We had Essential help us make our backyard our personal sanctuary. Porter s landscape design went beyond what we could have imagined! Stone path to the back gate, hydro seed, and landscaping, lighting, and a water feature - the bonus is the instruction we received on each plant that was added. So informative and helpful! We re loving every minute of our time spent in this garden paradise! THANK YOU!

The Essential Team goes above and beyond to help their customers. Jose was so kind to assemble this P-40 Yard spinner, on his lunch hour! God Bless the team of Juan, Jose and Fernando. 10 Star Award!
I called the office to schedule an appointment because we needed some maintence and sprinkler heads repaired and some extended. I ask how much it would cost to have them come out. I was advised that it was a service call of $65 for the first ten minutes to assess. If we were to have the work done it would be $79 for the first hour plus any cost of the parts to replace. I specifically ask if they were at the home an hour or less if I would be charged the $65 and the $79 for that hour. I was told NO that if I had the work completed it would be a charge of just the $79 plus parts. They came out and completed the work in less than an hour. The work was done great but guess what when I received the bill? I have both a $65, a $79 and parts charge. I called the office and spoke to both Dee and Rhonda who could have cared less that I was told one thing and billed another. I specifically ask this question when booking the appointment. Maybe I was advised incorrectly but they clearly just didn't care. I wouldn't recemmend this company and will not use them again. Dishonest.....
We have been a loyal Essential Lawn customer since they went into business. They do our weekly lawn maintenance and all landscaping needs we might have. Steve and everyone who works for him are always willing to go the extra mile to provide the best service possible.
I had an old locust tree cut down about 18 months ago, but a massive root system remained in the ground and left a large hump in my back yard rendering it nearly unusable. I wanted to have the root system excavated and the yard graded so my family could start using it.
Essential Landscaping was referred to me by my lawn care company. Porter at Essential was out to my place within 24 hours of my initial call and gave me a reasonable estimate. He stayed in contact with me through the estimate and scheduling process. When the time to begin my job arrived, he kept me updated about time frame and weather conditions.
The work crew arrived on time and were very professional. The root system turned out to be bigger than anticipated, but the crew worked determinedly at it and eventually got it removed. The yard was graded and seeded. The yard is now in a state where it will be useable for my family. Because there was additional time, work and equipment involved due to the large root system, I received an additional charge on my invoice. But it was in line with the work done.
I am very satisfied with the work done by Essential Landscaping and Irrigation. I recommend them without reservation. If you are in need of landscaping services, you will be happy with the work done by Essential.
Essential Landscaping did a great job re-doing my paver walkway and courtyard last year. I continue to get compliments on it by everyone that sees it. Jaime and the team of guys were hard workers, did a quality job, and the re-design came out beautiful!
I was in desperate need of getting my yard mowed for the first time this spring. I called several companies and individuals, and left messages; only one called me back. Essential was the only company that actually answered the phone and promised to call back. He did. He came out the next day to assess the yard. He said he'd have a proposal tomorrow and would be back to mow early next week. The next morning their office called and said they'd be able to mow today. They came and my yard looks great! I really appreciate their understanding of the situation and willingness to work me in their busy schedule. Pricing is reasonable, too. I look forward to future projects with them.
These guys installed our irrigation system years ago and have tested and turned on the system every spring and purged the lines and shut it down in late fall every since. We haven't had many issues with the system since we had it installed but they've been very good and reasonably priced in handling what few issues we have had. Last year we had them redo our 20 year old landscape (out with a lot of old plants and shrubs and replaced with new) and build a new deck. We are pleased with the results of both as well as the professional manner in which their crew conducted themselves. We do have a couple of minor issues where deck boards were not well secured and have come loose but they're standing behind their work and you can't ask more than that.
Disappointed with the irrigation work installed by Essential Landscaping. The project took three attempts to complete the job to sub standard quality. The drain basins are of all different sizes. Communication for the estimate was okay, but the communication regarding the irrigation work was below acceptable. As a follow-up, Essential Landscaping immediately responded and have fixed the issues pertaining to our drainage project.
At first things went quite well. I had to get a plumber to adjust one of the fittings, but after that the system worked fine. In mid summer, the irrigation controller failed due to old age and they promptly repaired it. At that time, I mentioned to the technician that the meter should be left disconnected at the end of the summer and he assured me that was standard operating procedure for the company. When it came time to close down for the winter, the meter was left in placed. It took 2 phone calls to get someone to stop by and remove it. They came while I was walking the dog, cut a huge chunk of pipe from the system and left without any explanation. The repair cost more than $200, so I will not recommend them to anyone.
