If you work or live in JLT you know that there are a lot of restaurants selling the same food, it becomes boring after a while. If you want to try something different and you love Mexican food you must go to El Mostacho. Their burritos is amazing, an explosion of taste........and the guacamole!!! The place is small but the quality of the food really pays back!

My go to place for Mexican food. The best burrito in Dubai. The service level is excellent. Just keep in mind some waiting if you are dinning in, because the place is tiny. I counted 10 chairs only.

This is where you go to get true Mexican burritos and tacos. The food tastes amazing. The ambience screams either lunch or late night alcohol-induced hunger (it's too bad they aren't open 24hrs). It's a small and cozy place so best not to come in groups of 8+. On the spacious side of JLT when it comes to parking.

I am am Texan born to a Mexican father. I know Mexican food. This is not fine dining at all. It is a taqueria and a very good one. 100% authentic and if you are lucky to show up when Isaac is there, you'll get some great banter. The most authentic flavor of Mexico in Dubai. Two words for them: Muchas gracias!

This is an amazing little authentic Mexican restaurant in the heart of JLT. Slightly hole in the wall for dining in - but filled with charm and incredible service!

Food is delicious! On offer are a number of Mexican dishes - and several fresh juices and drinks including Mexican Coca-Cola (made with real sugar cane).

Super cool joint - and always a go to when looking for something different.

Authentic Mexican place with Mexican chefs in a unique little area! Was blown away by how amazing everything tasted and one of the best meals we've had in Dubai. We tried their tacos, quesadillas and also churros and it literally transported us to back to Mexico!

This is a must visit restaurant when you're in Dubai!!

I should have known the Mendoza brothers, Isaac and Josue, were behind El Mostacho in JLT. Invariably, whenever I see skyrocketing ratings and reviews which constantly include the words amazing and authentic Mexican food, I find one or both of these cool dudes are involved, e.g. the set-up of Taqado Mexican Kitchen and their own La Taqueria DXB. If anything, El Mostacho is an evolution of La Taqueria, of which I remember writing at the time: honest, believable, unpretentious; one of these places where you know the food is going to be amazing. A hidden gem in the making . That could easily be this little outlet in the lobby of the Silver Tower in Cluster I of JLT.

Whatever you order, start with some guacamole; it s in-house made, always fresh and, particularly at this time of year, hugely refreshing. You ve heard of burrito bowls? Well, these guys have what they call a Taco Bowl, which incorporates traditional Mexican pinto beans, queso fresco; a soft, moist Mexican cheese, cactus salad (usually it s a classic ensalada de nopal but I don t know if they get prickly pear cactus paddles or nopalitos here) and a main. I had mine with some beautifully seared Carne Asada, a prime cut of grilled, sliced and diced beef. It s also offered with slow cooked, shredded Barbacoa (which I had with my Taco), Tinga de Pollo, shredded chicken in a tangy chipotle tomato sauce, or for the vegetarian, half an avocado. This taco bowl thing is superb.

The good news is that, the tacos which made La Taqueria so famous, are mostly available at El Mostacho (not the duck though). Do not leave this place without trying them, they re insane. I usually prefer fish tacos, especially if the fish is made in the Baja style theirs is, but Josue made mine with their delicious pulled Barbacoa yum. I loved the food at El Mostacho finding it earthy and rustic, and not so overpowered with cilantro and lime that you can t taste the other ingredients, as so many other Mexican restaurants tend to do with their food. If there s one criticism I have it s that there s not enough chilli burn but that s something which can be easily rectified with one of the several sauces they offer. Look out for Taco Tuesdays where you get three tacos free with every three tacos you order.

One of the main attractions of their now closed, family owned La Taqueria was that you got to interact with the entire family when dining there. El Mostacho is the same. In fact, it s Isaac who will most likely take your order. Don t be surprised if he comes over and joins you while you eat. Irrespective of who you are, you are treated like a returning regular. And in today s culinary world of corporate indifference, this personal touch makes all the difference. You just feel immediately at home and comfortable from the minute you walk into this tiny eatery. I m totally smitten. Congratulations to Isaac and Josue, you ve done it again. Bravo! Highly recommended.

