Lovely friendly hotel, it has the feel of a family-run business. Nice area to sit outside. Pleasant restaurant with good food - great afternoon teas! Only a few minutes stroll from Leamington town centre.

I had a great stay here for two nights. Rooms are excellent, clean and quiet, breakfast delicious and hotel well located for the charming town and railway station. Well priced, great value for money.

This place is a little off. They're clearly going for a boutique hotel feel, but they don't quite make it.

I was travelling for work, and I suspect I was in one of the cheapest rooms. Each room is unique, but the mismatched junk-shop furniture vibe was trending more towards just being shabby than being shabby chic. Also the chain for raising and lowering the blind was broken in my room, which combined with a couple of other observations indicates they aren't maintaining it too well.

During my stay, it appeared that they were having staffing problems. On one morning, the breakfast which was supposed to start at 7am was not forthcoming at all due to a lack of any staff to take orders or complete the breakfast set up. I ended up doing the last of the setup myself, so that I and other guests could at least get a hot drink and some toast while we waited for a waitress to arrive.

The quality of the food was good. Nothing on the menu was particularly innovative or exciting, but it was done well and the portions were good. The rooms were comfortable, as was the bed. I slept well all week as the hotel has a fairly quiet location, whilst still being within easy walking distance of the main street.

All in all, I enjoyed my stay here. I would be happy to return.

Lucky the staff are lovely, otherwise this hotel would be a complete disaster. We were 2 couples in 2 rooms. (Room 30 & 31) stayed 3 nights (oct 13 to 16) both rooms had no heating when the hotel turned on the heating for the first nights stay, heating in the hotel wasn't turned on for the second or third night. Room 31 has a small gap in the window so the room was always cold. Breakfast is the biggest disaster or joke, as they wasn't enough glasses for juice, cups for tea/ coffee and you can forget about the sauces. Once you get a cup you might have to wait for the coffee ! Plates for toast were quite rare too we ended up using napkins. Also one extra member of staff to clear tables and replenish breakfast supplies would be useful. The higher management or owner should really stay as a guest or work as staff on breakfast shift, as we would not stay here again or recommend the episode to anyone.

We booked this hotel but unfortunately this was cancelled on the morning of our stay due to a leak in the bedrooms. I am therefore unable to review the hotel facilities however the staff dealt with this issue (which was out of their control) very efficently by contacting us early in the morning and had already arranged alternative accommodation in a nearby hotel. Thank you Craig for your prompt resolution to this problem and we hope you manage to get sorted soon. We would hope to book again in the future.

Some reviews were a little less than kind, but having stayed in good and bad hotels all over Europe, I found this hotel to be better than average. There's always room for improvement and some aspects of the decor are in need of attention, More

From the time we arrived there were problems, some parts of the stay were very good interspersed with some dire moments. The room was dark and dingy with a view of a brick wall, bulbs missing or not working, the kettle was missing and the bed was soft. Some parts of the evening meal were delicious and other parts would not have been acceptable in a 1 star cafe. The receptionist was excellent but some other members of staff had obviously not had any training. The final straw was when the milk was off at breakfast and someone had to go out to buy a few pints!

Reasonable for the price but a little lacking in attention to detail. Food was disappointing and waiting staff seemed inexperienced. Staff hinted that the hotel was under new ownership and it became evident that management were busy looking at fixtures and fittings without much, if any thought for the paying guests.

This hotel has a lovely air conditioned bar with a nice popular beer garden in the summer. We're talking very nice bar rather than pub! A great way to catch the late evening sun in the summer. I have previously stayed at this hotel as well. Food was very nice, along with food and drink service. Rooms were nice. Still one of the better hotels in Leamington Spa. A very quick walk to the centre - very convenient.

Hotel was nice and the food was very tasty. Our room was a little hot and the party going on downstairs until midnight wasn't great, but it wasn't too bad. We did have a noisy neighbour on our first night too, but that's no fault of the hotel!

We stayed a single night after attending a wedding in the area. We didn't really spend enough time at the hotel to have strong views either way. The staff were very polite, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was just what was needed after an evening of festivities.

