I was self admitted to Harmony back in January of 2016. I was a broken, angry drunk and drug addict. When I arrived there were around 15-20 men in treatment. Which was staffed accordingly. Within one week of being there, I had not met my primary counselor Pam. She was apparently on vacation so I had Joseph for the first couple weeks and the head count the went to 42. I am one of those people that need one on one sessions, not group therapy. So if your like me, I would find somewhere else. I had a couple of anger outbursts while I was up there, which they frown upon! We're drug addicts and drunks trying to cope with emotions we haven't had in a long time! Of course were going to have anger, rage, and confusion. Especially when we're not getting the guidance and help we paid for. Out of the 9 people that were in Pam's group when I was up there, non of us stayed sober, 4 of us got kicked out of treatment, two for using drugs (one of these kids overdosed a couple weeks ago and is no longer with us), one for "not doing the work," and I got kicked out for anger, which I never made threats or hurt anyone or myself. The "mens" side was at capacity and Pam missed so much work her group was in chaos. I believe they needed to fill more spots (becauae this place is a money pit) so they kicked out roughly 8 people total. 4 from my group and 4 from other groups as well. They were incredibly understaffed, and we were treated like animals. It reminded me of going to boarding school all over again. I had two full hours of one on one therapy while I was up there, the techs were horrible and rude except a couple. The best part of that place was the nursing staff. Dawn was the sweetest nurse and they all kept really good care of us. I think I had more "therapy" time with the nurses than I did with any other staff there. I'm disappointed I spent $27,000.00 and was kicked out two days before graduation. This place is a joke. I would honestly weight your options before jumping into this. I am currently sober and have been for months. I think Harmony set me back further because I was put on more medication than when I went in. I have recently gone off all of that and have got the therapy I needed to start a new foundation. If you do go there, DO NOT GET PAM FOR A COUNSELOR. You will relapse! Ex tweakers shouldn't be working there, they should sponsor people in N/A. Because you can never trust a tweaker, especially with your life and sobriety.
