A piece of Europe in tranquil Darmstadt. The grounds of the Eumetsat are large and spacious. The offices and especially the command center is one of the best of its kind in the world! Here the operational operation of different satellites is coordinated. Guided tours can be booked, these are definitely worthwhile.

I had a chance to see the building but I did not go inside.
To observe the weather condition in south Asia particularly in monsoon season (June-September) related to cyclonic circulation from the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean is very realistic in EUMETSAT data observation system. It is very helpful in order to find the transformation of moisture content and atmospheric circulation in monsoon period. It is also informative for the moisture input from Arebian Ocean together with Westerlies. In general, it gives clear pictures on both summer and winter monsoons on the Himalayas, in South Asia.
Since I work there, of course, all thumbs up! It is worthwhile to take part in a guided tour. This aligns the Darmstadt marketing.

After entering this high-security complex (fence, video surveillance and security personnel, which also lives up to its name.), A tour of around 90 minutes awaits you. It was very interesting and entertaining. You learn something about satellite technology, the organization and much more.
The tour gave an interesting insight into European and international space travel. We are lucky to have such a location in Germany!
Very impressive and worth seeing what is managed by this control station on satellites. Great films and photos about our earth and the climate can be seen there.
