A large beautiful board game shop with a wide selection, fair prices, and a great back area for playing board games or magic. That with their friendly knowledgeable staff has made this my go to LGS!
This is an awesome place to hang out and roll some dice. It has become the default meeting place for my friends and I. The are a wide variety of games and you are always treated like family.
Great place to gather with friends, or meet new friends, while gaming. Big selection of board games to try for free. My son likes all the opportunities to play Magic TG.
Unlike any of the game stores that exisit in the area. They have a detailed list of merchandise. Are always going to give you top notch service. And will do what they can to get the game you want to you, if possible. Service is friendly and they are quick to greet and acknowledge you. Boardgame library is huuuge! Definitely check this place out!
This place is great and welcoming. On Sundays the kids get together play and trade Pokemon. The adults there take time and help the kids get started. Beginners to pros. Thumbs up to the staff!
Was extremely disappointed to see that Ettin is not following the Executive Order mask mandate by Gov. Abbott, nor the mask mandate put in place by the Harris County Judge.
Over half of the 10+ gamers in the store were not wearing masks, nor was the employee on staff as they talked to and helped customers. There was no effort by Ettin to space out tables or limit the number of players in the gaming area; it was as if it was just another day at the game store and this pandemic was just a distant memory.
I was holding off on leaving a comment or writing a review, but the employee on staff changed my mind. He told us that bottled waters were now free: the owner had bought a pallet of bottled water because Ettin had been "fire marshaled" and since masks are not required when eating or drinking, we could all be given a free water in case the authorities stopped by again. The fact that Ettin would go to such lengths to not comply with the mask mandates and guidelines put out by the government when said guidelines are *so incredibly easy to follow* is incredibly sad and disappointing.
I don't want Ettin to get fined or get in trouble with the authorities. I simply want them to actually follow the rules *ALL* businesses must follow. Until they do, such blatant disregard for the safety of their customers is unacceptable and I will be taking my business elsewhere.
This shop is fantastic! My friend and I checked out the store late Saturday night and Dave was so nice. He took the time to talk with us about all of the table top games and explained each ones pros and cons. They have all of its product up front when you walk in and then the back 2/3rds is all about gaming space. The selection of new and used items is terrific. The shop is also so clean and open. They also have a terrific library of board games that you can crack open and play at any time. I can't wait to join in on some good tabletop gaming there soon.
Very helpful staff and friendly atmosphere. Large selection of board games and the staff was very nice and made a lot of recommendations. Also a large supply of models as well as painting supplies. Definitely will come again.
Everyone was friendly and I wasn t pushed to by anything. Everyone seemed enthused to work there and loved talking about the games. They have a huge free library we re you can try out most games.
Staff is great, especially with kids. They really go the extra mile to make sure they have a great time. I highly recommend them to anyone. Plus their pricing is very fair, unlike other places that price gauge.
Great game store for both table top and role playing games. Good selection of games and accessories with a decent playing area in the back. Just come early to grab a space and keep an eye out for scheduled events as they have priority for tables. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable but can get a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people.
I've been to a LOT of game shops over the years and this is by far the best. The store is well lit, clean, organized and they keep the shelves well stocked. There are plenty of tables and always some kind of event going on. The staff are knowlegable and friendly. I've never walked in without someone at least welcoming me. And they're always eager to answer questions or make recommendations. It's a great place.
One less than 5 because they've outgrown their current location, but the reason they have is because it's the best game store in Northeast Houston. Great selection, helpful staff, and a huge game library.
It's a great shop for table top games, miniatures and accessories; but for MTG cards they don't do bulk discounts on packs like other stores where buying a standard box is about $110 after tax here you're charged for the sum of the value of the 36 packs in the box (somewhere a bit over $150) which is a bit steep when the shop buys singles at 50% of market value.
Best selection of Dungeons and Dragons, miniatures and miniature supplies, table top RPGs, board games, Magic the Gathering, and all the dice and accessories that I've found in the Humble area. That alone is reason enough to visit, but you add in the friendly and down to earth staff and it's perfect for antisocial introverts like myself.
Honestly the best game store I have ever stopped in. Super helpful staff. Great at recommending games to fit what I was looking for. Knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions.
The Good: My very first game store. Lots of stock (boardgames, RPGs, cards, etc.) and lots of gaming tables. Staff has fluctuated over the years with good and meh but weighted toward good. Have even gamed with the owner.
The Bad: It's been awhile since I've been to ANY game store since my group now meets way yonder, but I've just started playing 40k and figured I could get together here to learn from some players. I was looking forward to it. However, I have a weak immune system, and found out they refuse to enforce safety mandates (and brag about it!) I don't even want to enter the store. I'm not the only one.
So disappointed. It's not like they would lose a SINGLE customer by requiring masks. They'd rather alienate some customers just to be rebels.