Stopped by because I heard El Mostacho does some great Mexican food- and it's the truth! Reminded me of the kind of mexican food I get in SoCal.

Favorite was probably steak tacos, closely followed by chicken and tongue. Guac was creamy and delicious. Hand made corn tortillas were also highlights.

I'll be back!

Was craving to try their food for so long, and yesterday finally it happened but unfortunately the experience was not up to my expectations. Firstly, food was delivered 1.5 h later although the app was stating it would take 35 mins considering that i live in the next cluster. Secondly, the packaging was awful as when i opened the SMALL box with food the whole quesadilla was saggy and glued with cheese which was not pleasant to eat at all. And finally, the price that i paid for one burrito and one quesadilla which was in total 103 AED was NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. Will go back ordering burritos from another mexican restaurant where prices are reasonable, quantity is more and taste is the same. Thank you.

Staff is friendly indeed but food is not good portions are very small (3 taco plate was laughable) and I didn't find it authentic at all. Any restaurant serving pureed tomatoes as salsa cannot call itself authentic mexican. Not going back.

Best Mexican Taco joint in the while UAE. They know what it means to keep consistency in recipe, cooking methods and right ingredients. The Trio of Tacos (especially the cooked tongue and fish) is the best. Keep it up El Mostacho...

This is a hidden gem in the bustling corporate sector in JLT cluster I. The two brothers run the place. One is a chef and the other is the host. You can be guaranteed to get authentic Mexican cuisine. The place is a cosy small shop but it works. Highly recommend to try them.

Was craving my old Mexican place in San Diego so gave it a few visits. Was really good, but like everything in Dubai, quality is starting to slide. Meat was dry and after delivered, tacos look like they exploded in the container (probably not the fault of the restaurant tho). Still tasty, but went from ordering once a week to when I have the craving. Still the closest thing that you can get to authentic carne asada tacos in Dubai... but now controlling those cravings. A bit pricey and I recommend that you eat in the restaurant if you want fresher food.

It was amazing, some really good stuff to eat. The tacos are really nice and different, homemade like. The enchilada was amazing, really different from what you get outside. And don't forget to try the Mexican cola, it doesn't have the high fructose corn syrup you find in other colas.

One of the best mexican restaurants in Dubai! Their pulled chicken taco, wow! Their setting isn't huge which makes the experience even more genuine. The staff are amazing, as it's a family run business. I highly recommend it.

I came here with my Mexican friend. The dishes are finally made by a Mexican, he s passionate about what hes making and it shows, as this is the best Mexican food that I ve ever eaten. It s 100% authentic, with dishes like Chilaquiles and Enchiladas, Tortilla Soup and Tamarin Spicy soft drink. It was all phenomenal, and filled us with joy. My friend was especially happy cause they don t only sell burritos (which is Tex-Mex and not aesthetic at all).

My only criticism is the space. The restaurant is way too small and i hope another bigger chain opens. It has a nice street-food aesthetic to it, but the whole time i was eating people were bumping into me, and everyone can hear everyone s conversation. It s almost too cozy and not in a good way. Other than that, if you truly want to experience true authentic Mexican food, i would definitely recommend eating or even ordering from here, I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Amazing food, wonderful staff. We came from out of town, excited for Mexican food which we love, and we re very pleased with El Mostacho. The food was wonderful, specifically the guac and the vegetarian burrito. The kids loved the quesadillas. The staff was excellent and accommodating and it made for a wonderful evening! Thanks, El Mostacho!

A small Mexican restaurant in the lobby where there's one table and some bench seating making it quite cosy. Even though that's ample for a quick bite (when they're not busy), it's also highly suitable for takeaway.

The food includes some Mexican favourites - I'm told attracting Mexicans to come enjoy some of the specialities (such as beef tongue tacos). Flavours are good, portions are not huge but ok, but some of the tacos could do with more sauce/flavouring.

Service is friendly and in line with the fun small business atmosphere of this casual restaurant.
