About End citizens united
End Citizens United: Fighting for Campaign Finance Reform
End Citizens United is a political action committee (PAC) that was founded in 2015 with the goal of overturning the Supreme Court's decision in the Citizens United case. The organization believes that unlimited and undisclosed spending by corporations and special interest groups has corrupted our political system, and it seeks to elect candidates who support campaign finance reform.
In races across the country, End Citizens United endorses champions of campaign finance reform who are running for office on a platform of fighting corruption and getting big money out of politics. The organization supports candidates at all levels of government, from local school boards to Congress.
One of End Citizens United's primary goals is to pass a constitutional amendment that would overturn the Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United v. FEC. This landmark ruling allowed corporations and unions to spend unlimited amounts of money on political campaigns, as long as they did not coordinate with candidates or parties.
End Citizens United also advocates for other reforms that would increase transparency in campaign finance, such as requiring disclosure of all donors who contribute more than $10,000 to any political entity. The organization supports efforts to strengthen enforcement mechanisms at the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and improve disclosure requirements for online advertising.
In addition to its advocacy work, End Citizens United also engages in grassroots organizing and fundraising efforts. The organization has built a network of over 4 million members across the country who are committed to fighting against big money in politics.
End Citizens United has endorsed numerous candidates since its founding, including Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Jon Tester (D-MT), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Tina Smith (D-MN) and many others.
The PAC has also been involved in several high-profile races where it helped elect pro-reform candidates over opponents backed by dark money groups. In 2018 alone, End Citizen’s united raised over $44 million dollars from small-dollar donations averaging just $14 per contribution making them one of America’s largest grassroots-funded organizations
Overall, End Citizen’s united is an important player in the fight against big money interests corrupting our democracy through their advocacy work supporting pro-reform politicians at every level while building an army grassroots supporters committed towards ending this corruption once-and-for-all!
