I ve never had such an awful experience in my life! Please trust me when I say if you struggle with any mental health issues and looking for help DO NOT go to this ER! My 14 year old daughter will now fear expressing her feelings and reaching out for help when she needs it thanks to this hospital. Not to mention they have social workers evaluating your child not a psych doctor. You would think if you make the trip to the hospital that you could at least get an evaluation done by a doctor. Believe when I say that this is not the solution if you think it s going to fast track you or a family member threw the system because it does not. Going to this hospital will only make you feel horrible about any mental issues you may have. I also want to add the the hospital was unsanitary. We could not even sit in the ER waiting room without being near a pile of puke right in the middle of the floor! We were in that waiting room for some time and not once did anyone come to clean it up or sanitize any of the furniture while we were there. I pray that no one has to go thew what me and my family experienced at that hospital.

Worst ER I have ever been to. Don t come here. We wait and wait and the staff is rude. It takes hours to get anything done. Just find a place that is more up to date than this run down hospital and ER.

I had an MRI done here and every step of the process was extremely difficult. I had to preregister 3 times - twice over the phone and once when I came in for my appointment. They kept losing my information.
Now I have been trying for almost 3 months to get the MRIs transferred to another doctors office and it still hasn t shown up. They admitted other patients were having the same problem. They keep blaming the mailing system. They told me I should come pick it up and drive it over myself. Emerson is over an hour from my house and the new doctor is in Boston. I would spend over 5 hours driving if I pick it up and bring it myself. Ridiculous they can t get it right.
This place is useless.

Sat in the waiting room with a friend for FIVE hours. For 3 of those hours, I listened to a man in excruciating pain. 3 hours. Finally, the poor guy just collapsed on the floor. Where he stayed for another hour. Nurse walked by him 2 or 3 times and never even checked on him Talk about inhumane. Jesus.

Went in for emergency, needing urgent surgery & received such high quality care! It s a very clean, comfortable facility. Each & every medical team member I encountered was knowledgeable, kind & personable.

My mother was in the care of nurses here after going through a major surgery. They are alarmingly negligent in managing her pain or simply keeping her comfortable. With her conditions, she is no stranger to the hospital setting- NEVER before have I heard her call me in so much pain and distress while under the care of nurses. My confidence in this place was quickly diminished.

I recently had knee replacement surgery at Emerson and had great care during my stay. I want to especially thank Donna(pre-op), Helen, Sam, Calli and Maria my nurses on Wheeler 5 for their kindness, levity, thoroughness and expertise in caring for me . Pain management, cleanliness, comfort and peace of mind were their priorities as well as mine. I also thank the staff beside them that also help make a place run so smoothly with comfort.

Good ER experience and caring understanding staff. Was reassured and taken care of for light injuries quickly

I had a surgery with an unfortunate complication so I had to stay in the hospital for 6 days.
Care was good... doctors and nurses generally very nice and knowledgeable...
I wish there were only one bed per room instead of two