Shocking

Shocking
Attended afternoon tea for 2. No cutlery on table had to ask. Generally unclean with dirty floor and uninviting surroundings
Tea arrived with a scone sandwiches quiche and dried up piece of cake with filling. Waiter did kindly agree to sell sandwich and quiche as these were not to out taste but we were horrified he picked them.up and took them.off in his hands rather than using a plate
Had to ask for cutlery and glass of champagne included in deal.
Buyagift picture did not match the tea we received

Room was basic, tv tiny, shower space small, no central light. no information about hotel in room, no top up of beverage items for 2nd night. Bed ok but a hard mattress and pillows very soft. Floor carpet not exceptionally clean as walked from one side to other and feet dirty!
Breakfast on 1st morning disgraceful, scrambled eggs had black sections, beans cheap not cheerful and no taste, sausage awful, mushrooms and bacon under cooked and yoghurts not in a chilled container and in heat at this time of year not good for bacteria build up.
Refused to pay and didn't have breakfast following morning.
Could do with some upgrading tbh.

Last Sunday we had a lovely 90th birthday celebration for my father at the Episode. The manager Ian couldnt have been more helpful when we made the booking and made sure all our wishes were met. The lunch we had was beautifully presented and tasted delicious! There was a lovely choice of food and plenty to eat. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Altogether a lovely family celebration. We couldnt have asked for more. Many thanks.

Do not stay here if you're disabled. The room has smoking area outside the window and the nights I stayed the it was like Piccadilly circus until 10.30/11.00 P.m. I did not like the swearing strate outside the window

Afternoon tea bought as a gift. Very poor/selection of sandwiches (3 small triangles each). Poor selection of cake one of which looked like it had been made as a pudding then cut up and served with afternoon tea. Had to ask for our glass of champagne (sparklingly wine). Would not recommend.

Having just returned from the "afternoon tea for t...

Having just returned from the "afternoon tea for two" at the Episode Hotel in Leamington Spa, which was a birthday present for my wife, I can safely say that it was the WORST afternoon tea we have ever experienced.

We have been to many afternoon teas and thus we were looking forward to another good one.

To summarise

The crockery was a complete mis-match with the cups not fitting the saucers and saucers as side plates.

There were 3 sandwiches, one of which was coated in thick mustard which thus rendered it inedible, one we had no idea as to what the filling was and the other was egg coated in thick mayonnaise.

There was a cheese and tomato quiche which we informed the waiter was not acceptable to my Wife as she can't eat cheese. He said he would find an alternative but this did not transpire.

The scones were rock hard and there was a slab of madeira cake which was dry and topped with unrecognisable artificial cream.

As for the tea, the teapot had just one teabag which made the tea "as weak as dishwater"

Nothing like the picture on the web site

Stayed for one night for work, the room was dirty, staff really rude and the restaurant was only serving Indian food apparently this week, and was the worst Indian I ve ever eaten. Was on a main road so really noisy to get to sleep and had to get up at 2am to ask two men to keep the noise down on the corridor.Would never recommend this hotel to anyone

Great looking hotel, with nice rooms and restaurant in a great location. Sadly it is in need of some TLC needing redecorating through out, and a good clean. And I was rather disappointed with my meal in the restaurant.

Attended a friend's party here. Food was pretty good,; they put on a special menu which was great. Bar expensive, but I don't drink out much, so may have noticed price a bit more! Otherwise, nice venue. We had a separate few rooms downstairs, with private (though tiny!) bar. For more choice had to walk through hotel to main bar, but not a problem. Nice looking garden, but rain meant we didn't use it (no covered areas)

The room we stayed in on our visit to the Episode Hotel was very dated even though the website has a lot of beautiful re-furbished rooms. Attention to detail within our room was very dusty and there was a open packet of biscuits on the wardrobe. The bed and pillows weren't of an adequate quality as would say very poor quality indeed .The cooked breakfast also needed to be better as on the two day stay it wasn't hot in any way.