Great store, probably one of the best ive been too. Great atmosphere, all the different actvities/games going on. A lot to get involved in. Gamers are helpful and friendly, have never noticed clique groups, all game groups have been open and inviting...gotta say its really refreshing.
This is the best little gaming store I've seen in a long time period even if you're not into gaming they have arcades and Air hockey. They have a large selection of Pathfinder and 3.5. Plus they allow you to host your own games upstairs. I myself run a campaign and you can always find players here who are willing to fill chairs. You can find them at
When I first found this store I drove an hour every Friday to play Magic: The Gathering. I passed up three other gaming stores on the way because I love the community so much. The focus was always on having fun. I ve gotten a little better over the years and now live just around the corner and the store still has my regular business. To go to another store would feel like cheating on my wife!
The staff are always super nice and even though the faces change, the community is Uber friendly, always welcoming new players who enjoy nerding out with us. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys gaming. The wall of free-to-use board games is one of my favorite features.
My friends and I have been shopping at this location for years - I can t believe I m just now leaving a review for them! I seriously love this place. The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. The gaming merchandise selection is incredible. You ll find just about anything here at a fair price. I particularly love their Magic the Gathering singles cabinet and D&D merchandise!
The staff was very helpful and friendly. My husband and I dropped in on a busy night. They still took time to answer all of our questions and welcome us to the community. The best genuine experience at a game store in a long time. I highly recommend for people just beginning or veteran.
what's there to review? I love it and games. They've got a great selection, the guys are always helpful, and it's convenient to the house. What more do you want?
Great store, super friendly staff. When I came into the store a few months ago to buy my first MTG deck they walked me through the different formats and what accessories they have to protect the cards. During the week they host different event for different types of games such as Warhammer, D&D, MTG and even family board games night. Even during the covid pandemic everything is kept clean and events were well spaced out for everyone's protection. I have a lot of fun and have met some great people here.
Super helpful staff and beyond friendly. Great selection of table top games and pricing is good for brick and mortar store. About a 40 minute drive for me so I don't go often but I'm passing over closer stores to get there.
Wife of a Gamer. I've been married to a Gamer for over 20 years now. I've been dragged into game shops from Washington state all the way to Florida and several in between. (even a few in Canada).
This by far is the most woman friendly game shop I've ever been in. The bathroom was nice and well maintained. A 1/3 of the customers were women.
The best part is they have a library of games you can play. I am guessing about 250+ games. Euro Games, Card Games, Party Games and Family Games,...
I love Board Games, which usually is an after thought, but not here.
Super Cool location they have all the board game you could want and if they dont they will order it, and it's my favorite place to play Magic The Gathering
Store is amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Every time I go there is always a lot of games running. Great selection of games, books, miniatures, and paints. Great community.
Ettin is great, I just wish it was closer! It has an amazing selection of vintage RPG material, but it's often sitting in the back since it doesn't sell well. Call ahead and ask if Dave is there; he'll pull everything out for you and decide on prices. It's also a great place for organized play, with everything from miniatures painting, MTG, Pathfinder, D&D2e and above, and board games. They have gaming nights dedicated to each, so check out their online calendar.
This place is nothing but enjoyable and family friendly. Whatever that fake account says about Jay cussing in front of children is a total lie! He s very caring and attentive to us all. He s helped my kid with his decks & has given him free More
I love Ettin. I have been going there for three years now. MTG.. Board games....and now with dragon ball z card game. It's true that it doesn't have A Lot of card games but the People there are great prices are competitive to the market and not over priced.. You can go there and not feel left out great place to attract try and u bet you come back. Again...
Wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff! Family Fun Day was our 1st introduction and we had a blast! Amazing staff actually taught us how to play a beautiful game while our Easter eggs dried. We will be back soon to play with you all again. Thanks for being awesome!
The staff at Ettin are knowledgeable and friendly! They provide great services for gaming groups (DM donation for store credit) and regular players are remembered (you can keep a 'tab' at the register for your small snack and soda purchases over the day, paying at the end of the visit). Their special events (store anniversary/birthday and Christmas specifically) are social occasions full of fun and frivolity. It's a community of gamers that love their fandoms and display it proudly. A leader in encouraging play for kids and adults! LOVE YOU GUYS!
Great place to play magic friendly & knowledgeable staff always willing to help & answer any questions you may have to bad I can only give them 5 stars
Went to take a look at the store, since it's close to where I work. Very small selection of games (though it seemed like they may have had a decent stock of cards behind the counter). Was ignored by everyone in there, and after about 10 minutes decided I was quite done - which is a shame, because I came in with the intention of buying something at least.
Perhaps it was just an off day, but the saying that you never get a second chance to make a first impression is very true. What I saw doesn't lead me to think they'll get another one from me.
