Very friendly service, speaking fluent english. The food was ok for lunch. Good soup. Some nice Belgian beers. The guide was winding us classical music, it was nothing. Clean places though not super bright either.

My Husband and I travelled through Amsterdam in early March and ate here for dinner one evening. We absolutely loved it. The food was amazing, so delicious.

Service was good, a little slow but it seemed only one person was serving the whole restaurant. But the food was excellent so it was all okay! Would love to come back some day! Definitely recommend to eat here.

A place not to miss in Amsterdam. The food was delicious, the staff very nice and the venue is wonderfully decorated.
The menu proposes both traditional and international recipes. We had the Stamppot, a traditional recipe and a Beuf Bourguignon which is a French dish and both surpassed our expectations in all respects.

The employees speak English and French, the welcome is very warm and the food excellent in more than enough quantity. The prices are very reasonable for a restaurant in the city center and for this quality. The only defect is the service time, but largely compensated.

Absolutely amazing food and hospitality.

Workers were very friendly and helpful and although I didn't think I would like anything on the menu, I plan on returning to Amsterdam mainly for this restaurant.

The menu is great for a cold day. The stew of the day was delicious and filling. The hosts today were very nice, smiling and helping all have a good time. Prices are fairly reasonable for lunch, about 9 to 13 . The serve sandwiches, hot lunches, and larger evening meals too. Or if you prefer breakfast, yes they serve eggs in the morning. Don't forget your cappuccino. If your looking for hard drinks, they also have a full bar. Just right for a cold December day. And they accept AmEx.

Great to eat and relax in a cozy authentic atmosphere.
Tasty Dutch meatballs, esp. interesting combination with peanut sauce.
Also, pancakes with apple and cinnamon were wonderful.
Reasonable prices as well.
Highly recommended.

We went here a few days ago, I'm a Dutch local and I was with my partner who speaks English.

We were treated very badly by the female server. We asked for tea and what kind of options they have and the server just had a bad attitude, put the box in front of us and said "Here!".

I asked her if she was in a hurry, she said: "Yes, i am in a hurry, now, what would you want to drink??" I said: "I'm not sure if I want to drink here anymore..." She: "Ok! I'll give you time to think" and she walks away in a hurry. My partner, who didn't understand our conversation which was in Dutch, was appalled by her behavior.

The server treated us like utter garbage. WE WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!

Instead, we went to another brown cafe, few doors further. The female bartender there was such a sweetheart! She made our day.

- Ga hier niet naar binnen wanneer het druk is en de bediening op haar toppunt van chagrijnigheid is!

Wow. The food was amazing. Just wow. It's a small menu, but there is something to cater for most tastes and it's so well cooked. Just wow. It's a bit dark, cosy, the bar is overflowing with bottles and glasses. Service is friendly and swift. The food is wonderful.

The food here was very good, we enjoyed our first taste of traditional Dutch cuisine. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the prices were not bad at all.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try traditional Dutch cuisine in a small pub-like environment. It was a little out of the way for us, but it was worth the trip.

Very nice atmosphere Ditch Brown cafe in central Amsterdam. The servers were very friendly and the food was delicious. Locals and tourists alike attend the restaurant bar. Good selection of beers and I would recommend the Bordeaux Coffee. Free wifi.
