Had our baby here. Very nice people.no problems at all with the actual people but as I'm writing this my wife is STILL not discharged. Not impressed with anything else. Dinner took over 2 hours to come. Breakfast was just as long... in fact, I left and drove to Eaton Rapids to pick up my daughter because NO KIDS UNDER 12 ARE ALLOWED IN THE HOSPITAL. Doesn't matter about a mask or a vaccine either.....nothing like not being able to see your new baby sister huh? Anyway... drove to Eaton rapids, picked her up, went to Robins Nest and ordered breakfast and my wife still had no food after ours came to the table. Think about that.... She ordered her food before I left her room and I did all that and was already putting hot sauce on my eggs and she still had no food.....That's service for ya! We had some minor complications so we were made to stay another night.... we were told an early morning discharge and now it is 8:35 and they are saying it might be closer to noon. Nice. So I have to leave my wife and new baby there alone all night because kids under 12 aren't allowed in the hospital. That is some great family bonding huh? Her there alone and us at the house. There is more to the story but who cares. We aren't having any more kids anyway and if we did, we wouldn't come near this place. Hornswoggled into a 2 day stay. What's an overnight cost? $20,000? They sure know how to milk it for everything they can huh?
Update.... it's now 1:30 and no discharge yet. 54+ hours trapped inside the baby ward. Another update.... STILL waiting for paperwork. Sparrow has completely ruined an entire weekend. We have family waiting, things to do. They also have things to do. We had plans. It's Halloween. Our baby was born at 1:55pm on Friday the 29th. It is now 1:55pm on Sunday and here we sit. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. For no reason. We were cleared of everything at 4:25am this morning.... another 9 1/2 hours for WHAT? I will return here and share my bill so everyone can see. Unbelievable.
Worst hospital ever!! Kicked me out of the lobby at 43 degrees to wait outside for an hour for a ride home! Made my husband leave because no visitors allowed! Unbelievable what our health care has become! Good luck getting another f ing penny out of me!! I will NEVER come back to this facility again! The lack of care has dropped 1000% since pre-Covid!!
Got into a car crash accident I got surgery on my rib and arm and still in the hospital waiting to get surgery did on my ankle have not had my bandages changed since I have been here they have been on for at least 3 to 4 days now have asked should they be changed and still haven't been changed and have to wait for shift change to get a answer it's about 4.45am in the morning and ask for something to drink and a couple of graham crackers and that would have been about 20 minutes ago after talking to someone to bring what i ask for still no one had got back to me till 5.04am service here is not that good on 6 fl night shift same bandage from surgery so I search the web see when your bandages should we change it says 48 hours after and I ain't been told that you know it's okay to keep you better just on longer than that is that sanitary
What should be a quick 20-30 minute visit has turned to hours. When you'd once be able to see a doctor the next day, has become being put on a 2 week waiting list. It'd be easy to blame nurses and other feet-on-the-ground level staff for the quality of care Sparrow has to offer, but the truth is that the incompetent leadership at this hospital has led to this deterioration. Staff are being underpaid and overworked, particularly during a world health crisis. Record numbers of employees who actually provide care are leaving, while unnecessary managers and upper staff who never set foot in the hospital are kept on payroll. When staff are treated poor from above it's no wonder they can't spare sympathy to patients.
My mother was just released from sparrow hospital yesterday and to be honest between my brother, sister, and myself the medical staff at sparrow did a great job keeping our family posted about our mothers condition. It was a relief knowing that she was in good hands with the people that were taking care of her." Candy " one of her nurses went out of her way to make our mother feel comfortable and she was always polite and courteous to all of us, especially our mother. We give "THANKS" TO ALL OF YOU ON THE 8th floor who went out of your way to make our mother comfortable and communicating with us so our worries were less stressful. I give the 8th floor @ sparrow a 5 star review as you guys deserve to be recognized and risking your own safety and lives for all of us in this community and beyond THANKS for doing so. Your efforts are not going unnoticed!!!!!!
With the exception of the Security. The Emergency Department staff were absolutely amazing and very attentive to our needs. Thank you all for being so compassionate and caring. I hope we never have to go back but if we do I know my Brother will be in good hands.
Worst emergency experience ever. I tested positive for covid spoke with someone before I showed up to the emergency room who insisted that I go in. I was told that she would be looking for my chart to come across and to let the I'm taking people know that I had spoke with her. After waiting for 30 minutes I finally was called back thinking I was going to get somewhere but instead I sat in the room for another 15 minutes waiting for someone to come. I want someone finally did come in to take my vitals I had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes for the doctor to come and ask me the same questions that the nurse did about my vitals. After that I was moved to a hallway and left there for 30 minutes not knowing if I was going to be seen or what was going to happen. I felt like I was taking care of myself fine at home and would have never went in if I wasn't told to. If you guys really have an emergency you need to be seen right away do not go to sparrow emergency room!! More than likely you'll catch covid from somebody waiting in the lobby that tested positive like me. Or you'll probably pass away from whatever illness you're suffering from stay away!
Going to the hospital and emergency room is never fun but our nurse was AMAZING. Lizzie, thank you for doing everything in your power to make sure my gf was taken care of. Your positive attitude and kindness was above anything we have experienced. Sparrow is beyond BLESSED to have a nurse like her.
They held me against my Will. The nurses and doctors don t take care of me. I barely see them and they are unprofessional. I m am going to have a lawsuit against this hospital for holding me against my will and multiple reason. I been her for nearly 2 months and there is nothing wrong with me. They claim something is wrong with me but they are lying. This is the worst hospital in history. They have a feeding tube in my stopped even though I eat a lot. I would not come to this hospital.
