I enjoyed a burger special, and by the look of the place, i didnt have very high expectations based on the look and feel of the "kitchen", but it was actually pretty damn good! serves me right for judging a book by its cover.

Classic dive in an area where they're dying out. Jukebox is awesome but was broken when we visited!

After becoming a regular here, I can honestly say this is one of the best bars in Chicago. I think I a good bar is one you're comfortable in. That's what estelles gives you. The music is always good. I like to visit Wednesday, my most stress filled day. Great punk music, with a low light atmosphere that allows me to just sit down and think through my day, my week. The Wednesday bartender, Levi, what he's doing. Great drinks while making you feel welcomed. They always have great beer on the menu. While I am a fan of stouts, you won't be disappointed by the ipa's. This isn't a dance club. This is a great place to either start or end a bar crawl. Or both. I wouldn't blame you for coming back for more.

Edit: it's summer now, like 90 degrees, and this place uses AC like it's free. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Lots to like about the food. The guacamole and pico taste fresh. The space is unpretentious and has an inviting atmosphere. Bartenders are attentive and excellent at what they do.

Place had stellar music and bartenders were pretty cool. They switch sides when serving the whole bar. Get what you need when you like to get it, there were quesadillas too, Noone expects food at a bar like this but there was food. The bathroom was clean, the door way was clear there are places to sit and see directly outside just in case if you have friends coming. You can chose music at the Juke Box.

One of the few remaining late bars in the area. A great place to cap off a night of drinking in Wicker Park. Friendly, fast staff. Minus one star simply because of circumstance. Being one of the few remaining bars open late, I'm usually packed in like a sardine by the time I get there.

Estelle's has great specials. My favorite is two dollar tuesday for beers. They have greata food that is made literally in front of you. And their sitting area reminds me of a low lit dinner, but with a cozy feeling. There is some room to dance and stand around to talk. Each time I have gone the service has been great and the bartenders are very friendly.

Bad music and bad service. Would be cool if there weren't 1000 wickerbros pumping emo music at earsplitting levels. It's a Wrigleyville nightmare mascarading as a hip dive lounge.

A little overpriced and, at least with the late night crowd, far too crowded to actually be able to move around.
I'll have to check it out sometime in the day as well, because I've heard good things, but I don't think it's worth going to after midnight unless it's your only option.
Better places in the area worth checking out.

Reasonably priced drinks, relaxed atmosphere, friendly bartenders, great beer selection. I couldn't possibly want for more at this bar.

Estelles is a bar that is close to my house and open late and that's the only good thing I have to say. Twice now, my wife, has been denied access because of her foreign passport. We are going through immigration to change her status. I feel like that is close minded and there are plenty of other places that will take my money. Bunch of facists! Good riddance!

JUKEBOX has some very interesting choices for the space. Bartenders were great with recommendations on ciders. Let me taste a draft before deciding.

I had been meaning to visit here for a while, and I'm glad I finally did. Their fries were delicious and drinks normally priced for the neighborhood.

One of my favorite bars in the city. Solid prices, good food, great location. Not to mention the awesome staff, not to mention Zach, Brittney, & Beef (spelling?). Happy hour is an awesome deal.

I liked this place a lot but it's gone down the hill. I went here with my husband half a year ago on Friday night and we waited for 30 minutes and no waitress came to get our orders, we left the first time but last weekend we decided to give them another chance and went there on Friday night again for dinner and same story all over again they checked our IDs at the door and we sat down on a table waited 20 minutes and nobody came again so we just left. Never coming here again.

Estelle's is great a place. I used to come here every week for the Thursday Chicago hot dog special. They were amazing.. Unfortunately, they've completely gotten rid of that and replaced them with quesadillas. They're okay but just nothing like those delicious dogs. They say they only used the hot dog ingredients on Thursdays, so it wasn't worth it. But let me tell you.. they are worth it. Bring back the hot dogs. Make them a regular menu item. Bring back some hope for wicker park.

We waited incredibly long for our food. Not because they were busy. You can see the grill and fryer from the bar. They just waited a really long time to start cooking. It took let than 10 mins from the time they actually started cooking. Food is excellent, but will take forever to get.

Door staf is polite yet stern so that's ALWAYS a good thing and drinks are reasonable just get your song selection in before Justine and Rebecca clogg the jukebox's arteries with Ed Sheeran

Great prices for the location! There's always a good vibe in Estelle's. An awesome door person and Rico, ensure a good safe time. I've never run into a negative person here. To begin their staff is awesome! Ratboy on the grill will satisfy your hunger. They have unique bites. The fried green beans are delicious and reasonably priced. Everything he cooks up is delicious, cooked right in front of you and sanitary (gloves are worn). Levi will charm you while he quenches your thirst. Very affordable drinks. They have a mix and match drink menu which includes a beer and a shot for $8. ( That's Cheap)! They also make an excellent large Martini! There's an area that is often used to dance. The music will inspire dancing to a song or two, several times throughout the night. Lastly, I always meet awesome people here not to mention, beautiful women. The place isn't huge but, there's plenty of bar space and some booths, for a more intimate setting. I took friends in town from N.Y. here this weekend, they had a great time!!! Estelle's is a long time gem in Wicker Park!!!

Best happy hour I've been to. Half off everything from 4-7pm. Not too crowded or loud either. Just a great bar all around!

Great selection of drinks, good prices and they deep fry the tortilla chips for the nachos. A must have when you come in at 3:00am looking to soak up all the bad decisions you've made that night.

Great bar. Been around for years, so you know their doing something right. Awesome food and the kitchen is open late, late, night, I think the kitchen closes at 2am. The bar is open til 4am, 5am on the weekends. Cheap drinks, if you like the sort of thing.

Typical 4am Dive Bar with acceptable food. Their kitchen runs late but they switch to only sides later in the evening. For a late night meal and shot, it's pretty decent.

One of my favorite spots in Wicker. Really cheap drinks, usually a good movie playing on the TVs, and an interesting mix of patrons. No Milwaukee crawl is complete without a few rounds at Estelle's.

One of the coolest bars in the U.S. Jukebox is high quality. No BS. If you want modern day pop this isn't your place for tunes. Perfect dive bar w a great crowd.

Great bartenders, fair prices, and great food. I went around 6pm on a Thursday so service was quick and on point. I will be sure to visit again.

I love this place. I've been drinking (and eating) here for 12 years. The food is good, service is friendly (with bartenders who know what they're doing), and there's all sorts of cool people to look at and talk to. Excellent beer list, too, and they're almost all $2 on Tuesdays. Open late, and it gets real interesting late at night, even during the week. I feel like lots of service industry folks frequent here. And they have a notable plethora of hot friendly girls in here after midnight, just about every time.

Dive prices for a pretty nice atmosphere. Specials almost every night, and I didn't order the food, but it smelled amazing.

Nuances of low light underground diner experiences, this cafe and lounge is a wonderful spot in Wicker Park. Only downside is the price of drinks.
