different to normal, but I don't think he really understood. He phoned and texted 3 times in one day when I had told him my agent would take over.
The next person to call me seemed to have none of the details and I had to explain all over again..

Have tried to view 3 properties and not managed to see any yet! They are so disorganised and havent a clue what they are selling. Poor communication and they market houses that are sold. Use local estate agents who know your area!!!

Express Estate agency have got to be the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with. Very rude when on the phone never reply to emails little to no contact I have had 0 offers and 1 enquiry in 5 months. They claim to be proactive which involves sitting by a phone waiting for offers to come in. The sales pitch was false full of lies basically anything to get you to sign on the dotted line. Do not trust this company everything they say is designed to manipulate you.

China was very helpful and managed to organise selling my flat quickly.

Its impossible to get a hold of the designated estate agent.
Three days and 8 phone calls and still nothing.
I am trying to place an offer and this is the service they offer.
Please avoid at all costs and get someone else to sell your property.

At the start of our journey with Express there the service was a little confused. Messages didn't seem to get through to James and promised replies didn't happen. However, when James became aware of us he was very good at offering advice and keeping in touch with us and prospecting viewers.

Elliot was prompt and efficient and handled our purchase extremely well.

incredibly rude and obnoxious behaving in a threatening and aggressive I had my housing market with estate agent over 3 months I have over 12 booking viewingI can't believe they ask people for cash to get the property they want what a waste of time and a waste of money no they threaten me with court letters to recover their fees I was not even aware other fees!!!!! Stay a way from this estate agent.

We bought a property advertised on ExpressEstateAgency. There were a lot of issues with the chain, but Jarred kept things moving forward and at the eleventh hour when it looked like the chain would fall apart, he kept things together, took the lead and made sure contracts were exchanged.

I have not been impressed with the service provided
Initially we did not feel the pictures done the property the justice it deserves and can t understand why any estate agent would include a picture of an old under stairs pantry also the picture of the yard only showed the side of the house and not the yard itself.
The lighting on the pictures of the living room was awful and the shadows made the room look bad
This was mentioned and we were told that some new photos would be taken but it never happened
I was told I would be contacted at certain times but they never got in touch we had very limited communication
We have never had a for sale sign at the property despite requests made

When we requested to reduce the house price by 5% it was put on at a lower price


We could have easily sold it with any cheaper estate agent for that price so your cost is a rip-off

I would like to thank Oliver Harrison for his hard work during our house sale. I found him to be very knowledgeable and clearly motivated to get a sale.
After an initial slow start he recommended some small changes to the marketing and it paid dividends. I am extremely pleased with service and will definitly be using Express again.

Have twice tried to view a property. First time the owner was extremely restrictive about when the property could be viewed. Not the estate agency's fault. However, emailed asking for an alternative date. No response. Second time, never even got a call back when I phoned suggesting another date. Clearly making little effort to sell the flat. Would actively avoid buying or selling through this company.

Absolute cowboys, was told I was the only offer on a house that I was trying to buy then on a separate call 2 hours later was told the house had sold to a higher bidder the previous day. Terrible communication and false promises, avoid at all costs.

He has done what was promised and is trying to get a second interested party to put an increased offer in.

I gave 5 stars as we did get a few viewings and got a buyer.
Because of the nature of the property we were never going to have a queue after it.
Because it took sometime to get interest Jacob was hassling me to drop the price, that really was because he didn t know enough about the property.
We stuck to the price range we originally set and got it.
Otherwise all was great.

Poor service. Never respond to calls or emails and when you do finally get a sale agreed on your property, it's been 9 days and they havent even instructed the solicitors. We have continually had to chase them and we are getting passed pillar to post. Ironically when they want you to market your property with you they never stop ringing. Would not recommend.

Attempted to book appointment over the past two weeks, keep promising to call back. Never have. Pretty sure the seller hasn't even been asked. Managed to book three viewings in one day with a local agent instead.

As a first time seller james wong guided me through the sale process. He was there to answer my queries and gave a great service throughout. Would recommend to future sellers

Terrible estate agents. Far too expensive and cant be trusted. I would never in a million years let these people sell my house or buy a house through them again

completely disjointed, very bad service would avoid them like the plague if possible.

Completely useless agency. Don t use them. Our chain broke down after 6 months of them slowing things down. It was purely because of them and it easily could have been avoided. They refused to communicate properly and stone walled me when I called to get an update.

They said they would sell my house in weeks and not months or years. Had it up for sale 12 months. Told them to take my house off the market within 6 months. Not received any papers for solicitor fee and they refused my money back and blocked my number and my house is still on Rightmove. Worst company ever NEVER get back to you. Told my neighbor across the road that they had sold my house which is false. Pack of liers please don't use them.

Dealing with an agent called Mark who came across very rude on the phone. As first time buyers we are not impressed with the level of service received and will not be recommending to anyone. Would never purchase a property through this agent which is a shame as other members of staff we have spoken to have been great! Shame one person can ruin the reputation so easily!!

After the initial offer was placed and finding the property has already been sold STC, we were a little downbeat.
2 weeks later, Daniel Gee called us back immediately informing us the property was back on the market, our offer was accepted immediately.

Hopeless. Nobody seems to have a clue what is going on and anybody you speak to only wants to take your details all over again, before passing you on to somebody else who promises to phone back but never does. I can't begin to imagine how they manage to sell any houses...

We were made very welcome by the couple who owned the property, it immaculate throughout and well presented the only downfall was no garage or measurements on the rooms these were eventually sent to us by the estate agent.
