Absolutely the WORST customer service. I can't even begin to explain how bad my experience has been working with EWEB. After ending my service at my address, I moved and had been anticipating a final bill at my new address. Never received one. A month later, I get a call from my old roommate - and EWEB had transferred my balance onto his account. WHAT? I called and tried to sort it out, but they were completely unwilling to work with me. They forced me to call my previous roommate, get added as an approved user for HIS account, just to make my final payment. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I moved apartments 6 months ago, all I wanted to do was transfer service from my old apartment to my new one. I literally moved NEXT DOOR to my old apartment. I didn't think it would be a difficult request. 6 months and a million minutes on hold with EWEB later, they charged me over 3 thousand dollars for water and electric service on an account that is not mine. If you ask me, the people working at EWEB are completely incompetent.

I'm not sure that the fellow below me has lived in...

I'm not sure that the fellow below me has lived in many places. Eugene and the Pacific Northwest have some of the lowest electric rates in the nation. We pay something like 8-9 cents per kilowatt hour. I think parts of Idaho may be lower, but that's about it. Try living in Hawaii with rates of 33 cents an hour or California where it's 12+ cents an hour. Never had any issues with service other than the occasional power outage that gets resolved in a few minutes or a couple hours (in the case of a major storm that knocked down power lines.)

When you go to sign up for electricity and the clerk knows about a DHS case I had open when I was 17-18. That was a long as time ago! I cried because this complete stranger knew details about that case. This man went above and beyond today to make sure I didn't have to pay the 150 dollar deposit to hook up service and I would like to thank him for his service as he is a military veteran Caleb from EWEB, you are my hero and have given me hope! I won't ever give up!

EWEB is nothing short of a monopoly. I have seen relentless increases in electricity costs over the past year and wish I could get power somewhere else. Constant lazy road work, confusing and inconsistent bills, and exorbitant charges from seemingly nowhere, have, needless to say, left something to be desired. And if that wasn't enough, when I call to dispute these mystery charges, their computers are down. The second call resulted in an inaccurate conclusion on how much I owed them. I called a third time one month later to dispute even more late charges for money I did not know I owed... again. Thank you for teaching me patience and a few other valuable lessons. Bravo. You beat me.

If I could, I would give negative stars to EWEB. F...

If I could, I would give negative stars to EWEB. Firstly, we pay 150% for service as our neighbors in Springfield and rates continue to climb. They charge hook up fees, processing fees, seasonal fees, and the list goes on. No wonder they need a financial aid program when prices are so high! While most employees of Eweb are pleasant enough to deal with, I rarely find someone who is prepared to deal with what I consider basic customer service. For instance, I needed to make a payment by phone to begin service. The employee I talked to told me they didn't have that option (which is not true)... I was transferred to another employee who eventually accepted my payment. The reason for having to give payment to a real person you ask? They have a kink in the system that doesn't allow you to make an automated payment to an account if power is off, and the employees are all somehow unaware of this. Being the operator of a property management company, I have the displeasure of dealing with Eweb dozens (if not more) of times per year. Most of the problems arise from the fact that Eweb pays a board of directors six figure salaries to continually write new policies, not for the sake of making actual progress I might add, but to justify their own jobs. Meanwhile these policies seem to only trickle down to only the newest of employees so that no two employees that you ever talk to seem to have the same grasp on Eweb's own policies. Ahh, the beauty of bureaucracy....

Worst utility company out there. I fell behind on payments when my fiance lost her job. They called me asking for their money. They said I could do a payment arrangement. I offered them $300 a month on a $500 bill and they wouldn't accept it. So much for trying to pay my bills. No these guys want to raise their rates???

Just look at the other comments. Shitty, condescending customer service. Lady had the nerve to talk down to me, then couldn't even adequately explain what a smart meter is. Also read me someone else's account info. Good job /s. If you are struggling financially, they will basically ignore that comment and "cheerfully" keep moving on. Their service restoration fees are also criminal. Eweb makes Comcast look incredible by comparison. I'd 0/5 if I could.

They weren't sending me any form of bill for my current address to either my mail box or email and then I get a phone call out of nowhere saying they are gonna shut me off unless I pay 300$. I had only been living in my apartment for a month.... on top of that when I called in to get my service started they said I had a past due balance of almost 400$ from a previous address from 7 years ago!!! When I had called and cancelled service MONTHS before the bill that was in question. Apparrently when I called to cancel service they cancelled the service assistance I had instead of my ACTUAL service. What a joke. Do you not have employees who can understand english? If I could go through anybody else for service I would.

Eweb charges you for water run-off.

Eweb charges you for water run-off.

I also read a report that the electric meters used by Eweb maybe over or under calculating electric consumption.

Eugene is among the most mild climate I've ever lived in and yet its also been the most I've been charged for utilities.

I wish I had a choice for another power company but nope, we don't get a choice.

The worst place on planet earth. Like there are prisons that give their inmates more fairness than eweb. Literally a monopoly that makes up rates at will. We have thought of moving our house to Springfield...not just move to a new one but actually move the whole house. It would cost us less to do this than pay their outrageous rates.

For the second time, I received a Past Due notice ...

For the second time, I received a Past Due notice when I never got a bill recently. Solution - set up eBilling, right? Forget it. Their website is a disaster, and Bill Gates could not get it to work. The obvious goal is to have the customer give up after deciphering the website over hours, hopefully generating late fees. Other comments here have been made that the website is a poor design. How can you not see this is part of their scam? They are evasive, sneaky, and amoral. How does someone older or someone with the slightest disadvantage ever keep their electricity on?

A 2 inch square tiny article in the Register Guard last year reported the average employee makes $119,000/yr. Granted there are administrators that make more, but what does that say about the majority of the employees? Making great money.

In 65 years, I have lived all over this country and bought utilities. EWEB is absolutely the worst. There is a formal complaint site for Oregon Public Utilities, but good luck going through their vague and lengthy instructions.

About 2-3 years ago, EWEB increased their base fee...

About 2-3 years ago, EWEB increased their base fee, from about $7 or $8 UP TO OVER $20... So essentially they TRIPLED the base fee in one swoop. I'm not ok with that BS, and furthermore, no warning? I asked them why I wasn't informed at least, even though I disagree with the change, and I got the answer "well it was in the media"... Great so you all decide not to pay 40 cents ONE TIME per customer to let them know you're increasing their base monthly fee by 13 bucks? Retarded greedy fks. BTW I rarely watch mainstream TV, but I do read the occasional online post, and the occasional newspaper, and I didn't see it being readily advertised anywhere.

Why can't there be another power company to drive competition?

The only reason I give 2 stars is because, at least the people in the office are nice, and the electricity is always on(aside from bad storms etc).
