Educational Service Unit No. 11: Providing Quality Education Services in South-Central Nebraska
Educational Service Unit No. 11, also known as ESU 11, is a non-profit educational organization that provides a wide range of services to thirteen public school districts in south-central Nebraska. Established in 1965, ESU 11 has been committed to improving the quality of education and enhancing the learning experience for students and educators alike.
ESU 11 offers a variety of programs and services that cater to the diverse needs of its member schools. These include professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators, special education services for students with disabilities, technology support and training, media resources such as books and videos, curriculum development assistance, assessment tools and data analysis support.
One of the key strengths of ESU 11 is its team of highly qualified professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional service to their member schools. The staff includes certified teachers with expertise in various subject areas such as math, science, language arts and social studies; special education specialists who work with students with disabilities; technology experts who provide technical assistance on hardware/software issues; media specialists who help schools build their library collections; curriculum consultants who assist schools in aligning their curriculum with state standards; assessment coordinators who help schools analyze student data to improve instruction.
ESU 11 also partners with other organizations within the community to enhance its services. For example, it collaborates with local businesses to provide internships for high school students so they can gain real-world experience while still in school. It also works closely with colleges/universities within the region to offer dual enrollment courses that allow high school students to earn college credits while still enrolled in high school.
In addition to its core programs/services mentioned above, ESU 11 also offers several other initiatives that promote innovation and creativity among educators/students:
1) The Innovation Studio - This is a makerspace where educators/students can explore new technologies such as robotics/3D printing/virtual reality etc., collaborate on projects or simply experiment with new ideas.
2) The Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) - This program empowers students by giving them leadership roles within their schools/districts where they can use technology skills/knowledge acquired through STLP training sessions/workshops/events etc.,
3) The Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Network (NET)- This network provides access to educational programming/resources via television/internet/radio etc., which helps supplement classroom instruction.
Overall ESU-11 has been instrumental in providing quality education services throughout south-central Nebraska since its inception over five decades ago. Its commitment towards excellence has helped shape countless lives by providing innovative solutions tailored specifically towards meeting individual needs at every level from K-12th grade!
