I had an appointment to get a vaccine and they closed down the day of my appointment and I guess for a week after and never bothered calling me to let me know it was canceled. Getting back a hold of them has been difficult. I'd give less than a one star but it's not possible, Everyone that works there hates their job or something because they are all rude. Horrible health department.

Poor customer service and zero skills with professionalism. I came in to get my son vaccinated and was verbally abused in a lobby when the employee was supposed to have been inputting his information in the system so he can get vaccinated and go back to school. Literally waited 50 min after my appointment was scheduled and I dont understand why.... needs a serious clean up with employee and public support.

I hate coming here because the staff is so rude and unhelpful. They really do need to fire everyone and hire a whole new staff. I wonder how many times they have been cussed out by people who are not as nice as me to keep my feelings to myself and not be rude back. I hope it's a lot

I was told I could stop in and get the next few months of my birth control pill when I run out. No call or appointment needed. She said just come on by! I stopped by and they made me feel like an idiot. With a snark attitude they told me I needed an appointment and that they had nothing on me in the system (even though I ve been getting Birth control there for the past year). They need to get it together. I had to leave with nothing after driving all the way there.

Every time I go to this location they have awful customer service especially the receptionist Arlene she is so rude. They need to hire new staff. Then they take forever to get things in order. We had to wait almost 3 hours because they were short staffed. She gave me the wrong folder and later on the day called and asked if I could bring it back to the office. I told her I would come back at my convenience. That one receptionist makes the whole place awful because she is the first person to see you. The manager is rude also.

About Effingham County Health Departmet

Effingham County Health Department: Providing Quality Healthcare Services to the Community

The Coastal Health District of Georgia is committed to providing quality healthcare services to the residents of Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long & McIntosh counties. Among these counties is Effingham County which has its own health department that caters to the healthcare needs of its residents. The Effingham County Health Department (ECHD) is a government agency that provides a wide range of public health services and programs.

ECHD's mission is to promote and protect the health and well-being of all individuals in Effingham County through prevention, education, and intervention. The department offers various programs such as immunizations for children and adults; family planning services; HIV testing and counseling; tuberculosis screening; WIC (Women Infants Children) nutrition program; environmental health inspections for restaurants and other establishments; emergency preparedness planning; vital records issuance such as birth certificates and death certificates.

Immunizations are one of ECHD's most important programs. They offer vaccines for children from birth up until 18 years old at no cost or low cost depending on eligibility. Vaccines are essential in preventing diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), polio, hepatitis A & B among others. Adults can also receive vaccines at ECHD including flu shots during flu season.

Family planning services are also available at ECHD which includes contraceptive methods such as pills or IUDs (intrauterine devices). These methods help prevent unintended pregnancies which can lead to maternal mortality or morbidity.

HIV testing and counseling are offered confidentially at ECHD with results available within minutes using rapid tests. This program aims to reduce the spread of HIV by identifying infected individuals early on so they can receive treatment promptly.

Tuberculosis screening is another important program offered by ECHD especially for those who have been exposed or have symptoms related to TB infection. Early detection helps prevent further transmission within the community.

WIC nutrition program provides healthy food options for pregnant women or mothers with young children who meet certain income requirements. This program aims to improve maternal-child health outcomes by ensuring proper nutrition during pregnancy or infancy stages.

Environmental health inspections ensure that restaurants comply with food safety regulations set by local authorities thus reducing incidents related to foodborne illnesses among customers.

Emergency preparedness planning involves collaboration between different agencies including hospitals in case there's an outbreak or natural disaster affecting public health in Effingham County.

Vital records issuance includes issuing birth certificates upon request which serves as proof of identity when applying for government benefits like social security cards or passports among others.

In conclusion,Effingham County Health Department plays a crucial role in promoting public health within its jurisdiction through various programs aimed at preventing diseases before they occur while also providing necessary interventions when needed.Their commitment towards improving accessibilities towards quality healthcare makes them stand out from other organizations serving similar purposes.Efforts made by this organization should be appreciated because it ensures better living standards amongst people residing under their jurisdiction while also contributing positively towards society overall .
